Thanks, man. Saved me from having to purchase a new blower motor. All I have the cash for is the chinesium special on amazon for 60-70 bucks instead of genuine on FCP euro for 277. I just unbolted the 8mm screws on the cabin air filter holder and spayed the silicone on the blower from there as I was running the heater. Took a couple minutes. Thanks again.
So glad you found this helpful. Thanks for the comment!
Nice video Sal, I believe the whole blower motor assembly was part of BMW recall program along with Takata driver airbag and positive battery terminal. Good to lube it for that added peace of mind though...Cheers.
Thanks for sharing, yea the recalls have been done by the previous owners luckily. Glad the noise is gone and the better reliability is a bonus for sure. Cheers
@@Sals_Garage Absolutely buddy...Keep 'em coming them vids!
For sure brother! 🙏
The blower motor plug is a recall, not the fan (unless the plug melted and damaged the fan socket too).
This is the correct one. Confirmed in fact because I just just put mine back in after needing the silicone treatment. My fan build date sticker is July 2010, the controller attached is Dec 2018.@@Assimilator1
Helpful video, but when I replaced my air cabin filter I could see the top of this fan motor and lubricated it with a couple squirts using a ‘straw’… squeaking solved without disassembling the dash!!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing 🙏
Same. 5 min job to remove the 6x 8mm screws on the cabin filter and in the hole on the passenger side you can access the blower fan and squirt with lubricant. I ran the blower for a few mins once lubricated and put back the cabin filter.
Hi....came across this video and saw your Video CarPlay screen mod......do you have a video or suggestions on how you installed it? I have a E93 2011 BMW......and love the looks of yours!! What brand is that?

I saw a led light do you have a video on that?
I figure if I’m going to take that off I might as well do a couple other things while I have it off.
No video but I used these: amzn.to/4aninas
Thank you so much mate! I sorted the problem on my BMW thanks to this video! 🙂👍🏽
Glad to help! Thanks for the comment 🙏
@@Sals_Garage I actually found a dried leaf in the fan too! The screw was missing when taking out my fan like yours also.
Thanks again!
@@clarkejw wow, good thing you did it now before major damage could occur.
What screen is that ? I have the same car and looking for a screen like this 🔥

Great tutorial
Thanks so much 🙏
Thank you so much for your video. I just did it on mine and it’s nice and quiet 😅 btw, I used the same lubricant
So happy to help! Thanks for the comment.
Thanks so much.
Anytime! 🙏
I hav a squeaky noise just like you described. I am thinking about getting a new blow motor..... Saw new one around $110~120.....My e90 is 14yrs old w/ low mileage (73,000 only) ........considering 14 yrs of usage + $110 ~120 cost, it might be a good idea to get a new one......I am still thinking ....
New one at that price is a good deal. I’d go for it. Good luck 👍
Do you have a link to one I should buy new. I’ll purchase through your link
Sure thing! amzn.to/47rf6nT
Hi, where did you get that screen for your BMW e90, I'm interested.

Found your video 🙂, I'll have to give silicone a shot.
Years ago I did something similar with my e46 330d, only I lubed the fan with WD40, it kinda mostly worked. The only thing was, whilst it smelt nice initially, after a week or so it stank of 'stale' mineral oil for several days! Bloody 'orrible it was!🤢😂
Oh 😆 thanks for sharing your experience. Keep us updated.
Does ur head unit have apple car play?
It does! We love it!

Mine started making the noise weeks later.
Ours is still good, for you I recommend replacing it. Good luck 👍
Thank you helped me, but the plastic put back is hell 🤣🤣
Anytime! Yea the reverse installation can be tricky but definitely doable.
Yes, putting that back is a challenge
True lol@@krishnaveniuppiah6591
You can remove the blower motor without removing the plastic duct. I have done it both ways. Leave the duct in place.
@@bobturnbull18 thanks for sharing. 🙏
you didn t post the noise
