This is why the elderly need to be educated on the internet. It's sad

Why are some people not able to see the clues that websites are fake? Usually misspellings, dodgy picture quality, etc.

This totally happened to my mom ... people I have told her everything is a scam nothing is real unless I tell her it's real. And she still keeps ordering things I told my brother we are gonna take her computer away if she doesn't stop this nonsense!

It's cause Crocter Phil and Docstar Oz are ALWAYS hocking products on their shows, so its easy to think that what you are buying is just another one of those.

    It’s called internet literacy.
It’s shameful older people get scammed like this cause they can’t spot the subtle signs.

That was what I went through with that makeup airbrush company. For some reason, when I purchased it automatically set me up with a $40 per month makeup subscription I never wanted. I guess it was in that very fine print I never saw. Then, was told if I sent back the makeup I would get refunded so I sent it back and called months later. Never got refunded and it was sa waste of time, energy and SO FRUSTRATING

These are people from a completely different generation. They didn’t grow up on computers like you did probably. Even me as an older millennial I didn’t grow up that way either. I became an adult with it so luckily could leave but it’s harder with age. Its really sad but that’s who they target

I see this time and time again. I work at a Western Union desk. Elderly people just seem to believe anything that is told to them on the internet. You ALWAYS ASSUME ITS FAKE!!! No questions!! Just don't do it!!!

Yeah this is why elderly people need to actually consult somebody who is fluent with social media. 90% of things on the Internet are scams. We know that to be true but they are very gullible when it comes to this kind of stuff and they think that if it’s on the Internet it must be true. And it doesn’t matter if you “trust “Dr. Phil. He’s not the one who made the ad. There’s people using him to promote it. It’s pretty easy to tell what’s fake and what’s not.

Oh poor lady ... if you want to use CBD you have to do your research a little first, learn the differentes products , differences between hemp oil, cbd and thc ... cbd is great when you know where to look and what to look for.

People decrying the internet but for a lot of elderly it's done by phone and even the USPS. They're careful w/Post Office but magazine ads, TV ads, and those cordial calls to polite elders who simply won't say they're not interested, goodbye--and then hang up. Once the elders respond in some way, their address is sold time and again. I'm still getting junk ads for my step-f who's been dead 4 years this month and his second wife who died in the early 90s! And, yes, something came in from Oz because it was understood he was interested in........

Dr. Phil are you there? I need your help with a very unique situation. I need someone to help me the police wont listen the judge is bought and the wicked are going to win. I don't have money to do what I need to do but this woman has taken everything I own and she's about to get an order of protection against me, I'm scared of what will happen to me after that. No one will help me.

I don't understand your comment, maybe you can clarify. Phil McGraw has a PhD in psychology and Dr Oz is an MD. So as far as I understand they are both doctors. Can you please explain to me what you mean? Actually I would bet you don't reply because your comment is simply wrong. It's pretty low spreading lies about people and only makes you look stupid.

That doesn't take away their previous education and experience to date. I doubt Dr. Phil is a currently licensed for private practice, but as of 2019, Dr. Oz was still credentialed.
I believe Dr. Oz is still accepting new patients at Columbia Presbyterian in NYC, and he's still on the board there too.
