Hi JJ! You were so generous with sharing your knowledge, you were exactly the right person for this topic. I hope this points people toward your excellent set of conservation biology videos!
Thank you for this highly intriguing collaboration, Steve. The biodiversity gradient is quite the interesting topic, but John's explanation on why the Amazon basin is so biodiverse was helpful. I'm anticipating the hoatzin video, and I'm looking to seeing your segment!
Hi Jack! JJ has so much information like this on his channel. I appreciated how generous he was with sharing his knowledge for this video. He said the Hoatzin video is his next release, so it's a good time to subscribe if you haven't already. :) Thanks for watching again this week!
Hi Vernon! I think it is absolutely still relevant. In the video he talks about how the ecosystem stability argument being one of the strongest supports for biodiversity. It's the point I wanted to make prior to reviewing his video, so it worked out well. What do you think about the compatibility of the two? Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the endorsement, Koaw! Even on a "fundamental" topic, it's always surprising how much more there is to learn. I appreciate you watching again this week!
That's an interesting observation, James! My initial thought is that ecosystems are changed by consistent pressures, and being messy is something VERY consistent about birds, as you know! :) I'll keep an eye out for bird ecosystem engineering stories. Thanks for watching again this week!
Look at those air plants on that live oak! Thanks for inviting me to do this collaboration.

Is JJ’s old “Does Biodiversity Matter” video still relevant?

That video seems to have been about how the word “biodiversity” as it is often used is not a useful term in conservation.
Nice video on biodiversity. This would be a beneficial aid for classrooms to use.

Birds being destructive and messy seems to be very important to some ecosystems .
