The Wise multi-currency account is a great option if you live abroad or travel frequently, because its foreign transaction and conversion fees are lower than what many companies charge. It's also convenient if you work for a company that pays you in a different currency than you use, or if you send or receive money from people who live in other countries. On top of that, you can hold more foreign currencies (i.e. USD, GBP, Euro, SGD, etc.) which are historically better than MYR due to the stability of those currencies!
You can get your own bank details for 10 different currencies (including SGD, MYR, USD, GBP, EUR, and more) to receive money for free from those places. Unlike other accounts, there are no monthly charges or minimum balances required.
You can give your new bank details to friends, family, companies, or clients in the UK, Europe, US, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore to get paid in the local currencies, directly into your Wise account. It'd be a local bank transfer for your sender, so it's free for you to receive money with these bank details.
The Wise account lets you add, hold, and convert over 54 currencies instantly. All conversions and transactions are made with the real exchange rate - like the one you see on Google.
For people shopping online overseas, travelling internationally, or paying for subscriptions in foreign currencies, you can save up to RM 6.25 per transaction when spending in foreign currencies. You can spend in-person or online in over 200 countries at the real exchange rate, with zero foreign transaction fees and super-low conversion fees.
    ✅Features of Wise Card
→ Send money to over 80 countries
→ Hold and manage money in more than 54 currencies
→ For a super-low fee, you get the real exchange rate, like on Google, for every money transfer
→ 50% of transfers are instant or arrive within an hour
→ Freeze and unfreeze your card instantly
→ Spend on your card in any currency (with auto conversion at the best rate)
→ Free ATM withdrawals from more than 2 million ATMs worldwide (up to RM 1,000 a month)
→ Secure your transfers with two-factor authentication
→ Create digital cards to protect your identity online

Hi Ziet, thanks for your effort of maing this video. I have one thing remain unclear here, and I really hope to get your clarification. You mentioned that to top up the multi currency account before spending by card to save the fees incurred. But from my understanding, to top up any multicurrency account, we will anyhow being charged on the processing fee right? So what's actually the difference between to top up that particular currency account first before spending in that currency and to not top up that particular currency account and have remaining money in MYR account or other currency account. Thank you so much!

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  Год назад

Hi Jingya, you are correct, but instead of paying fees for every 10 SGD transaction, its best to pay the fee once for say 1500 SGD, then you would not incur the fixed fee for every small transactions.
Not the worst thing, but just some small tips to save extra money!

For 026 i know there's a limit for it but for 084 it stated unlimited. Quite confused about that though becoz is it related with holding limits or receiving limits...🤔🤔🤔

Hmmm, the holding limit usually applies according to your residency, should have nothing to do with the assigned Wise US bank account.
For Malaysians like me, the holding limit is RM 20,000 (~USD 4.7k) at all times

Hi Ziet, thanks for the very informative video! I do have a question about the double conversion rate that you mentioned in the video.
How is it “double conversion” when the currency I needed during payment (SGD) is converted from another currency (MYR).
As compared to converting MYR to SGD before the payment and having enough fund for the payment.
Hope the question is clear. Thank you!

    • @ZietInvests

Hi Elaine, ahh i meant instead of allowing Wise to auto convert MYR to SGD for every single transaction that may incur conversion charges, its best to have SGD cash ready instead. I probably should make it clearer instead of saying “double conversion” haha, hopefully this clarifies!

@@ZietInvests Hi Ziet, thanks for your video, very useful information and I just applied for a Wise account & card!! :D Regarding your comment above, I have some queries which I appreciate if you can enlighten me:
      1. Can I confirm if the way to reload money in foreign currency account, SGD (for example), is by adding the "Add" method in SGD account and pay via MYR, there will not be any processing fees charged by Wise, and we are only affected by exchange rate risk. On the other hand if we convert money from MYR account to SGD account, Wise will charge us a conversion fee. Hence it is better to reload money in foreign currency account by using the "Add" method in the foreign currency account. Is that correct?
      2. If my understanding in No.1 above is correct - then that is why you advise that we reload our foreign currency account first (e.g. SGD) and then when we pay online or at stores in Singapore in SGD, Wise will auto deduct the amount from our SGD account with not further charges. In other words, we don't get charged at all for reloading into and spending from the SGD account, right?

This is great if you trade stock market like NYSE and travelling. I do not have both reason. I use bigpay to renew my monthly subscription like netflix, tradingview subsription and etc. Linking debit card is high risk for me since I have a lot of money going in and out in the card. I should find a reason one day to make wise! Been eyeing for so long.

Hi! This is really late, but I would like to ask a few questions if possible!
To start, I’m singaporean based in Singapore.I already got this card, but still have questions, therefore the asking.
Firstly, this is to check, if I would like to use the card overseas( outside sg+ after activating), I just create a balance and transfer money into it, and I can use it as a normal visa. Is this right?
Next( and the last), I would like to ask something that kinda made me apply to this on impulse, especially I don’t particularly own any businesses though I’m trying out earning from overseas, but I didn’t find enough information about.
Basically, I’m trying to buy something online, only available in Turkey(country name is just a example, can replace with anything). That item can only be purchased in that country, normally only by turkey’s own card or a card based in turkey. Would I be able to use wise to do purchase the item online? Using the debit card?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @ZietInvests
      @ZietInvests  Год назад

Hi there, that is correct, you just have to reload your balance (any currencies) and you can use it at any other country after activating, but i would recommend you converting first to avoid multiple charges in smaller conversions.

I received my FREE card from Singapore exactly on the expected arrival date. If I have Singapore dollars balance, can I use this balance to transfer money to Syfe for my ETF investments and will there be any charges or fees since I already have Singapore dollars? Can I provide my Wise Singapore balance account to Syfe if I redeem my investments? Will payment go into my Wise Singapore account? • @ZietInvests

Hi Raymond, technically you should be able to do that, but do check with Syfe whether they accept funding from 3rd party, sometimes financial institutions/funds don't accept these - case in point TD Ameritrade.
It is considered a DBS Singapore account under Wise's name, remitting on your behalf.

Hi cherlyn, some vendors in malaysia dont accept Wise for some reason, but should work well in foreign merchants (if they accept visa)
At least thats what my viewers told me for their transactions in singapore
