    Hi there, older veteran B.A.S.E. jumper here from So Cal. Great video and informative for any new or interested jumpers. Really nice presentation. Back when I learned B.A.S.E. there were no FJC's, just a friend I worked with at a skydiving school with maybe 50 fixed object jumps to help me and my friend learn to B.A.S.E. without killing ourselves. Todd and Anne at BR prior to Apex were always helpful too and they were in a backyard at Perris. I made a bit over 600 B.A.S.E. jumps but no longer jump. F'ing miss it a lot though. Cheers man.

      That really means a lot, it’s always easy getting discouraged on any creative venture. Appreciate your time, and the kind words. Certainly more videos to come!

      Not that I can recall! There’s so many people that make their way through twin falls annually from all over the world, and BADE is such a small community, everyone’s only separated by one acquaintance at the very most.

    Would you ever base mentor one of your subs? (hint hint)

    • @DevMcLaughlin
      @DevMcLaughlin  Год назад +1

      You don’t want me to mentor you dude. There’s well established schools with decades of experience out there that’ll set you up better than I ever could. Tom at Snake River, Miles D, Chuma, Scotty Bob, Douggs are the best in the industry. What it’s gonna come down to is what sort of environment works best for you, and what you want to achieve in BASE. Each has their strengths and weaknesses. Settling for anything less is settling for less information to keep you safe, and that’s the truth. I do believe there is something that can be learned from actively watching someone go from not knowing what they’re doing, to not knowing what they’re doing a little less and learning from their mistakes (me), but that shouldn’t be a guide. And what has worked for me very well might not work for you. It’s important to realize that no one is going to be able to keep you alive in this sport but you once your foot leaves that exit point. Learn to annoy people with questions, learn how to filter BS, learn that no answer is the final word, and learn that the loudest person in the room might have the least to say.
      All this said, always willing to have a conversation all things BASE to share what I’ve learned, be proven wrong, help prevent mistakes, help myself from making more and share the love.
