Here's the thing. Of course as the protagonist we're honed to think that the person stopping to help us might be a killer or something. But imagine being the one in the working car passing a broken down car on a desolate road in the middle of nowhere. You might help, but wouldn't you be extremely cautious as well, just in case it's a trap to rob you or maim you? It's a situation where circumstances justify both parties to not immediately trust each other.
Manly played a game called Hikeback awhile back. pretty much describes what you just said. But yeah, we have castle doctrine in my state. Hitchhikers beware.
Manly hid too far to the side in the closet at the end, so sadly you couldn't see what happened. If you watch the intruder go into the bathroom, you'll see the manager sneak in behind him and kill him (hence the final message about him not wanting to get police involved) so I guess he decided to go Chad for you in the end
Road safety tip: if, while driving, you ever come across any sort of a sudden obstacle that blocks the entire road (i.e. a few trees/trunks that seem easy to move out of your way, trash bins or just a lot of trash, road signs that aren’t supposed to be there and so on), just make a 180 and get out of there without exiting your car to remove the obstacle. Chances are that whoever placed those in front of you is nearby on the ready to ambush you the moment you leave your car. This game has reminded me of some tragic news that happen a lot because people hurry so much that they make rushed decisions without giving it a second thought. So stay safe people.
I remember this one time me and my crazy as all fuck brother in law were traveling to the beach (he had returned to get me) and we saw these branches in the road in the asshole of the night and my brother in law saw in the grass these dudes who looked like to be just waiting to ambush us,but he (his name is Joel) just dipped the foot on the gas pedal while lowering the glass windows screaming "NICE TRY YOU FUCKERS"
I've heard this is an urban legend and that there's no confirmed cases of someone "waiting" on the roadside next to obstacles in the road. But at the same time, I've also heard variations of this tale a lot from many separate sources, and it certainly _seems_ like something that could happen. Does anyone have a link to any news articles about this kind of thing? I'd like to be able to confirm whether this actually happens or not.
@@khunt5336 I only have anecdotes, but it definitely seems to be something that happens in developing countries, at the very least. Some of my coworkers from Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands have both explicitly warned us if you ever see trash or branches in the road to floor it, and also talked about times it's happened to them. Carjacking and violent crime is pretty common for them sadly. (One of the girls from Port Moresby would casually recount the times she had been mugged- once at machete point, the other at homemade shotgun point. Meanwhile all us white people are just there going 'WHAT THE FUCK')
That last hiding section just suddenly use your actual mic input is legit surprising honestly. I found it really funny too that Manly probably realized this quick enough and more than staying quiet he just turn off his mic input .
Actually I was wondering what would happen if he yelled at the mic calling for help, thus irritating the people in the other rooms, like the receptionist said.
Wow, one million already. You know, this channel feels so indie, y'know? Feels like it's so very small, because of the games that it plays. It doesn't feel big, it's so much different than any other channel. Manly has a unique sense of humor, playing abstract and less known games. Congrats, Manly. Thank you for uploading. TWO YEARS AGO?? For any young drivers out there, from someone who has run into the road block situation: Never get out to clear it if it looks purposeful. Two options being go back the way you came (even in reverse) or go over the blockade. You can worry about gas levels or car repairs later, when you're still alive. Even if you have a buddy with you, it could be a big group waiting off the side of the road, it isn't worth it to find out. Hell, if worse came to worse, drive into the group. They will move.
I also had a run in with a roadblock situation. I was driving around 1am on a lone country road in the middle of nowhere and came upon cut logs very purposely stood up on their ends across both lanes. As soon as I stopped, I heard movement in the trees off to my left, but it was so dark that I couldn’t see anything. I pulled my concealed carry pistol and expected trouble, but then noticed that whatever quiz kids had set up this ambush had forgotten to put logs across the wide grass shoulder on the right side. I just went around it and called a Sheriff’s Deputy friend of mine as soon as I got signal again. They were gone by the time he showed up, but he said he saw the logs I mentioned pitched into the weeds. No idea what that was all about, but I sincerely doubt they’d planned to jump out and sing Happy Birthday to me.
I honestly really appreciate this dev and portraying horror in it's real world experience. And I think they do a great job that will reach a lot of people and their real fears. I'm impressed
It's the staying at a motel as a single woman simulator lol, it felt scary on a different level because I've lived situations where weird shit happens and I have to be hypervigilant
@@pelliorosh Honestly I traveled by myself and stayed in all sorts of hotels. I never thought I was going to be killed or hurt. I always had my guard down. I’m grateful nothing bad happened to me. I need to be more careful.
yea the coffee being free had nothing to do with it, also it was a machine, of which takes money, and only money, meaning it was not free but having a minigame where you take cash out of your pocket wouldn't be that great.
Where did the coffee machine come from / go? It seems a bit ridiculous. If you want to drug someone, there are far better ways to do so (any bar) than via... a coffee machine?
7:25 That is actually pretty interesting. It looks like the guy is set to spawn from your car when leaving the store. The last time I played this, I parked the car near to the street, and don't believe that I've seen that guy being close to the second row.
Well it is kinda hinted to some gang that kidnaps people. That guy telling stories in the gas station could be one of them stalling you for this one to do something to your car so it would brake down later. Logs on the road would make you go out and waste time with them while your car gives out (because no one i seen play this game tried to turn it off, which is logical). It would take a few tries in this game to find out how many people could be involved but you would need to have a skeptical eye to everyone.
"I didn't understand how somebody could leave another human being stranded like that." If I was driving and I wasn't in a car with at least three other people, in that circumstance I wouldn't stop either.
Neptune has little to do with sprinting. Perhaps you wanted Mercury? I could also see Diana. And, of course, there's Nike. But anyway, remember how you always run faster after drinking a soda?
@Mythraen I think it was a gasp like "oh God", sprint mechanics and specially ways to increase your sprint usually mean you will be running for your life
I see so many picking apart every inch of this game yet see no one commenting on the open trunk of the car in front of where the coffee machine was, the door that had someone peeking out of, etc. The moment I read that the manager's demeanor had changed, I completely expected him to toss the MC into it, which was likely the intention of whomever drugged her in the first place. Just an interesting little aspect I'm surprised I hadn't seen more people comment on given how much people focused on the coffee machine.
@Cloak of Amarillo I noticed all of those things, but regardless: who carries around a coffee machine in the trunk of their car in the hopes of finding someone to drug at a skanky motel? Nobody: that's who. If you want to drug someone, there are far less convoluted ways to do it. Examples: 1. Go do it at a bar. 2. Carry around a syringe of some strong benzodiazepine or barbiturate, or even scopolamine. This game was just badly written and I doubt it was based on real events.
@@vorpal22 tbf the alleged effects of scopolamine are unproven because it's heavily under-researched, and the dose is dangerously easy to fuck up and end up being lethal. That and it's not just something you could get your hands on
@vorpal22 Yeah I feel like they should have made the protagonist a little older and have a shady little bar next to the motel she goes to and has a drink while she waits for her room to be ready.
I know this comment is three months old but. I'm usually not too fazed by horror games that revolve mainly around jumpscares. But this type of psychological horror game? I had no idea what to expect and I'm pretty sure I held my breath for most of it. By the time it reached the motel part I was hiding behind my hands because I /knew/ it wouldn't turn out right, but I just couldn't predict /what/ would happen. I'm actually really grateful I found this channel because my interest in horror games had kind of subsided but the games Manly finds are so great. It's not even me playing but I'm immersed like I'm there firsthand lol. This is true horror. I love it.
I'm a scaredy-cat but my curiosity gets the best of me And at least reading the comments and Manly playing it makes it less scary And I ofc watch this videos In the day 😂
Don't know why, but this kept me at the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was the real danger to the girl. Guess it's just a relatable situation
Not always so calming. He's funny when you generally hear him get scared. There was a level of sterness to his voice while he played Mother .. something he said to the kids.. I don't recall made me sit up straight even though I'm likely old enough to be his parent lol. He is calming though. I think he should have an audio book deal. That would be bliss.
The text messages from parents while you're trying to drive or walk home, asking you to be safe, but they are constantly messaging you, is so damn accurate. My mom does it all the time. Edit! Thanks for the 1K likes!! 🥰

@@crusaderthestranger5982 he probably did. As soon as he saw that there was no coffee machine, he immediately told the player to go back to their room and to not get out. He probably didn’t want to scare the player of something he knew about (which would also ruin the motel’s reputation ig).
@@madoric13 Now that you mention it that does seem to be the case, though it also seemed like he thought the character was high on their own accord and not drugged by someone, also the fact of not calling the police is still kinda risky.
Right? Every slim Jim came with a story about the jenkin's boy abrupt disappearance. Every cup of coffee came with ominous warnings regarding phantoms by the old abandoned graveyard and buying a gallon of gas was rewarded with a flippant remark about how all the people disappearing couldn't possibly be the work of a serial killer. I blame cell phones for killing the mystery.
@@josephmatthews7698 Supposedly, milk cartons also used to have pictures of lost kids on them. I guess in the 80s or 90s. But how long ago did that fizzle out? I kinda think I've seen it, but I also can't remember it ever being a common thing.
This game gives good life advice...and that's people can be dangerous no matter their circumstance. You might pick up a hitchhiker and find a dirty serrated spoon in your colon half way down the Interstate.
Only 10 mins in and I love how accurate the texts are. The parents constantly texting. The random “holly?” Instead of just asking the question. Love it
this was a real good one. Atmosphere was top notch, but yeah only really got scary until the end. It had a good implication that the manager and really the whole town knew about the problem but they were trying to subetly get people in and out without getting murdered.
No, although this comment is from a year ago, I believe the gas station dude was in on it and the white van manly saw earlier was the one that fucked up the car, and the black car that manly tries to pass is the one who put the logs up. The guy that doesn't talk to you at the gas station and picks you up I think is the only genuinely good person, and I guess the manager was "okay" too, I think Tommy was weird too but whatever.
As a mid-20s something, I had to stay in a motel for almost a week for a continuing Ed class. (8 hours from home, I drove, of course!) When I walked up to the front desk, the guy looked at me and point blank asked, "Are you here by yourself?" Naively, I answered truthfully but he was kind and put me in the room above the main office. I'll never forget him for being kind to me that day. I even had car issues that week!! 😂 (It was a wild stay...there was a lot of deaf people there for some convention and the cops were called...the cops jump started my battery for me.) The protag hiding in the closet was quite a scary scene for me...🥴 Brought back those fears I had while staying there those days...
Thank you for sharing your story, something about it made me feel like I can hear it being told, like a conversation is going on, weird I guess, but anyway, thank you
Lol, it reminds me of some places in the UK. At this old petrol station in the Midlands everything was super expensive except the fuel. My dad filled his tank for like £25 but we bought two drinks and two sandwiches and it costed nearly £20 😭
She probably didn't get the whole tank filled up. If someone asks "Can I get $10 on (this pump?)" it's probably not pre-paying for the entire tank. Also, she looks to be driving a later 1980s Chevrolet Caprice. Very comfortable car to drive on road trips.
Where I live filling up my entire tank is around 90€ ($97) while I can buy a 15kg bag of dog food for around 20€($21). I understand this game isn't set in my country, but it was just a random youtube comment, it's not that deep.
When that damn door swung open and Tommy was in there, it scared the ever living hell out of me! And the person outside the window at 28:52! Thats nightmare fuel!
everyone's mad at ghost coffee but i think this game actually really perfectly encapsulated that anxiety feeling of not knowing what the actual danger is and the dread and anticipation of when the inevitable threat is going to occur. like i was on the edge of my seat, will it be a hitchhiking danger? a ghost on the road, some kind of wendigo story? your room being invaded while you're asleep? i'm sure the story was embellished for the sake of gameplay experience and removing some linearity, but the realness of a young woman getting drugged and somebody trying to invade your room while you're vulnerable and cut off from help is horribly scary and way more relatable thus scarier than "creepy creature kills you." the hints at the supernatural were a great way to build anxiety and gaps in the main character's knowledge about her situation and the intent and meaning behind the other character's intentions/actions and oddities like her car breaking down and trees blocking a road on which you've *seen* another car go ahead of you on. it's a good way to make the player empathise with anxiety someone in a vulnerable, untrustworthy situation depending on strangers would experience, because the unknown and unexplainable is what supernatural horror and suspense relies on; it's not scary if you know everything about what you're supposed to be afraid of. sorry there wasn't a three minute slideshow presentation explaining the coffee machine and that it ruined the whole game for you. thanks for coming to my 3:00am ted talk, now go to bed
Totally agree. I haven't seen anyone mention this but on a more meta level the game doesn't even let us know what the actual gameplay mechanics are, which increases anxiety because we don't know what kind of horror game to expect. The description of the cola had me expecting that we would have to sprint from danger, while having to pay for stuff had me thinking that resource management would be a concern. So with things like only being able to carry 1 item in each hand. All these red-herrings and misleading gameplay hints help to make the player feel distrustful, beyond just the story stuff.
Kudos to the devs for including that parked car right before you reach the two logs blocking the road. If that happened to me, no way would I get out of the car to try to move them. (Also leaving them there would guarantee that the next person has to stop, lol.)
i really appreciate that you show how you play naturally- not opening the door, for example, even though it would've showed the viewer a new jumpscare. you really give us the experience of the games, rather than showing everything that COULD happen.
Congratulations on 1M!!! My mom officially knows you as the "Bedtime Guy" because I play your streams as background for when I sleep ^-^/) Your voice is soothing, and your narration makes these types of games feel like a bedtime story of sorts
@@BurnBird1 but one of the good things about Manly is that he doesn't really scream at jump scares. He's more realistic, less of an overacting histrionic like PewDeePie and some others.
Dad: "Drive safe Holly." Also Dad: *texts her multiple times while she's driving* lmao, I would have just turned my phone off after like the second or third message. Whatever people want to tell me it's not more important than my life.
This one was definitely weirder than the first one. I feel like it was doing well up through meeting the weird cleaner/handyman, but then it fell apart super quickly. Was the person hiding in our closet a dream? Why did the manager have pills in the room and why did we take them? I actually kind of like the disappearing coffee machine, but it'd feel more real if it was along side one or two other vending machines. I'd be easier to hide a fake with real ones, plus it would lean into the unreliable narrator (Did she get a coffee or was it something from another machine?). Plus I recognize that style of coffee machine, never seen it outside of a hotel/motel/truck stop, but it's never on its own.
Person hiding in the closet was probably a side effect of the drugged coffee; apparently the protag was being really loud as well, despite us not seeing anything; so it kinda adds up that it may have caused hallucinations among other things. The pills were probably in the table because it seems like the killer was known for doing this; so it makes sense the manager had time to place some in everyone's rooms just incase. I'm pretty sure the coffee machine was a straight up plant, although it might have been easier to hide it alongside real ones; it was probably necessary to be in a easily accessible location; or perhaps even right next to their room so they could pull it inside. Also, which it again being a fake machine, it doesn't seem too strange for it to be used in an unnatural way. Perhaps that was intentional to give the player a sense of "something's wrong, this shouldn't be here."
reminds me of the drives my family would take in the countryside to visit family. it always kind of unnerved me at night but its super pretty during the day.
To be honest, this game perfectly encapsulates the visceral terror of being a stranded woman alone at night. _Everything_ feels like a potential threat and you're constantly on guard. I was driving home super late this one night, and got lost in some backwoods b/c my nav screwd me up. That was terrifying. Then I finally find my way route and realize gas was getting low. Took _forever_ to find a station that was open, and by the time I did I was desperate and near empty. Still in completely unfamiliar territory. So there I am, at a random unlit gas station, in a small, eerily silent and _completely_ unlit town out of desperation. I tried pumping my gas at the only functioning pump, but was so on edge that I hopped right back in my car and decided to just get back on the highway and keep driving until I broke down.....b/c that would've been better than the stuff my mind was conjuring up. By some freaking miracle, I actually stretched the tank to get me 99% home, and when the car finally ran out of gas, I just let it legit _roll_ on fumes until I came across a fully active Shell gas station in a safe area. Nearly cried, because I genuinely though I wasn't gonna make it home that night.
Being a woman alone at night is a truly terrifying experience. Just last night I was getting home in an Uber and my driver, who didn't speak my language, was taking a strange, unintuitive route. It was 4 in the morning, I was drunk and I legit thought I might have gotten into the wrong car and was getting my ass hauled all the way across the city to have unspeakable things done to me. Fortunately, it was only my late night alcohol-induced paranoia getting the best of me, and the navigation picked an odd route to get to my house. Still, it was very scary at the moment. Sucks that there are reasons for us to take every little thing as a threat.
I had to drive home at 3:00 AM once and got a bit lost in the countryside because the map app was being a bit weird but I was never scared and I even saw a barn owl. No one can even see you at night anyway.
I feel like I personally would trust personal of motels. Because realistically if they were doing stuff like kidnappings of murders you would hear about disappearances and it would bring too much suspicion on the institutions so I feel like it would be really unlikely that the motel owner is doing wrong things and most likely a killer would be a random person and not a staff just like in the game
They are true stories the same way horror movies are "based on true stories" they take a real event then throw it in the bin and make up a whole new story that has barest possible links to the true story like a location or one character's name.
finding this series really scary. the more symbolic horror games usually don't do it for me, though i still can enjoy them for the style or story. can't wait to see what the next game in the series has in store for us.
Either the manager was in on it or he had real suspicions and kept the rooms prepped and ready at all times just in case. I get the feeling a lot of these people knew more than they were letting on.
The first F2F playthrough you made is one of my favorite videos, since you somehow managed to make it tense as hell, by only running into a single jump scare. Particularly the scene where you missed the intruder walking up the stairs.
_She was already at risk texting while driving_ The moral of this - be prepared. If she hadn't needed to stop for gas, she would have been breezing along home. Motels are always creepy. I liked this one better than the first Fears to Fathom I think. The pacing was a bit off agree, but the being picked up by the stranger and motel parts made up for any slowness.
I want to know what would happen if you tried to crash your car or get hit by a car. Walking out of the gas station without paying for the dog food could also be interesting. It's always fun seeing what happens in these types of games when you do something really stupid or terrible.
I’m going to be honest. I’m somewhat similar to the female in the story. I drove down shady country roads by myself and stayed in worse motels/hotels. I really never thought about my own safety, until watching this video. I’m definitely going to be more cautious in the future. I do have some trips planned and money already spent. I’m definitely going to beg some friends if they can go with me.
These things don't often happen. The vast majority of people are really nice. It's deffinetly best to stay safe, but you don't have to be looking over your shoulder 24/7. Just plan ahead, trust your gut, and it'll be all good.
The name makes me think of an older game called The Norwood Suite. I watched Vinesauce Vinny play it years ago. It's a fantastic game with a unique theme and tone. Manly would love it, I'm sure.
So I was driving down a lonely deserted road and passed a guy in overalls leaning on an axe with his thumb out. I stopped to let him in. He seemed really surprised and thankful that I had picked him up. "I was afraid nobody was going to pick me up because they'd think I was an axe murderer or something." He said. I replied, "Well, I'm not too worried. The odds of there being two axe murderers in one car are extremely unlikely."
A bit of a spoiler(?) for the video ! I genuinely got scared when the intruder popped out of the closet, it was something I really didn't expect and coupled with the loud noise really gave me a jump. I think it was because I was already initially suspicious of the closet but Manly opened it and there was absolutely nothing so it lulled me back into a false sense of security. I didn't expect for a jumpscare to happen at the closet a few seconds after he checked it ;;
Really glad to see the second game in this series, I quite liked the first and have been eager to see what would come next. While I agree this one wasn't quite as good as it took awhile to really build up speed, it's still a tense horror game. Alone in a sleazy motel room, surrounded by strangers, unsure of who if anyone to trust. Good stuff.
I just wanna say I really want to see more horror games that are based on real life experiences. Like the fact that it could actually happen to you makes it so much scarier to me.
You can get arrested around where I live. It’ll usually be a fine, but if you keep doing it they’ll take your license away and charge you with something more serious.
The actual game is based off of a series of incident in terms of Norwood which is based off of Norwood, Ohio. So this is actually a true story based in 1975 and if you look up “Larry Ralston” then you would understand where this story came from. If you look up bridge then you would see a stark resemblance to the game. I hope this can actually help y’all understand the history behind this since this happened at least years ago. It’s a good thing that these incident don’t happen anymore. The bridge that is shown in the game is called the “Norwood Creek Bridge” in Ohio USA. The hotel shown in the game is practically not there anymore in real life but it does take a lot of research to actually get it up and The closest city to the bridge area is “Foreman”.
Some of the information might be incorrect but it is for certain that it is based in Norwood, Ohio. The main characters name could just be anybody as far as it is aware. You can also look up Norwood, North Carolina but haven’t found any luck. Most likely this area is a very secluded area but in terms of modern day it is fairly develop so most of the setting in the game has pretty much been erased in real life.
I do wish for this set of "true story" horror games, they would choose more realistic stories and stick closer to how the person told them. This one is obviously not real (I can get being drugged by a coffee machine, but a ghost coffee machine that disappears after you drink from it? no....) plus the horror story cliches pull you out of it. If the character was being followed throughout the game and it climaxes in the motel by the character realizing someone has been stalking them since the gas station (which definitely has happened) and having the creepy guy try to break into the motel (also has happened) that would have been a creepier story than one with all the supernatural elements
Yeah the coffe machine part was quite idiotic for being "based on a true story". Did this girl just found a random ghost coffe machine or did the stalker went through all the trouble on setting a drugged coffe machine and then took the entire machine out after she used it? Either way is silly for a true story...
I wouldn't sleep at all if I had in my mind those stories, a broken car and a fucking window next to the bed that leads to the darkness outside to the highway. I would imagine someone could peak at that window and that is fucking scary
So I am 7min in and I already love the lore because few people know about hitchhiker ghost stories. Supposedly if you pick them up they follow you home. Kinda creepy. Also once again congratulations 👏on the one million 👏❤
MBH sounds so much like a school teacher I actually had a dream where he would make us play these horror games except they were real and if they were bad we would need to go to multiple places/games and he would get real mad at kids who didn't turn in the work because he would walk through most of the hard parts anyway.
I live in Wyoming and over the summer I took a couple of 6 hour road trips where there was literally nothing for hours but sage brush and pronghorn. This game really creeps me out after that

I watch too many news and true crime and yep, just get the hell out. It's nothing but bad news.
Or turned down the gain
Actually I was wondering what would happen if he yelled at the mic calling for help, thus irritating the people in the other rooms, like the receptionist said.

Could be blocking a hazard too, like a bridge that's down

A scary experience that I hope me and no one else experience's
Also props to you for going through that!
You can run over them no big deal

same here... not to mention that he is the only one thant actually walks a little bit faster than the others
It doesn’t look like he’s close enough to be coming from your car…
Well it is kinda hinted to some gang that kidnaps people. That guy telling stories in the gas station could be one of them stalling you for this one to do something to your car so it would brake down later. Logs on the road would make you go out and waste time with them while your car gives out (because no one i seen play this game tried to turn it off, which is logical). Well that’s how it happened in the story
Examples:
That and it's not just something you could get your hands on

this was a real good one.
In this games economy you can fill up your entire gas tank for $10, but a small bag of dog food is $5? That's some premium dog food.
Where I live filling up my entire tank is around 90€ ($97) while I can buy a 15kg bag of dog food for around 20€($21).

everyone's mad at ghost coffee but i think this game actually really perfectly encapsulated that anxiety feeling of not knowing what the actual danger is and the dread and anticipation of when the inevitable threat is going to occur.
like i was on the edge of my seat, will it be a hitchhiking danger? a ghost on the road, some kind of wendigo story? your room being invaded while you're asleep? i'm sure the story was embellished for the sake of gameplay experience and removing some linearity, but the realness of a young woman getting drugged and somebody trying to invade your room while you're vulnerable and cut off from help is horribly scary and way more relatable thus scarier than "creepy creature kills you."
the hints at the supernatural were a great way to build anxiety and gaps in the main character's knowledge about her situation and the intent and meaning behind the other character's intentions/actions and oddities like her car breaking down and trees blocking a road on which you've *seen* another car go ahead of you on. it's a good way to make the player empathise with anxiety someone in a vulnerable, untrustworthy situation depending on strangers would experience, because the unknown and unexplainable is what supernatural horror and suspense relies on; it's not scary if you know everything about what you're supposed to be afraid of. sorry there wasn't a three minute slideshow presentation explaining the coffee machine and that it ruined the whole game for you.

haha, i loved reading your comment!
Love this analysis!
Always loved manly's comment section, thanks for the ted talk!
actively read this at 3:00am, what foresight.
Interesting.. see I think it was the black car that manly tries to pass that put it up!
i really appreciate that you show how you play naturally- not opening the door, for example, even though it would've showed the viewer a new jumpscare. you really give us the experience of the games, rather than showing everything that COULD happen.

I think you’re over analyzing the game
@@ZiggyZiggurat possibly, but that can be fun at time for games like this. This game is super unsettling, and I like a lot of his ideas.
@@ZiggyZiggurat It’s a short horror game trying to sell itself on being a “true story”. Why wouldn’t we analyze it?

I love the face on the dogfood bag. That look of shock and anticipation.
By all means that rightfully MUST have been scary as hell. But, great nothing disastrous happened.
I'm so glad you made it home! I was on edge just reading this comment!
Shell to the rescue!

Manly talking to a random guy in the store straight off the bat x3 something a teenage girl would never do in a million years.
God, being creeped on AND being at a motel/hotel is my worst nightmares combined- they just feel so incredibly unsafe.
Based potential surprise sex victim 😂
It is so inspiring to have watched this channel grow. He just kept doing what he loved, and doing it consistently, and doing it well.
The name makes me think of an older game called The Norwood Suite. I watched Vinesauce Vinny play it years ago. It's a fantastic game with a unique theme and tone. Manly would love it, I'm sure.
If you're interested, Manly, it's part of a series. First game is a free game called Off Peak.
😂
I don’t know if I can watch Manly anymore knowing that he honks at people he’s trying to pass
A bit of a spoiler(?) for the video !
I genuinely got scared when the intruder popped out of the closet, it was something I really didn't expect and coupled with the loud noise really gave me a jump. I think it was because I was already initially suspicious of the closet but Manly opened it and there was absolutely nothing so it lulled me back into a false sense of security. I didn't expect for a jumpscare to happen at the closet a few seconds after he checked it ;;
When you wake up after being sedated you can actually see the man getting in the closet
Nowhere Gas Simulator. Watch out for an old cranky farmer and his strange coward of a dog. My advice? Return the slab.
Good stuff.
I love these VHS horror games man., there's something very cozy about them. Thanks for the content Manly
This game has the god damn loudest screamers I´ve seen, my headphones exploded for a second there
I just wanna say I really want to see more horror games that are based on real life experiences. Like the fact that it could actually happen to you makes it so much scarier to me.
Yeah, so many stories out there about phantom coffee machines.
Thank you for being responsible with your driving. Around here, you can get fined for texting and driving.
You can get arrested around where I live. It’ll usually be a fine, but if you keep doing it they’ll take your license away and charge you with something more serious.
The last time i saw Manly's sub count it was 700k and now it's 1 mil, absolutely amazing
Just recently discovered this channel and I am absolutely in love with his voice!! The perfect voice for storytelling!
14:57 I would be GLAD they drove past me lmao. Not risking getting kidnapped today.
Yea, the Coffee Machine and the Intruder somehow being in the room before opening the front door for the Manager was a bit far-fetched.
“You think someone on the internet would lie 😥”
The coffee machine didn't disappear right away. The protagonist wakes up hours later, there was plenty of time to move it while she was sedated.
Yeah the coffe machine part was quite idiotic for being "based on a true story". Did this girl just found a random ghost coffe machine or did the stalker went through all the trouble on setting a drugged coffe machine and then took the entire machine out after she used it?
Either way is silly for a true story...
@@Cam1417-TK what do you mean? You don't store functional coffee machines in your car?
In any other time this road would probably be a nice place to go through..
I have watched so many of nannies videos recently. I reached to a point where just playing his voice in the background is comforting
Oh sweet I’ve been thinking of this series recently. Glad to see there’s been a new chapter!
The real horror begins when you turn a blacklight on them bed sheets before going to bed
Just when i watched this game but the home alone version.
Good timing, Manly!
Manly is just so unique, I can only focus on homework and fall asleep with his videos on and I discover all these games I've never heard of
MBH sounds so much like a school teacher I actually had a dream where he would make us play these horror games except they were real and if they were bad we would need to go to multiple places/games and he would get real mad at kids who didn't turn in the work because he would walk through most of the hard parts anyway.
This is a low-key commercial for travelling by air at the end.
I live in Wyoming and over the summer I took a couple of 6 hour road trips where there was literally nothing for hours but sage brush and pronghorn. This game really creeps me out after that
Being a nature fanatic I learned many things and rule number one always listen to those whom are telling you the folklore of the area. Be wise pack a first aid kit and jumper cables, and never ever leave your vehicle. I loved watching this playthrough I felt anxiety for Holly the entire time.
How are you going to use your jumper cables without leaving your car?
The stalker whispering "hello" outside of the window scares me SO BAD
