I think Rory was not the same mentally after that fight. You can see fear in his face in that showdown at the end of the 4th. The last punch who put him down wasn't strong enough to knock him down, but mentally he just couldn't do it
Though I don’t necessarily agree with EVERY list orders, but I don’t know how’d I’d complain. As a guy with bad nerves it’s good for me to stay busy or watch things I enjoy. I really do appreciate the continuous content. Seems to always give me something to do.
I've watched Lawler v MacDonald 2, more times than I can count. Soooooooooo gooooood. The end of the fourth round is the greatest badassery I've ever seen.
You're gonna casually say that Mir forced Nogueira to tap but not follow up with how he brutally broke than man's arm with that kimura? The same way Masahiko Kimura did to Helio Gracie, 3 times in a row (breaking the arm more than once in the process), until Gracie's corner threw in the towel to admit defeat for their fighter who now had one less functioning arms than before the fight? It's an awesome testament to the arrogance/stubbornness of Brazilians' to not admit defeat until you rip their limbs off, and often even more to get even an inkling of a surrender, and Frank Mir's undeniable talent and perseverance since he was pretty much out on the mat in that ground and pound before the grappling started..
Dude, Abso-fucking-LUTELY. Had to make sure somebody commented that... Like, wtF?? And I don't know what that other guy replying to you was even talking about - shit, that was one of the most brutal UFC moments EVER.
I remember the end of that Lawler McD fight, I turned to my brother and we both just sighed. We knew we might not ever see anything like that ever again.
WTF? No Chuck vs Randy? Tito vs Chuck? Silva vs Rampage? Silva vs Sakuraba? At least one of these should have been in that list!!!! Especially Chuck vs Randy
I'm a new mma (or ufc to be precise) fans. Its been 3-4 years. Now you guys are really the perfect guidance for complete understanding of this amazing sport.
The biggest thing that happened in MMA between 2010 and 2012 was arguably Silva vs Sonnen rivalry. Their rematch was considered back in 2012 as the "greatest rematch of all times" by the MMA community. It is curious to see that only 11 years later the same community completely forgot that such a big event happened. The rematch between literally the considered all time GOAT at that time and the only fighter that almost beat him in the UFC, the rematch that once was the most anticipated thing in MMA for over 2 years didn't even enter this top10. Things change so quickly in MMA, people forget so quickly... It is simply an absurd that Sonnen vs Silva is not in this list, especially considering that Anderson is yet to this day a MMA top 3 or top 5 GOAT by almost every fan and Sonnen almost, almost beat him. The more you think that Mir vs. Nog made into the list and Sonnen vs. Silva didn't the more absurd it gets.
How is Silva top 3 when the 3 greatest fighters of all time are #3 Chael Sonnen, #2 Chael Sonnen & was there any doubt #1 The American Gangster Chael Sonnen *in my Dylan voice
My favorite rematch is Gaethje vs Poirier 2. Second favorite was Volkanovski vs Holloway 3. So many people called me a casual for backing Gaethje and Volkanovski to win and they both won dominantly. Nothing better than being vindicated.
Just want to point out that the decision in the second Alvarez Chandler fight is baffling. It looked liked chandler won 4 rounds 1 potentially a 10-8 then the judges gave it to eddie anyway.
I feel like Cejudo DJ 2 should’ve been on here if we’re talking about impact which was one of the criteria. MMA looks vastly different without that fight
I think the "Pride scale" should be used in matters of split decisions/draws I get it, if round one was such a beatdown, would the other fighter even had made it to round two without the round bell ringing? So maybe if one of the rounds was 10-8 (but not because of a point deduction) then use UFC ,but if it's 10-9 rounds, the latter rounds should be worth more, imho
Thoroughly surprised Figgy/Moreno isn’t on here considering they had four fights and three rematches against each other and all are flyweight classics.
Pro tip - If you want to introduce family & friends to the sport of MMA... *DO NOT* show them the Robbie Lawler vs Rory MacDonald fight. Source = My traumatized nephew

People Calling Daniel Cormier at his peak when he was 41 and he himself said he should have retired after the Derrick Lewis fight because even tho it was easy he still didn't feel like he had it anymore is half the reason we have the jones v stipe fight holding up the division. Stipe looked old 3 years ago let alone a year from now.
Fun fact: unless I am mistaken, Deiveson figureido is the only fighter in ufc history to do 3 or more fights where moreno won and then drew, then figureido wins, then moreno again. Most trilogies where the score is 2-1 involve win loss loss or loss win win and title only switched once.
Its funny how this channel kinda goes back and forth between robbie/roy 2. Sometimes they say its overrated, other times they say its a classic. I firmly believe this fight is amazing
I couldn't understand why either, specially considering that Shogun vs. Hendo 1 has literally entered the UFC Hall of Fame as one of the greatest flights of all times LOL
That iconic picture at the 6:02 mark?? I’ve seen that picture almost every day of my life for the last 10 months. Why? Because I have the absolute honour and privilege of being taught (and attending the dojo of )mixed martial arts by the same man who brought the world its first ever AUSNZ UFC champion, Coach Henrry Perez. In a lot of ways, I still can’t believe the luck I have of being taught by one of the greatest coaches of all time, but hey, that’s this sport in a nutshell I suppose: making the impossible possible.
Rory got deprived of his win over Condit with a nonsensical stoppage in a fight he was winning then robbie beat Rory then Condit fought robbie and should have got the decision but didn't thus neither Condit or Rory got the UFC belt officially. Then Rory would go to bellator and Woodley the guy Rory beat easily would become the UFC Champion.
Really feel like usman edwards 2 has to get a mention here, obviously the fight wasn’t as insane as the others (excluding the head kick ofc) but just for the outcome and how much it shook the division up it’s at least an HM. Good list nonetheless :)

Yeah DC is a dirty fighter but you won’t find anyone on this channel calling him out. They think he’s perfect cause he never popped for PEDS. Even though Wrestling has a long history with it.
He tapped, but only AFTER his arm has been badly broken in 3 places. Nasty stuff. I've always wondered why he tapped after the break instead of before, but ultimately, it's because he was too tough for his own good.
brandon moreno vs alexandre pantoja was a great rivalry even though pantoja won all 3 fights, the second and third fight were very close and could've done ethier way
I've been a fan of the channel for many years, and when I saw this title I thought of one thing - a rematch so amazing there was another one. And another one. The only quadrilogy of title fights ever. How the heck did Moreno VS Figgy not make #1 on this list? I mean would anyone have minded if they just did a 5th one?
Only reason rory went down was because his nose was broken bad. And robbie was constantly throwing strikes right at it. However still my #1 favorite fight in my list 🤌
No Rockhold vs Bisping 2? Considering Rockholds stock at that time, Bisping taking the fight on 2 weeks notice and being written off by basically everyone after Lukes dominant first fight performance, oh and only having 1 eye!!!!!! 😕

1:50 one of the main reasons I really disliked seeing Mir fight. He held onto sooo many submissions waaay past a tap or the person was out, yet he doesn't get the stigma of being a "dirty fighter" as most every other person who done it has... and he's done it 4 TIMES.. he legit said after the last guillotine choke a reporter asked him "why did you hang on past the tap?" and he smugly says "well it's either wait let go or make sure the fight is done by putting him to sleep, so I did" like bro LMFAOO either way that win is one of the best & I love Lawler/ MacDonald 2 people seem to forget the crowd was literally booing in the 2nd round because there wasn't much being throw just a lot of faints 😂 it wasn't until after Rory hurt him with the headkick and went of that 45 second onslaught that started the fire fight in the 4th & 5th. Honestly it's the staredown between rounds that made that one soo epic and the finish of course. And I watched it live, so don't try to debate it if you only seen highlights

Absolutely, that one and Griffin vs Bonnar is the ultimate UFC starter pack, and an honorable mention to Hunt vs Bigfoot 1.
Crazy how the fans were booing the first 2 rounds of Lawler vs Mcdonald then it turned into one of the best fights in ufc history.
Hell of a banger, that one.

That fight and Ferguson vs Gaethje

Hunt v Bigfoot is too often overlooked.
Perfect example of a fight that could only happen at heavyweight.
During Rory Lawler 1 everybody thought "oke old man, you had a nice career comeback but now it ends here"
And before the second fight we thought the same and we all saw what happened
I will admit I thought Rory was gonna win the first fight against Robbie
That stare down in-between rounds, neither guy wanting to back down and go to their corner is something special.
I never felt in the second fight that Rory was about to win because of his storied lack of punching power.
