    Nice, you have that bright clanky tone down pretty good. I know he likes the rotosounds and I used to use them, but I think Chromes or Fender flats have a nice bright tone that sounds better in my opinion. Just my thoughts. Good job. I have a Tech 21 VT Bass 200 combo and it sounds great.

    Well done as always Oliver! I saw Steve's Tech (can't remember his name) in an interview state that those basses actually have maple bodies. Fender in the 70's would occasionally use maple bodies.When making his sig model, they couldn't get the sound exact with alder or ash. With maple they went! Is it a heavy instrument?

      Thank you! Yeah Micheal Kenney said that in an interview with Tech 21. It is quite heavy, but I'm used to it now, as I play at least two-hour shows with my tribute band. It weighs about 5.2 kg (around 11.5 lbs)

    Hello Oliver i have two questions. Do you have changed the Fender Hi Mass because was not good enough? And the second one, is the neck of this bass stark enough to support the high tension of the SH77 Strings? I own the Sparkle blue Japanese and i want to have too the mexican one, but i have some doubts about the neck in this one.

    • @OliverTobyn
      @OliverTobyn  Год назад +2

      Hi there, I switched to the Badass II bridge just to have it faithful to the original, but the Fender High Mass is just as good!
      The neck is definitely strong enough to support them. Though the Japanese one is larger. I feel you can achieve a very low action on the MIJ bass compared to the Mexican one but it definitely withstands the tension of the strings

    I bought this pedal about month ago and love it. But I see you are plugging it straight into the input jack and it sound great. When i did this in my amp (ashdown mag 300) I have all eq but pedal sounds little "meh" but when I plugged it into the return input on effects loop (what is causing avoid all amp eq) sound is WOW. Did you tried plugged it into return input?

    • @OliverTobyn
      @OliverTobyn  2 года назад +2

      If you plug it in the return you're skipping the pramp, so you're effectively not using the amp's own tone (though there's some in the power amp as well) and that's what works best in my opinion. I generally prefer using the Return input, but the 4 Stroke doesn't have a Send/Return, so I'll use the amp's eq to fine tune the tone
