I remember going to that football ground in 1991 ,we all ( 20 of us) put $10 aud in towards soccer boots for the teams playing. We were 18 yrs old.Fantastic memories. I really enjoy your videos! I wonder if you did the same in Sanur it would be the same vibe as Ubud?🙏☮️
Hi Vicki, that's a great memory. And that's also an interesting question if places like Sanur would share the same feeling or vide to Ubud - do different areas of Bali offer a different reception to someone looking to chat? We'll have to find out. :) Thanks for taking the time, Vicki.

Greetings from a new sub! I loved your little interaction with the paddy lady in Bhs Indo, it was cute. I’m heading to Ubud next month! It’ll my first time and I can’t wait.
Wayan's art peice is exactly what I want for my living room wall, glad that rice field land isn't being sold off, sad about that lady's back but she's still smiling😊

Hi Victor. it's so nice when you stumble upon something unexpected, isn't it? And chatting to people as you go is a nice walk. !0, 000 steps a day is a good walk! Cheers.

My only tip would be to make sure you're having fun making videos because it's not likely to be a high paying career move. Just enjoy yourself and make videos you want to make - not what you think others want to see. Cheers.
Hi Wayne, just saw new Sydney video on Indo food&lI ove rice field&sad so much was sold as during Covid many families needed help. At my Ubud Detox I choose specific bungalow as it neighbours with untouched area attracting fireflies which even Ubud folk say is rare these days. I believe some farmers are trying to go back to nature before it is too late. A Bali without nature is not really Bali anymore so balance is key I revisited Jatiluwih rice fields in March as it is quite lovely. You did well to spot rice field area that is not touristy. The people in Bali are lovely, take care
Hi Betty. it was surprising for me to find this field so close to the centre of Ubud, although it was surrounded on all side by buildings. I'm hoping you're right with farmers choosing to hold onto their land and not give it up to the developers. But I guess we'd all do the same thing if we found ourselves on hard times. The place you stayed with fireflies sounds great.
@fiascodagama1 Hi Wayne, the detox resort in Ubud mainly is firefly free and finally realised last year which area attracts them, also that bungalow has some rice fields below.Mind you one hour from Blue Mountains in Sydney I read in December on top of the glow worms the fireflies come out although these days it is hard to convince folk to go out of their comfort zone and try something new. I just read there is a firefly garden in Gianyar,I hope you go on my behalf as keen to see hopefully next year. Cheers 🍻
@@bettyboop7426 I know people who would have their lives changed if they were willing to go beyond the back fence a little - it's a shame. Thanks for the information on the fireflies, that might make for a nice video. I'll surely through Gianyar at some point.

Love the backroads where you meet the real locals. Hey, bluefish. Great idea to track some Gamelan down - maybe find a tutor who can give us a bit of history and layout of the instrument. Great video clear as👍 what is your camera.
Hi Chuck. Using a GoPro Hero 8 which hasn't let me down. Very small, light weight, portable, and discrete for the travel blog thing, i think.
