    Thanks for making this video as it was very helpful. I have a 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali and it's hard to find videos like this.
    I went ahead and let my 14 year old change the oil on it and he was excited! Made me remember when my dad use to teach me.

    One thing I don't see in your video is you open up the hood and open up the brake cap. So when you press the brake rods to get enough space for the pads to go over the rotor. The air will escape thru the brake fluid reservoir. Just to prevent any air bubble when braking.

    • @TheRealSkeptyk
      @TheRealSkeptyk  3 года назад +1

      Correct, i did not feel i needed to do that. I used the brake pad pushing tool to keep pressure immediately on the brake pads so I can mitigate any fluid back pressure, or any potential air gaps... when all is installed the brakes are bit mushy, the feel that is... however; make sure to pump the brakes pretty hard a few times and they will work just as normal... #minor brake hack.

      @@denvernuggets007 The drill slotted rotors are very aggressive and cause brake pad wear very fast. I am replacing mines back to regular also.

    Can someone confirm torque specs on the 19mm and 18mm nuts? The video says 150 lb-ft for the 18’s but that sounds really excessive for a nut that size.

    How many miles were on your truck? Mine is at 82k miles and thinking about replacing the pads. Also why didnt you just cut the rotors?

    • @TheRealSkeptyk
      @TheRealSkeptyk  Год назад +1

      For me, I try to make things simple, so yea for the price you pay on new rotors and less to deal with... I just bought new ones, hassle free.. that way you also eliminate the error of possibly having to think if the rotors weren't cut right if you feel something isn't right after driving it....

      You can, but your going to be pumping the brakes after you are done installing regardless.... but if you decide to open the over while you are pumping them just make sure to have someone watch it so it doesn't come spewing out on you. You'll have to pump the brakes slower than when you have the cap on.... basically push down the brake pedal to the floor each time until the fluid gets equally dispersed... again with cap on or with out its all do-able.
