  • We’ve added to the fleet. For a time.
Brett and his dad are demo-ing the newest, biggest, baddest John Deere combine for a few days.
It is A BEAST. An expensive beast. But it can sure cut wheat!
We’ve traded the wheat for barley - after running into wet wheat.
And the scenery…OH THE SCENERY! ❤️❤️
All drone footage kudos go to Katy (Brett’s sister). Thanks, Katy!!!!

From dawn to dusk and beyond, farmers work is never done. And oh how I appreciate all farmers because I love to eat! I'm still trying to learn because I wasn't raised on a farm but my grandparents were. And I so well remember with one set of grandparents, there was only one combine for the "community" and when it was their turn to have it in their fields, I went with my Mother down to the Old Home Place (as we call it in the South) and I helped cook for the "thrashers"! Oh, how times have changed and thank goodness it has! Thanks again Tracy for another different view of the sunset!

Brilliant! I drove a cart for a week in Scotland in 1993. Damp would often stop us. we were getting 5 to 6 ton an acre in wheat. when I came to Australia, I told a friend and he said they were lucky to get 7 bags. Not as nutrient rich as UK, but they had the space. Could take hours to get round one run in a paddock. I'd love to see and do this some day, beautiful scenery and camera work.

Tracy, how does the experience compare with what you had done for so long? Such as stress and being an employee and not the machine owners. And how many acres does this farmer have in grain? I apoligize for all the questions but I never seen things like this before from south central Mn. And what is the distance in miles from one end of the cropland to the other for this farmer? Thank you Tracy for another wonderful video!!
