So, i recently purchased the Bombtech 3.0 Driving Iron (16°). 220-230 yards off the tee, dead straight, 90% of the time (note, I'm 62). Quite pleased with it.
Last month I bought an Adams Tight Lies 3 wood and 5 wood from Rockbottom Golf. They were only $70 apiece brand new. I absolutely love them. They are the easiest to hit fairway woods that I have ever owned. I'm 77 years old, so I have owned quite a few. Also, to my eyes they are gorgeous clubs that come with beautiful head covers.
Tried buying these a year ago but by the time shipping and taxes were added it almost doubled the price so didn't bother and bought 2nd hand M4 driver and 3 wood off eBay for a good price, am now considering getting something new and at that price, keep them coming mate.
Yeah I was really looking into their stuff when I first started playing. At the time, I was living in Hawaii. The shipping costed nearly as much as the clubs so I went to my local roger Dunn and just pieced together a nice used / late model set instead.
Bombtech were my first clubs. I had the driver, 16 degree Hywood(still in the bag) and the wedges. Really not a bad deal for beginners getting into the game
2 years ago I bought a set of Bombtech wedges 52, 56, 60. I love them and hit them well. In fact the 52 degree is one of my favorite clubs, along with my PXG 0311XF gen 5 driver and my Oddessy O works 2 ball putter.
I bought a used Lazrus Wedge for $15 in my local pro shop. Supposedly the guy just dropped it off because he didnt like it. For $15 it's easily one of the best wedges I have ever hit. The feel is unbelievable. Great video James
After seeing your vid about the Macgredor driving iron I bought the 4iron. It came 2 days after ordering it. I love it. My new fave club. I rarely hit it off line. It’s definitely my go to club. Thanks mate.
The best club I ordered from Amazon was a pinemeadow yukon 9 wood. Since have bought a big Bertha 9 wood, but I need something more off the tee, can’t drive well, so I bought a pinemeadow Yukon 5 wood should be in today. $50 with zero complaints, and if you order it on pinemeadow site you can semi fit the club to you.
When I was just starting off in golf, I got myself the Bombtech wedge set, though I got them direct from the company, not Amazon. When I got it, they were running a special that had 4 wedges, 52, 56, 60, and 72 (yes, 72) for US$100. The 72 was a bit of a joke and it's pretty much unplayable on the course, but the other 3 clubs stayed in my bag for years. BTW, I looked on the site and saw they sell a 5W and 7W now, both reasonably priced; you could sub out the whole top end of your bag!
I bought a Mazel driver from Amazon 4 years ago, cost £74.99. It was brilliant really long hitting Driver until the face cracked but only after 2 years use mind!! (I now have a Ping G425 Max, love it also even if it does sound like a dustbin lid being clanged when you hit it 😄).
Like 3 yrs ago getting back into golf and not knowing anything.. I saw a Mizuno JPX or Z 900.. stiff shaft, brand new Tour Pride grip TP2 etc. No sky marks, head looked almost brand new… Got it for $20. Found it at my local driving range … 1st time at that range as well… Looked on Amazon and the grip was $12. I played it for a yr and as I got better I bought the SIM2 second hand which I still play. Sold it on ebay for $40. I watched your new video on the ball. I use to use the Vice pro plus I bought like 3 or 4 yrs ago. Then recently bought some more and they had all these other options but still got the pro plus but in the drip color… I dont know if I just got a bad batch 2 dozen, the other in the lime green.. when you guys where bouncing them off the culb heads which I really had never done… I did that day after like 4 holes and they sounded harder and felt harder. I wondered if anyone else had ever noticed that .?
My best 3 wood was my 13°Yonex ADX. I used it as my "Driver" on my home course, because the fairways were very narrow... and I could hit it around 260-270 yards.
I purchased a TaylorMade QI10 Max ladies 3wood that was used. Price was reduced of course. I am very happy with the play of the QI10 3 wood. I was concerned about hitting it off a very tight lie but it works and it works very well.
Fun vid! If you are talking about great golf deals, I've love for you to take a look at any of the Maltby irons. They look like seriously top quality for half the price or less. Or if you want a truly budget brand, review some Pinemeadow clubs. I tried out their 7w and putter it wasn't bad considering the price.
Great video James. I remember bombtech making the grenade driver 7 or 8 years ago. Was a bit loud but performed great. Could you try the NEW Ram FXT irons. I've purchased them 2nd hand for £240 4-pw. They perform great. Choice of 4 shafts, lamkin grips and retail at £299 5-pw. Got to be worth a test ,👌👍
I have the FX77 Irons I cant recall James reviewing these, I have them in graphite stiff, D2 swing weight and they are blow per blow equal to my Apeks CF16 irons. Down side the price will jump £50 after a review : (
@@MarvinofMars i thought I'd take a chance at £240 and prefer them to my cobra forged tec. Hit them at the range the other day. Front to back dispersion was very tight. 7 wedge shots 131-135 yards. I'll see how they are on the course 👍
The best club I bought on Amazon was the Lazarus 7wood for $47. It’s budget for sure but performs great! I believe you have reviewed their wedges. Give their fairway woods a try James.
Something that I dont like about the new fairway woods is they just sound kinda more dull or like theres less there. I have been a fan of the more i guess to say hollow metal sound fairway woods offer. Dont get me wrong, still good fairway woods, but I like that sounds the bombtech makes more just because it feels better for feedback
I bought a Callaway Rogue ST Max 5wood from eBay in Excellent condition for $100 with a $13 ship and a Cobra King Forge Tec 4 Hybrid for $115 new. Love finding a bargain. I may possibly be Cheaper than you James.😊
Bombtech was my first set of clubs. I got a driver and 3w for like... $99. The BT 3.0 3w was amazing. I upgraded to a Sim2 max ti which I can't even hit at all. Might be time to switch back.
About a month ago, I found a set of brand new '21 Wilson Staff CB irons 4-PW for $494 dollars. Power seller from Ebay, absolutely one of the best buys I have ever made...
Just saw this combo set on Amazon in Canada. $670.00 Canadian dollars or about £385. Amazon Canada is a bit off on their pricing. Better options out there for that kind of money.
My Haywood's are ridiculous. I am waiting for my new 5 wood, my whole bag is lefty Haywood. My whole bag is $1600 brand new with upgraded shafts and grips.
There are good deals out there to make a nice set,ive done four at this stage, the most expensive ,single club Ive bought was a lovely nike 3 wood at 60€my budget is usually around 50€, for a single club, if you take ur time they are some nice branded clubs out there for good money,of course there are plenty that are not big branded that are out there too,my irons were probably one of my best deals just a year ago lynx black cats about €200 down from over €400 they were a display set lovely clubs to hit, plus I will refurbish any club I have to so what I pick will be good value for money, the most unusual club I have is a lacoste putter lovely blade, bought from a nice man, forget about hens teeth these putters cant be bought, because no body can find them,it's re sale would be would awful lot more than i paid for it.and yes I haVe used it.the reality is golfers in the majority are like fishermen with flies.this latest fly is going to be the one. 3:33
Went to order a low cost complete set to get back into golf (haven't played in 24 years) advertised it for x amount of dollars. Went to pay for it.... double the price what the hell.
The problem is that people are brainwashed by the major brands at ridiculous prices and are afraid to take the less expensive brands out at the risk of being ridiculed by their friends, when the less expensive clubs would make no difference to certain handicap levels.
In over 30 years of playing golf and having spent thousands of dollars on clubs, only a single one has ever lowered my scores. I bought a Titleist Volkey Spin Milled 58° wedge off eBay for about $40 used and when I don’t do something stupid like blade it or hit fat, it puts the ball nearer to the pin then any other wedge I’ve ever tried. I liked it so much that when one of my golf buddies had been struggling with his short game, I bought a second one off eBay to give to him. Sadly, I was out of town the next weekend, but that first time he used it, he not only broke 90 for the first time, he shot an 86 and said the club really helped him. Sadly, he passed away from cancer the following spring.
It's the same old story - the golf club, no matter the cost, is just one of the factors, the major factor is your swing. James shows that (maybe not consciously) time and time again.
So, i recently purchased the Bombtech 3.0 Driving Iron (16°).
220-230 yards off the tee, dead straight, 90% of the time (note, I'm 62).
Quite pleased with it.
Invaluable that someone informs the public of other club options. Well done.
Last month I bought an Adams Tight Lies 3 wood and 5 wood from Rockbottom Golf. They were only $70 apiece brand new. I absolutely love them. Did the same with adams hybrids. Fun to hit...and saved plenty.
I have the 3 wood which is amazing
Hey James, would you consider looking at the new RAM Dtc stuff? FXT line looks quite interesting, nothing out on it as of yet!
Tried buying these a year ago but by the time shipping and taxes were added it almost doubled the price so didn't bother and bought 2nd hand M4 driver and 3 wood off eBay for a good price, am now considering getting something new and at that price, keep them coming mate.

Australia is the same

I bought my Bombtech clubs directly from their site. Received them in about 5 days. Great clubs for the price
After seeing your vid about the Macgredor driving iron I bought the 4iron. It came 2 days after ordering it. I love it. My new fave club. I rarely hit it off line. It’s definitely my go to club. Thanks mate.
Bought a Callaway Rogue 7 wood from eBay when I was just getting back to the game after a long layoff.
Pretty cheap and I'm still loving it.
My best online deals have been a Cobra Aerojet 5 wood for $100 on global golf and a new Zebra putter for $175 after discounts.
@James_Robinson_Golf___90 🖕🏼off scammer

Good to see more budget club testing James, the best bargain I got was a Adam’s hybrid from golf clubs for cash, I only payed £35
Theres a lad up in my local club, the uses the bombtech driver from years ago called the Grenade

New to the game and instead of going crazy I bought the Lazarus wedges and I’m impressed, and shocked
Hi James the best the clubs I've bought online where Taylormade Stealth. I love them.
What about the Ram driver new for £59.99 or Mazel Driver £109.99 on Amazon?

Got my PXG driver on an end of year deal. Love it!
I bought the decathlon beginner set two years ago, and the 4.5 hybrid is sill in my bag.
Bought these last week, took on range Fri & were in bag on Sat. Great performance, great look. I worry about how durable they are but let’s see.
Would love to see you test the Adams golf woods and maybe the whole set irons and driver.
The best club I bought on Amazon was the Lazarus 7wood for $47. It’s budget for sure but performs great! I believe you have reviewed their wedges. Give their fairway woods a try James.

I like the dull sound. To each their own, I guess...
Nice review. Have you ever tested the Majek hybrid irons? I have searched in vain on RUclips for reviews on them.
MIZUNO st230 max - £200 on eBay claims of only being hit on the range - awesome driver!
Would love to see you do a review on Maltby irons or driver the irons are supposed to be some of best ever for a DTC product
I have the wedge set in ‘Volcano’ finish. Easy to hit and I get lots of compliments on them
Brought a Mizuno MP-R12 60degree for £25 in 2012. Was like new still playing it today.
I bought a Callaway Rogue ST Max 5wood from eBay in Excellent condition for $100 with a $13 ship and a Cobra King Forge Tec 4 Hybrid for $115 new. Love finding a bargain. I may possibly be Cheaper than you James.😊
Always interesting to see what you are going to test.

Ok this video helped me decide. Just ordered their 14 club set for $500
I bought an M4 3 wood hl at 16.5 degree from ebay and it almost brand new and only cost me £60. If you ask me thats a great deal
I bought the 3 hywood and love it have a 7 wood on the way
3 wood seems to be only available in the driver deal at £130.
Interestingly the 5 and 7 woods are £290 EACH.
Strange pricing
About a month ago, I found a set of brand new '21 Wilson Staff CB irons 4-PW for $494 dollars. Power seller from Ebay, absolutely one of the best buys I have ever made...
Surprised you haven't tested lazrus irons or their fairway woods yet. They're very decent for the price.
Just saw this combo set on Amazon in Canada. $670.00 Canadian dollars or about £385. Amazon Canada is a bit off on their pricing. Better options out there for that kind of money.
Ebay Bomb tech, driver and 3 wood combo, $150.. and $15.00 shipping.
My Haywood's are ridiculous. I am waiting for my new 5 wood, my whole bag is lefty Haywood. My whole bag is $1600 brand new with upgraded shafts and grips.
James are you gonna try and go to a Phillies game next week?
I have bombtech’s wedges and they do the job well for me
Just bought a set of king cobra oversized tours for 40 shipped from ebay
Mazel is a brand on Amazon I'd be interested in hearing about.
Maltby irons from golf works are the best irons for the money. Unreal.

Theyre solid entry level but once you outgrow it you'll see how much it drops off
My best buy was a Titleist TS3 #3 Wood / 16.5 Degree / Stiff Flex Tensei AV Blue 65 Shaft for £108 from Golfclubs4cash.. In mint condition as well ❤
Went to order a low cost complete set to get back into golf (haven't played in 24 years) advertised it for x amount of dollars. Went to pay for it.... double the price what the hell.

have mine coming this week! lfg
Try their wedges
It is strange that the corresponding 7 wood is £291 on Amazon????? On its own.
What a great sales shot, cheap no , budget !!!!
shot cut 1:16?
I would be too tempted to yell "BOOOOM" every time I hit a drive.
It's nothing to do with jack hamm or the guy that yells boom.
Facebook Marketplace - Honma LB 280 $100 AUD 3i -> SW. Buttery Japanese steel. As good as the Mizuno MP60'S I had previously.
Just looked them up but as per they don't cater for lefthanders 😡
It's the same old story - the golf club, no matter the cost, is just one of the factors, the major factor is your swing. James shows that (maybe not consciously) time and time again.
Haha do my best 😂👍🏼🙌🏼
No lefthande clubs
But it won’t go into his bag. He has new expensive clubs through his whole bag
Or two for half price.
Get away from my ball duck!!!
