Would be interesting to see the rear tyre's of the trx6 have a makeshift track over them and front steers only 👊
Great video. Crawler, country looks great under snow.
I wish we could get some snow so I could run my tracks. That's about the only time that they shine.
Maybe with some different tires. Maybe 2.2 on the 6 x 6. You'd go somewhere then, but not much better.
I really love having my tracks on one of my trucks, but they just don't perform unless you got snow or sand or something to perform in.
@ezboyrc553 I heard it snowed not to much north of you. Maybe you can build a mud pit!
fun to see some snow content,
im from iceland and play with both rc and 1/1 offroaders in snow, the air down principle works also with the 1/10 scale, remove foams from tires and have a non vented tires on beadlocks. made a my trx4 better in snow but tracks are still best
I think the questions was truly answered, the 6x6 was pretty useless in the snow 🤭🙂 but the Defender did great 👍 thanks for sharing 👍....Harry
@@SCALE_SLOTCARS_AND_RC hahaha
Different tires might have helped it a little bit. But with that. Wet packing snow It didn't have a chance, though.
@ezboyrc553 Yes, it was a challenge, I bet ...and the fact that the snow was the height of the truck wouldn't have helped either 🫢
Trx6 are good in Snow, I use stock 1.9 canyon trails on mine, but the traxxs will almost always beat it. I’m currently working on a track set for the trx6 so it’ll follow my tracked trucks. (3d printers are awesome)
My other best snow truck is my sherp, I have a few videos of it on my channel, and a few more coming, it beats even the traxx in most snow conditions (and it floats!)
Another tip I’d give is to adjust the tension on these tracks, they seem a little too loose
Cool, good driving Wyatt.
Much appreciated! 👏
Yeah my trx4 didn’t make it far in deep snow either. Those trax definitely get it done in the snow.
kongs will lol awesome detail in the vehicles
😎😎👍👍🥶
Tracks sure make a difference in the snow. I bought a new set for my atv this year and now we have hardly no snow. Lol should have bought these years ago, im thinking an old sled too might make it never snow again. Hope all is well and stay safe.
@@WoodsUnknown haha some winters were dry too! I had thought about asnow blower but def happy I didn’t get one it would be rarely used.
Nice snow run!
The biggest issue the trx6 is having is it doesn't have the same ground clearance as the tracks. The trx6 is dragging its axles and belly through the snow, basicly making it have to push the snow and drag itself through the snow. You should make a video with 2 trx4s with the same axle clearance, one have the trax and the other have tires.
You should get some proline Baja pro x in 2.2 if you can fit them they are amazing and I think they would be some good competition for the trax
Have you tried paddle tires on the trx6. S
Some on the front maybe.
How long do the tracks take to put on and take off? I think I’m going to get some eventually but if it takes an hour to swap and causes a headache… 🤷🏼♂️
If you don't have brass portal covers only about 5 minutes. If you have brass you'll have to put plastic back on first. I did it in about 20 25 minutes
@@hellorc7678oh gotcha. Yea I guess it’s not terrible if you plan on having good conditions for a few track crawls in a row but definitely not something I’d swap mid crawl even in the summer 😅😂
The next logical step? Scx6 vs tracks 🤣
I have the Traxx on my 2021 Bronco, stock electronics and suspension. It does really well. Tires just don’t work in the snow. I have some snow chains on order , curious to see how they do
I've heard good things about those chains.
@@hellorc7678I’ve had middling luck. The chains seem to all be the same and the chains themselves seem to be too small to help on snow (maybe ice?) What you really need is wheel speed and good tires like Baja pro X tires. They rub the 21 bronco pretty good but I run them on mine in the snow all the time. Also use a small ~1400mah battery up front and I’d entirely remove the stock plastic battery tray to cut weight (best for performance)
That poor defender has been smoked the last few runs, do yall have another motor laying around for it? I’ve probably got a couple brushed motors laying around here if ya want or need.
Also wouldn’t mind stopping by and hanging out for a few, it’s been a while. It’d be cool to see how those traxx compare to my High Trail on Fling Kings in the snow we’re getting tonight!
Try the Baja pro x tires. With some wheel speed they’re incredible in the snow. My nice heavy Trx4 on high gear was unstoppable and I’m from up north so I got tons of lake effect snow
@@DRZ-RC 😃I think we may have a motor in the big box of stuff I bought 😀😀I can’t remember tho haha
I can’t wait to unbox. You’re too kind. And yea sometime soon we will have to do a snow run😀
@ right on. No problem. I’m free all weekend, if y’all want to do a snow run. If not, no biggie, just figured I’d throw it out there while we’ve actually got some decent snow on the ground.
Tracks are always superior in snow and mud, was shocked you thought tires would be better, now Tracks are awful on rock!!!!
Man I thought that 6x6 would do better... I've got the MN86S thats the G wagon with a BL3650 3900
I so what that 6 wheel dirve I'm thinking of modding mine into a 6WD I don't like those soft bodies though, I like a detailed hard body, for $600 I'd expect a nicer body than what traxxas puts on there.
Figures, Rover always whips a mercedes LOL.
Needs paddles on rear
