Damn...between the woman suddenly coming back to life and laughing evilly while disappearing, the bathroom filled with blood ala The Shining, and the dark room full of eyes, whoever made this really knows how to set a horrific mood. That's not something you usually see with pixel horror games considering how much harder it is to scare someone with just pixels. Something about this game really hits different compared to similar pixel horror games.

idk if anybody wants to know this but u can go to that old's man apartment again with the flashlight (press left click for infrared mode) and u'll see a ghost in the bathroom

The fifth floor gets an extra plant to make up for the fact that, with the stairwell locked, they have absolutely no chance of escape if there's a fire.

There was a lot of atmosphere and tension that built up through this, I liked that there really wasn’t a singular antagonist and no direct threat was revealed until the very end of the demo.
Agreed. The fact that we are given hope with pistol ammo but not an actual pistol really spiced it up. I was feeling real dread until the very end.

I like how the monster isn’t some cheesy jumpscare either. Instead it’s more of a mysterious horror, as even when you see it you’re not sure exactly what it is, and even the kill screen is more of a genuine scare.

I love how horror game protagonists just walk into a place where something is clearly wrong and just start looting. No calling the cops when a body is sighted, don't preserve the scene, and more importantly....not getting the hell out as soon as said body/bodies are spotted. But, game logic, right? Lol *edit* ....and here is where I eat some of my words. Lol The dev clearly thought it through with blocking every avenue of escape and help. Good on them! 😀

How to make sure that a player wants to save the main character above and beyond the need to finish the game: make her so that, even pixelated, you can see she's HELLA THICC.

I'm surprised there aren't more demon apocalypse games. It's a good setting. Like when Kefka wins in FF6 and it's world of ruin time, instead of playing hero in a world-saving RPG the focus shifts to one of the citizens trying to survive. I imagine a humbaba would be terrifying in a horror survival scenario.

One of my favorite aspects of the channel is that you see games through and always try to leave a positive feedback. It'd be easy to make a sly comment like "oh so it's another 2D pixel horror game" "oh the twist is ___" but you never do. It's very considerate to look for the positives even when the game's real simple or pretty standard. There's nothing more badasshero than being kind and positive

I think this is the second game I've seen where a female protag wandering around in her undies causes her apartment complex to turn into monsters. If only we wore pants, the world would still be a peaceful place.

The building up towards a supernatural horror story was just great! During the beginning it could have been a normal thriller, but piece by piece the player sees that this is not the case!

Man, can we can talk about how she slept like a rock? Through people boarding things up, a portion of the building collapsing, whatever demon invasion happened to begin with.
I really like the main Protagonist of this, They seem Optimistic and you really dont see much of that in these sort of games. And Compared to other pixel sprite games this one looks fantastic, I loved the Scene with blood gushing out of the bathroom, and the room cut outs are really charming.
I don't like horror games but, you sir, make them enjoyable

the pressure to say something smart this early
I love how Manly talks to the characters like they can hear him. For example, in this video, he says to the MC, "Okay, let's go Claire!" It's neat to see someone get so into games, their narratives, and their characters in a healthy way. It's less, "I'm in control here," and more like, "let's work on these problems together!" I see too many Gamers™get WAY too into games that they replace what should be their human personality with them in a really damaging way. They simply can't function in a game without the MC being like them in some way; this tends to manifest in them being unable to connect to a character over something as small as, "the MC is a girl and I'm not a girl therefore I can't connect with them." Manly has MANY times taken the female persona on in games and it's always so great to see. I stan healthy masculinity.

pixexlart sidescrolling horror games excite me because their jumpscares don't hurt my chest and the very miniscule graphics make my imagination go wild. I think I remember the one where you operate a train and stop at transits to get supplies and the one where you are sole survivor killing every monstrous humanoids only to be implied at end that... you are the monster. Sadly the news is the dev gonna remake it in 3d. Tho, it may be feel even better!
