It’s always such an experience to watch Stanwyck. She was one of a kind-she could play the grieving widow in one episode plotting against her husband, or a high powered attorney fighting for the rights of a lost young mother… Each episode reveals another layer of her depth and strength as an actress. And that voice! She always delivers.
This was good. There's two actors that were on the Leave It to Beaver show; her son is the child that played Gilbert, a friend of Beaver's. The madame dowager played the principal at Beaver's school, Mrs. Rayburn.
Doris Packer was known for her comedic roles and did them brilliantly on Dobie Gillis, Burns & Allen, Beaver, and Dick Van Dyke among many others. She had a brief dramatic scene with David White (Bewitched’s Larry Tate) in the Twilight Zone about the robotic grandmother I Sing the Body Electric. But THIS Barbara Stanwyck episode probably gave her the best role she ever had in movies or TV. Substantial, complex…and she did it thoughtfully, subtly with variety, a bit of flair, and great authenticity. Can you tell I’m a fan? Doris Packer was perfect in this!

Our play tonight concerns an oil drilling company- and the woman in charge of it. That's *me.* And she's forced to make a difficult decision in the matter of an employee who stole a large sum of money from her company. It's title- 'The Secret of Mrs. Randall', and was adapted by Jerome Gruskin and Albert Beich from a story by Jerome Gruskin, and directed by Richard Whorf. And it begins after this word from TRESemmé."

Bruce Gordon was known for playing mobsters.
Great line: “I was a hash slinger in a mining camp; you was a hip slinger on a carnival midway.”
