Same here, got the recall done in summer '19 and now my blower is also done. As you describe, i can hear something moving inside the dash but no air blowing... the scary party is that when on full blow option, it smells like electrics burning and starts to smoke through the upper vents... yikes !
My E92 for a couple weeks now has had squeaking noises coming from the vents whenever the heat is on. Today, I put the heat on and a loud vibrating noise is coming from the glove box area. To the best of my knowledge the recall has already been taken care of from the previous owner but is this a clear sign that my blower motor is gone? I’m going to call the dealership Monday to double check on this recall but that loud vibrating noise is concerning.
My neighbour had the same issue with the motor not working, the single CAN wire to the blower and power all checked/correct - so replaced the control unit and it worked.

i'm thinking the blower becoming harder to turn initially could have been causing the additional heating of the wiring. just thinking how the connection could be explained . i have rust on my 09 335i and the blower just stopped working as well , i did check the wires and the old harness was scorched
BMW-E90-HQ This is a brand new one that came out this past Friday. I don’t believe you can check any vins yet. wtop.com/recalls/2020/01/bmw-recalls-about-357k-vehicles-for-takata-air-bag-inflators/
Hi I have a 3 series and I am having transmission issues, at first it started to slip, it has a delay to reverse, and if I switch to manual shift it works fine but than one of a sudden it fails, doesn't drive at all, the rpms increase but the vehicle doesn't drive and a gear light comes on on the dash. When I reset the computer with obd2 it starts driving but ceeps slipping ones in a while, you can see a video on my RUclips channel
Hey man seen a comment that you were from North Carolina as well I’m in the Charlotte area and was wondering if you know anywhere that could do my valve cover, oil pan, and oil filter housing gaskets ?
Hi...nice vid. I have a question. I tried to test the fan directly with 12v and the fan starts and stops 2 seconds later every time I do it. It's that normal. Thanks.
Is this recall just on the 09 335is? Or the 09 328is as well? Also funny that I was watching your videos and heard you mention Charlotte! I live in Charlotte too and have been taking my car to Hendrick in northlake for EVERYTHING. It is nice to know there’s some other places I can check out!
BMW-E90-HQ wow! I better check and see if mine has been replaced! My 335i that I had before this 328i gave me so many problems, but I’m sure that’s because I had one of the worst and first years of that n54 engine! And when I moved to Charlotte 2 Years ago, I felt like the constant braking made having the car unbearable😂! I want to keep this 328i for a while.
Recall is about wiring issue, because these can rub against each other until the isolation of the cables rubbing angainst other creates shortcircuit, then fire. How or why the cables rub against others?? From small vibration of either blower motor or from road or from both. Blower motor broken is nothing to do with the recall.

Oh my that is scary
@@BMWE90HQ I guess it's the common fault when the blower is stuck just a bit so the motor can't turn the blower fan.
I’m having the same exact thing now it went out completely
Glad i heard about this recall my heat and ac stop working
Great video didn’t understand it before now I’m getting it done this Thursday

Had the blower motor wiring and air bag recall done last year. Sounds like another airbag recall? Where did you get the BMW banner on your wall?

And now there’s more air bag recalls including this year model and many others. Damn Takata.
I’m lucky mine isn’t affected by the this one.

I had that blower motor recall done in July and now I’m having the same problem as you it turns on but doesn’t blow any air
I think they’re just old now mine didn’t look like it was in very good condition once I took the cover off of it.

Is the blower motor located under the glove box in e92 aswell?
Yes it is the same setup

Great video! My car has the same problem. Do you know where i can find the a new Harness wire from? I've searched everywhere.
Mines isn’t good. Well the motor box that holds the motor isn’t good

It’s for both models. All E90s I believe.
And yes I actually live in Indian Land. So just outside of Charlotte in SC.

I just did my took it to bmw dealer they just change the harness free but they’re charging me 600 to replace blower motor
Yep that’s essentially where I’m at except they did the harness almost 2 years ago now
It's an easy job and you can buy a whole new blower for $60!
Thank

if it doesn't spin freely that's the problem
