I received my shofar today in the mail from the Jerusalm prayer Team and was trying to play it, I did make a sound come out of it, but I still have a long way to go in mastering it. But learning is fun. And as my pastor told practice makes perfect, lol
I thought I was crazy when I was in prayer and God told me to buy a shofar. I had no need for one, so I replied with "I don't even know how to play!" I got a very simple answer from him: "I'll teach you." So I prayed and he helped me to select my shofar. I still didn't know how to play it. But I tried and within moments of praying and listening, I managed a few different notes! Hearing you say that God taught you as well, just reaffirms that God was teaching me too, and it wasn't just blind luck. Thank you for that.

Not long after I was at a Jericho march and there was a shofar there but no one to play it. I was the only one and I blew it loud and clear, it was a beautiful moment!!

I ordered a rams horn Shofar. I was out at the local pond today for the first time. 10 min I picked it up. The guess with new clutches of goslings, were coming over to investigate. The goslings being maybe a week old were closer to me then the parents. Before I started blowing, I prayed to Yah for the Ruach Hakodesh to bless me, and the sound just came out. I honestly believe that you can not blow the Shofar without the Ruach blessing you. When I herd the sound, I was at peace.
I got my first blow on day one the first 30 min. One thing I have been doing is a prayer before I begin, just like I do before reading the Bible. Amen brother. Thank you so much for the very helpful tips! God bless you.

Thank you. I have been blowing my shofar since the 1980s. I love to hear the sound of the shofar and listening to “new” ways of blowing and new sounds. As I have blown my shofar, I have witnessed miracles of healing at the shofar sound. I have witnessed stoic Christian men crumple at the knees and be a heap on the floor. I have witnessed the guest speaker at a men’s conference be propelled backwards across the main stage only to land just before demolishing the drums. I am still learning of the POWER that lies dormant in the shofar until it is blown and the voice of God is released. I am always in awe of the power that emanates from the shofar, I don’t understand it, but when I am obedient to blow it, something always happens. I bear witness of these facts

The examples I have mentioned, have in fact been witnessed by more than just me at the time they happened. The healing was on a man’s back. As I blew the shofar, he was instantly healed and mobile. He has documented the date and time of this event, and I can access a copy FYI. The guest speaker who was propelled across the stage, sought me out after the event and said when I blew the shofar, a force like a battering ram, struck him mid rift and propelled him backwards. The man who heard the sound, was a, “Now you see me, now you don’t,” as he collapsed on to the concrete floor. As I said, I don’t understand it, but, I won’t knock it just because I don’t know why.
@@sadaksara Hello Apricot -Juice, I can most definitely qualify my comments. It is not pure insanity, nor AI. At a baptism I was at, I blew the shofar as the young lad come out from under the water. He stood solid, but the officiating pastor collapsed in the baptismal tank and had to be assisted out of the water. His comment was, “That was incredible”. As I already stated, I do not understand the power that is in the shofar instrument, but what I do know is that something significant occurs at the shofar sound.

That was awesome! Just so clean sounding. I got my shofar from a local synagogue and the first time was definitely that horrible flat air sound , with spit. Once I kept going I got that loud clear pitch and you can feel it do something in the spiritual realm. Can't wait to learn more from you on your videos especially the different notes. Wow! I’ve have this small shofar that I ordered off Amazon. This is the first time that I was able to blow it by listening to your RUclips. I’m going to try to find a better one but this is my desire to be able to blow it with precision. I loved watching you blow the shofar. It was so beaut.
I'm going to the Lois Vogel Sharp spiritual convention in Spicewood Tx this weekend, September 24th, 2022, and 600 of us are going to be blowing our Shofars to bring in the new year and release the waring angels on the evil in our world. I've never blown one before but after watching your video, I actually made a decent sound. Thank you for sharing.
BTW, I've found it easiest to blow the shofar the same way someone in a school band would play a brass wind instrument such as a trumpet, French horn, trombone, Tuba etc. If anyone has ever played any of these instruments, you have to pucker your lips the same way and make a proper seal with your lips around the shofar when you blow into it.
I've heard that lol people tell me this a lot to try to help me perfect my shofar skills xD I've never blown a brass instrument before though xD I played the clarinet for the smallest bit but that's the closest I've gotten xD
Lol love it. Pray first, ask ruach. Lips together not over the tip but like your kissing the shofar and seal the rim. Breath out and when you hit it (a note or pitch) you'll know. You'll feel it and bam!

Segue to embouchure: When I was a little kid, after drinking my soda, me and my friends used to blow air into (or across), our soda bottles to create hollow musical sounds. Little did we know back then, we were actually practicing an embouchure just like musicians but only with bottles. A good example of an incorrect but very successful embouchure was the late great Mr. Dizzy Gillespie (with all respect to him). Dizzy from what I've read was self-taught. In your video you demonstrated how NOT to blow into a Shofar, but that's EXACTLY how Dizzy taught himself to play and he became a world renowned legend! 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎 Some trumpet players play to the left, right or center embouchure. I guess whatevers comfortable and if they're self-taught. The end result is sweet music! 😎😎😎😎😎 Edit: I'm no musician. I'm a jazz aficionado. The first time I blew into a trumpet, I was able to produce a note. And my embouchure was center. I credit soda bottles! Isn't that something? 😎😎😎

Lol love it. Pray first, ask ruach. Lips together not over the tip but like your kissing the shofar and seal the rim. Breath out and when you hit it (a note or pitch) you'll know. You'll feel it and bam!

This includes shaping the lips to the mouthpiece of a woodwind instrument or the mouthpiece of a brass instrument. The word is of French origin and is related to the root bouche, 'mouth'. Proper embouchure allows instrumentalists to play their instrument at its full range with a full, clear tone and without strain or damage to their muscles.

@@djerryisrael786 Thank you for the excellent and informative video! I never knew what a Shofar was until your video. I honestly thought it was just a rams horn. Segue to embouchure: When I was a little kid, after drinking my soda, me and my friends used to blow air into (or across), our soda bottles to create hollow musical sounds. Little did we know back then, we were actually practicing an embouchure just like musicians but only with bottles.
A good example of an incorrect but very successful embouchure was the late great Mr. Dizzy Gillespie (with all respect to him). Dizzy from what I've read was self-taught.
In your video you demonstrated how NOT to blow into a Shofar, but that's EXACTLY how Dizzy taught himself to play and he became a world renowned legend! 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Some trumpet players play to the left, right or center embouchure. I guess whatevers comfortable and if they're self-taught. The end result is sweet music! 😎😎😎😎😎

I'm no musician. I'm a jazz aficionado. The first time I blew into a trumpet, I was able to produce a note. And my embouchure was center. I credit soda bottles! Isn't that something? 😎😎😎
