love how quick and concise your reviews are. All I need to know in a few minutes with no unnecessary rambling
The negatives out weights the positives for me.
Idd, way too expensive for a mid-range rig. There are cheaper alternatives
100% for that money you can buy a profile rig, thats 10 times better. Dead product, like so many fanatec ones.
@@johans3687list cockpits for 540$ with a seat n shifter mount?
Positive: im surprised its sturdy.
Negative: all of them 😂
@@3Vizo The seat is like 100 bucks, you are better of getting a car seat for 50$. This thing is crap. And a shifter mount is 1-2 40x40 profile for 15$.
Nice review mate! 🙌
Top notch review again! Keep em coming!
Nice review, covers everything in detail and nicely edited too! Subbed
Sim Labs Gt1 evo... $450.00 at microcenter, shifter arm, monitor mount, and a front base mount as well.
I went with Advanced Sim Racing and their ASR1 and I’m quite happy. $350 and it shipped for free. Doesn’t have a monitor mount or a shifter arm though. I also live in AZ where micro center has no stores 😢
Yeah it is an abysmal deal. Steel rigs are questionable in general, but this one takes the cake.
@@thebackroomstockboy7336 Yeah, l fortunately lived near one in both states I've lived in for the past few years. For some reason if you search for the Sim Labs evo on the website it comes up as 600.00 but if you search moza and scroll to Rigs it's $450.00 for the Gt1 evo 2 (don't know what the 2 means).
Building it myself for 700-800 but with an expensive bucket seat, asetek front mount and monitor mount. Way more versatile, less flex and looking much nicer. Another bust I think.
Where is that deal?
I think this is a good proposition if you want to get into simracing and really don't have the time to look around, you pick Fanatec and you buy all the stuff together. Not my case but I can understand the need to have this in your portfolio for that kind of customer.
Im going to order one it looks amazing for the price
Not sure why anyone would get this over the Sim lab GT1 Evo. And you should have mentioned all the issues that’s going on with Fanatec. People need to know that stuff
My thoughts exactly.
I'm not sure why someone would get this over... just about anything else.
The $450 Microcenter Sim Lab GT1 EVO II bundle was 100% worth driving to a different state to pick up.
Tf Fanatec do? I'm thinking about upgrading my G29 to the GT DD Pro, any reason I shouldn't?

"A father have his young son race." I am pretty young, have a 5nm Fanatec csl dd, and a triple monitor setup, and my dad loves using it. The tables have turned.
Buy a Quest 3
He will love it
I just got the Playseat trophy and it is sturdy as hell. For the price the functionality and looks are perfect. It is very confortable and a great crossover between single seater and GT seating position. Definitely would recommend
Trophy is great if you have limited space. I've seen a knockoff model on AliExpress though (with the replacement seat sold separately), so that could be a good, cheaper alternative.
I ordered this with all the mentioned accessories and the F1 DD+ bundle, CSL shifter, CSl pedals and load cell. Ordered April 9th. Six big boxes all showed up on April 13. Everything on time, no issues. I like the compactness and I'm happy it's Fanatec purpose built for their stuff. Their cockpit assembly video is a nice customer touch as well.

@@BmwM140iClubsport Hi. Nope. You are spreading misinformation.
W review good vid oc!
Fantastic review with great footage. Thank you!!!
👍
great review as always. you are the GOAT
NO YOU!!!
@@OCRacing NO YOU!!!!!
Awesome quality, and top notch work in the review. OC's voice was at the perfect level, and very clear. And as usual, the video production is amazing. Some of the best video production on RUclips. I'll like the video for that, but not for the product shown. That gets a thumbs down.
Great video!! I have this cockpit on order, as well as all the gear to go with it. Locked into their ecosystem haha. I am okay with that. I did get a better seat however. Stoked \m/
nice to see the good old thrustmaster tlcm in this rig
This product is so complicated and has so many parts. There’s no way this thing will be as rigid as a profile rig which are not even that expensive. No idea what Fanatec was thinking.
im glad i got a gt omega prime for a discount without seat it walik about 550. they have gone up and the pedal tray is better but mine works just fine
Can the fanatec seat be mounted to the sim lab gt1 evo?
Will you be reviewing asr rigs? I see you have discount code but havent reviewed much from them.
So this rig does not support bottom mounting wheel bases AT ALL?
OC, we did see the next Rig from Fanatec at the Sim Racing Expo 2023, so curious when you will have it at your front door 😊
I'm surprised you're getting that much flex from the pedal deck. I've been using a preproduction version of this cockpit for months with a set of CSL Pedals (load cell brake), applying around 60kg of force when braking with only a tiny bit of visual flex. Certainly, nothing that can be felt. Around how many kg of force are you pressing those Thrustmaster pedals with?
I'm sure the Simlab GT1 evo is a much more competitive option at this price point. or the pro sim rig psr3
Another W video as ALWAYS
You already know 😤😤
Good video I’m guessing this is what ya were up late producing lol, but what do you do with these products after you’re done?
Yeah I've been up the last few nights filming a bunch of different reviews I have coming up. As per what I do with the products, it depends.
Some companies request I send them back, others I keep and use, others I put in storage for future content like comparison videos, and others I sell used.
Ordered a mclaren gt3 bundle on 10th of april 2024. Still waiting for my shit. And i find out today about the shipping issues. Iff i new before i never have ordered from them.
I’ve been wanting to get a better cockpit for a while now but I’m 6’6.
I currently have the next level racing challenger cockpit and a csl dd.Sadly I guess this cockpit is ruled out too 😢
I really love the design of this cockpit but it's a shame it doesn't have a formula position instead of the karting position.
I would've 100% bought it if it did have a formula position.
I've quickly configured a extrusion rig on Motedis and that's about 420€ with tax, not saying this is a bad product but I'd rather go with a rig with an upgrade path than something locked down where you have to hope that they'll add more add ons like a keyboard holder or similar.
When will Sim Tour Project come back
How would a person at 160cm feel in this seat
no room for a handbrake lever ?
You'd have to be a lunatic to not buy a aluminum profile rig at this price point.
Order now, delivered at Christmas. Sorry, a bit cynical. I hope Fanatec get their business processes sorted out this year.
Ordered mine last week and it’s getting delivered on 4/20
Fanatec have locking the customers forever...just the fact that you need a hub to get FFB when using a 3rd party wheel prove that.
Fanatec is going to be the Apple in the Sim-Racing market :)
Im personally 160 cm ( 5.24934 foot ), do you think it might be fine for me?
Yes, it wil be fine for you.
I would go Trakracer TR80-lite over this any day
When you don't use the included rods for extra stability, your monitor wobbles.
Yeah I realized after looking at the footage, surprisingly it wasn’t noticeable when racing. I’ve added them since
Positive: im surprised its sturdy.
Negative: all of them 😂
What editing software do you use?
Premiere Pro - but the software is only a tool
@@OCRacing okay
at this ‘compact’ size they shoudl have gone a step further and made it foldable or split in half - the bottom tubes could come apart easily enough.
good vid oscar
good comment max
In this price category there's no way that foldable rigs costing $100+ less can be considered direct competitors as you mentioned, this HAS to be better by default
Fanatec haters getting more out of hand in the comments every day
that pedal plate would be gone under proper LC pedals
Don't you see or don't you want to see that the front leg is sinking into the carpet (even 10 cm around). Do you expect the pedal plate to float in the air and offer resistance?
See again and again and again ... 8:50
@rema1242 probably don't want to see it😂😂😂
can you make a pxn shifter vs logitech shifter i subbed ❤
Jus looks like lawn furniture to me....I'll stick with my Rseat
This cockpit is better than the next level racing F-GT?
2:28 Is that a gigantic scratch I see just as you say everything arrived without a scratch?
Not a scratch, it's a slice of the cardboard inlay. Downside of environment-friendly packaging.
As one of hundreds of customers who have been financially screwed over by Fanatec, I would telly anyone to avoid them like The Plague.
That’s your disappointed opinion. Yeah you had a problem with your order, you could have cancelled it and went somewhere else, so your fault, quit complaining. You are the small minority, most people had no problems and are satisfied with their orders.
@@licksta611Opinion??? WTF? How could I have cancelled my order when it was already delivered to me with a defect and it took Fanatec nearly 2 months just to reply to my first email asking them for help???? How the heck is that just an opinion? It is fact! Just because 95% are happy with their orders doesn't mean that the 5%...or even 1% who may not be satisfied should be ignored. You may want to really rethink your outlook on how a businesses should treat their customers. It is a FACT that Fanatec has pissed off a lot of people, and they deserve to be called out for it by the very customers that they wronged. If you felt that you were screwed over by a company that you did business with, how would you feel if someone just laughed at your situation, telling you that others were happy dealing with that business, so it;s just your opinion that you think that you were wronged? Seriously, do some deep thinking before you cast judgement on others plights. Peace.
that looks sleek
Typical fanacrap crash grab. Anyway great Video!
oof.
edit: I too like running the 2004 on nurburgring.
As a console player on AC it’s one of the few things I can actually do in the game but definitely a great one 😂
This Rig will not accept at least some of the non-Fanatec seats without jumping through hoops. Saw one German review where the guy, in order to install another seat had to turn 90 degrees fitting holes and add aluminium brackets just to put the seat as spacing between front and back is less than on other rigs.
Will a next level racing seat fit?
@@3Vizo You can mount any seat, without any problem.
@@3Vizo it might, but you might also either make new wholes in seat mounting or think of some extension like 90 degree aluminium brackets as you can not adjust spacing between mounting points on the rig
@@MrRamoSzz No, it's not true. Don't lie and talk nonsense. You can mount any seat slider+seat. On example: the ERS3 come with mounted seat slider and you need just connect the seat slider+seat with the CSL cockpit by 4 screws.
ruclips.net/video/Ch9m2VxtGJk/видео.html ... ERS3 with already mounted the seat slider
ruclips.net/video/oiEs6RXTYgc/видео.html ... CSL Cockpit with 4 connection points adjustable dimensions (width x length / M8 screw)
You can get longer bolts and use spacers or washers. It's not that difficult. It's a standard seat slider length. I bought one on Amazon and it works perfectly. I could easily raise the seat as much as I like with a couple dollars worth of hardware and it wouldn't even be cobbed together. I imagine any standard automotive seat bracket would easily mount to this rig.
Flex in pedal plate kills it.
Don't you see or don't you want to see that the front leg is sinking into the carpet (even 10 cm around). Do you expect the pedal plate to float in the air and offer resistance?
See again and again and again ... 8:50
Any little thing to complain about these whiners will whine. Disgusting!
These things are cheap for a reason, I only buy the best.😊👍🙋
the monitor has a lot of wobble, also the foots looks too flimsy and would probably damage your floor.
Stabilizer bars were not assembled which would have prevented the flex caused by the monitor back cover. OC mentioned this already in another comment.
The feet are ok and don't damage the floor, the box content included rubber pads and felt pads to put onto the feet bottom and fit for any floor type.
Pedal deck 😢 and limiting/forcing u to use Fanatec ecosystem.
When will they learn?
Don't you see or don't you want to see that the front leg is sinking into the carpet (even 10 cm around). Do you expect the pedal plate to float in the air and offer resistance?
See again and again and again ... 8:50
Maybe you will learn something?
W video
Sucks it doesn't have a butt kicker mount
The entire cockpit is made of aluminum tube D=40mm and steel bars 12mm and 16mm, so you can mount the buttkicker, which has a grip of up to 45mm, anywhere.
The amount of hate this thing gets is hilarious. How many are out in the wild that have actually been used to garner so much? I've got one. It's good. I'm a big dude with long legs and arms and it fits me well. I do manual labor for a living and have my whole life so I'm in fairly good shape. I run my DDPro wheel at full ffb and it doesn't even begin to flex. I don't know what happened in this video with the pedal plate but mine absolutely does not flex like this does. CSL with load cell pedals set to 70 in the Fanatec menu and it just doesn't do this. My rug underneath is thin and I guess maybe that helps but if the bolts aren't loose there are other issues either with assembly or manufacture. I've got probably 15 hours on mine at this point. Seat is surprisingly comfortable although I prefer a slightly more reclined position, this one is neutral enough to be comfortable. I will say that they should just include a seat slider as the one I installed on mine is significantly better than the Fanatec seat interface. It also raises the seat just a little which is nice. It's also got a footprint that's about the same as my playseat challenge so if space is a limiting factor for someone, this thing is great.
Not trying to be contrary here, just offering my experience with this because all the armchair quarterbacks seem to not give it a fair shot. Fanatec definitely misses the mark in many ways for many people, but to call this rig junk is hilarious. It's great for the price, especially if a profile rig doesn't work for you for whatever reason. Options are a good thing and breed competition.
Thanks for sharing your experience and the kind words. Fanatec will offer seat sliders as well, at a very competitive price point, just needs a little while. Reason to not include it is that not everyone needs it, so why should the entry price be raised for everybody due to parts some may not need?
@@Bakufan1984they should be included. Simple as that. They are not expensive and can be had for 15 dollars and up on Amazon so it can't cost much more (a couple Dollars maybe ?) than the plates they offer with the kit. Just my opinion of course, but it would make the rig significantly better for most folks with very little end price impact. Cheers!
@@330_D sure, slider are adding value. I use third party seat sliders on mine, too, along with some more modifications like a diy folding mechanism.
I have it…& there’s no flex (setting @ 80 with a CSL load cell brake). I added seat sliders and frame wheel casters from Amazon. This rig is solid at any price point. The biggest con is assembling it. The structure is a solid build.
Thank you for sharing!!!
I am in a very similar ballpark as you and I think this will be a perfect fit for my needs. \m/
Wow, thats terrible. At that price point you might aswell go 80/20 and get a lot more.
500$ with a seat? Show me one
@@3Vizo find it,dont be lazy. Even better, BUILD IT. Find a cheap used bucked seat or just take a normal seat from a scrapyard. Buy alu profiles.
@@4frost316 . It’s not about being lazy. If anything your the one being lazy. You talk like there is options at that price. There isn’t any.
If it was 20 to 30 percent cheaper would have made more sense
Knowing Fanatec it will probably collapse and severely injure many people
This looks cheap compared to any extruded aluminum rig. Glad I bought the ASR 3 instead.
It is cheap. 500$ with a seat. Solid
@@3Vizo Meh, it's better to just buy a GT1 Evo and pair it with a seat from a junkyard. It'll come out to the same price and you get upgradeability, adjustability, and don't have to deal with any of the BS from Fanatec
@@3Vizo the seat is worth like 100$.
Why Fanstec are putting time and money into a new product rather than concentrating on all of their current issues with stock, tech support and public relationships baffles me. Plus on top of that they are putting out a product that is vastly overpriced in the market.
"Came neatly packed and without a scratch" except for both g pieces, should I trust the rest of this review?
That's slices of the cardboard inlay, not scratches.
Another whiner complainer, with nothing better to do.
@@licksta611 Meh.

Nice try Fanatec, but I’ll pass. Aluminum rig is much better for the price point.
I'm calling the fov police.
Bruhhhh the pricing💀💀💀💀
7:48 man that is awful. Is that it for steering wheel adjustability? He basically has to straight arm hold the steering wheel here.
Ill be honest.. this seems like a last ditch effort kinda product.
Seems a lot of money for a rig when you can get a gt omega prime lite for under $1000, hell the prime is $1200.. both have all the same extras, but is infinitely adjustable, and the seats leather with sliders and adjustable rake.. and those are forever rigs..
If you didn’t want to spend that much you would just buy something like the NLR rig for $400 !
$400 for some metal?
people pay 500$ for a bumper lol
@@3Vizo crazy

Oplite gtr s8 it's more better at less price.
Why would I pick this over my GT omega prime lite that handles all my Simagic gear (alpha p1000) with zero flex?
This was flexing with 12Nm but fanatec say it supports 20+. Suuuure.
Fanatec junk
Great "zero flex" in all alu frame cockpit style 8040 ruclips.net/video/s9Qmdf7LQdk/видео.html
This is also "zero flex" in cockpit of > 1000€ ruclips.net/video/jcqtWmAimzo/видео.html
Do not talk nonsense and many of other like you !
waaaaaay too many bolts holding all this tubular stuff together. I would imagine there is a fair amount of wobble and weak points because of this. For the price range you’re better off going to a lower price aluminum profile rig
Certainly a lot of bolts and I did find myself re-tightening the wheel plate and pedal mount a few times. For the price I can understand why though.
@@OCRacing What do you mean for the price? Entry level 80/20 rigs are only slightly more expensive.
@@schmid1.079 beyond an aluminum rig, NLR's cheaper stuff holds up a ton better than this junk

This is for you: 🥇
Lot's of scratches out of the box not a good look
shill review, pass
The bolt holes on the feet are interesting. Makes me wonder if there is some future plans for motion platforms or some other mounting solution for upgradability. This is the one thing that has enticed me, looking for a compact living room PSVR rig.
gl putting full on motion platform on that thing lol
@@Eskoxo that was the point in the comment. If they’re working with another manufacturer to provide a proprietary motion platform, which is the only use case for those bolt holes, it could be a compelling option if you’re looking for something cheaper and more compact. My current rig takes up nearly an entire home office-sized room and costs close to $18k. If I want something to run in a living room or for the corner of another bedroom, having a small and manageable motion platform is a good option.
@@Silverjerk who on earth would put $6000 motion platform on some cheap thing like this i don’t know where your thinking is tbh.
@@Eskoxo what are you talking about? No one is saying it will be a $6000 full motion platform. It’s not likely to be a DBox or DK2. It’s more likely to be something along the lines of the slip angle, or a traction loss platform. Are you okay, man?
You can mount roles or furniture feet to this holes. My one is on rolls as I move it from office to living room to drive GT7 or Forza on the 82" TV.
Pricey. Adjusting is a hassle. Made only for their wheels.
No, not a good contender. Why even consider it? Also why the sugar coating? 🤔
Surprisingly rigid!
This thing looks trash. The seat looks cheap and likely will be uncomfortable for most adults.
Its a hard no for me on this bunk bed frame looking mess.
Thumbs down 👎
They fucked their whole supply chain to push this embarrassing product out.
The CEO deserved to be fired.
Yikes.
Bro your positioning is all wrong. You're waaaaaaaaay to far away from your wheel, you want to have a 90 degree bend in your elbows for optimal handling. You also want to have a 90 degree bend in your knees too but, some seats don't allow for this which for me instantly eliminates them for consideration since the manufacturers don't know what they are doing or don't care.
Without a scratch? I see at least 4 on the pieces 🫢
Locking you into the ecosystem is a huge No No for me. Also way too expensive for what it is.
