I just want to say I don't own a Seaboard, but from all that I've seen of this product it is astonishing! From the basic set features to the basically built in wave table that works on touch and the way you move your fingers is just incredible! I mean seriously I've never seen an instrument be more innovative than this one. Keel up the amazing work Roli! God bless!
Just to clarify for those asking that this update is indeed for existing RISE users as well as those who buy a RISE from today! I saw his comment, and didn't notice your comment enough for some reason, I found a video with Hanz Zimmer playing the one you brought up, in your comment. Haha beat me to it man.
str8todamoney well, because the orchestras on that thing sound so extremely good. I thought maybe if Hans Zimmer would do something with it it would sound amazing.
the bends and vibratos could be notated just as they are in guitar notation. then you'd just need a way to notate the cutoff changes/whatever is happening when the hands move up vertically, which i don't think would be too hard.
I am over the moon hearing this, what mindblowingly cool!! I will be buying the Seaboard block with full Equator software in a month from now. Then begin 2018 I intend to buy a second Seabord block to connect the first. That's it for starters. Can't wait to begin!!!!! Keep it up Roli !
We've created a cheaper Seaboard too. At $300 the Seaboard Block is a super powered keyboard which you can connect to other modular instruments and dashboards. roli.com/products/blocks/seaboard-block
Am I the only person who wants all of these short snippets to be full length tracks? I could listen to music made with thing all day! I'm going to get one of the 25 key ones as soon as I can afford it.
I'm going to say the most cliché thing ever but my jaw dropped. It literally dropped. Listening to this instrument is a transcendent experience unlike any other. Like I've heard Beethoven, I've heard Moonlight Sonata, and that expression and pure emotion, which took a genius like Beethoven to portray, is very much present here, even though these demo songs are relatively simple. I closed my eyes while listening to this and I cried, I actually cried, although I don't know how much that's worth since I cry often while listening to music because I always try to be spiritually connected to what I'm listening to. But that's the point. Connection. I imagine that you would agree. Art is an attempt at reaching the divine. Sometimes geniuses like Beethoven give us a little glimpse, a little shimmer, of heaven or hell, a hint of the supernatural. But you have allowed us to touch it, to actually really truly feel it. For that you deserve tremendous applause; and I know that this comment is really long but I just wanted to take some time to really thank you and show you how much this product means to me as an artist. I will be saving up for this and I can't wait to get my hands on it. Although it's probably good that I have to wait a little bit since by the time I've saved up for it I'll be in college and can use the student discount. But again just thank you so much for making this and if I ever win a Grammy with it I'll be sure to shout you out.
Well I liked your comment, maybe because I was equally touched by this instrument, Apart from your" Art is an attempt at reaching the divine" cry! Yet I agree with the rest and also became very emotional. So I will give you a treat in thanks of a kindred spirits confession! I hope you have some good memories attached to Prince "Purple Rain"? You should search for - (Marco Parisi plays Prince's -Purple Rain- on the Seaboard RISE at NAMM 2017) and you will cry again. Marco Parisi is a brilliant musician and song writer and was also able to show what this Seaboard could do. It´s a must to listen to the end, enjoy
My friend has one of these and it felt REALLY weird to play at first, I had no idea how to make non bad sounding sounds until I learned the trick to not to push too hard as the harder you push the shorter the sound (Atleast if I remember right)
The Timbuku Resonant Guitar sounded amazing! I would love to buy the Rise 49 but the local costs in my country are almost double the costs on the website. Also I noticed that on some of the musical pieces, there was sustain. Was a sustain pedal used in this video?
Buy a seaboard block, learn the seaboard, and buy another block to extend an octave, and eventually you'll have as many keys as you feel comfortable playing :)
It's probably either Neon Night Lights (sollito remix) or Neon Night Lights (Atrophia Remix). Although, the actual song they're playing in the video doesn't start until you get halfway through the songs mentioned above.
I un-installed Equator, downloaded the Windows package from Sept 23rd and installed, downloaded the Equator Extended Library Windows 1.9.4 and installed. New Sounds!
Feather Marimba - Equator Portion at 3:12 sounds very similar to Porter Robinson - Sad Machine, so if you're looking for a longer version of it that might sate your appetite
Actually, there is no footage of classical music performed on a Seaboard. Nevertheless, I ordered the Rise 49. Can't wait to play some Bach fugues and test the possibilities of the classical music genre.
Hi, if you add your email address to our RISE 49 list on our collections page we'll alert you as soon as they are back in stock: global.store.roli.com/collections/seaboard-rise
@roli Hi, I wonder if I should get Grand or Rise? I like the simplicity of Grand. in the website you guys explain that they are for different music maker. Can you be clearer? What is the advantage of onboard synth, Embedded Equator in Grand, comparing with the RISE is a pure expressive MIDI controller. Sorry for asking so much questions, I am new to this musical stuffs :)
Hello ROLI, as I watched this video, I fell in love with many of the pieces played on the Seaboard RISE. Is there somewhere I can download or stream the music? Do you have a Spotify page?
Found the solution (no thanks to Roli). Go to the browser, check "online" as your location and in the top right check "playlists"- You can now download all new sounds
Can we use this keyboard as a regular midi-USB keyboard too? You know, for regular midi recording purposes, with no 5D touch stuff, so I can have just the seaboard and sell my novation launchkey mk2
Question : is all ROLI's product compatible with any stand alone or DAW integrated plugins or is it just intended to be played only with your application ?
Hi, the Seaboard RISE is compatible with DAWs, particularly those that support MPE (and you can also use our Equator software as a VST plug-in within other DAWs)
I just want to say I don't own a Seaboard, but from all that I've seen of this product it is astonishing! From the basic set features to the basically built in wave table that works on touch and the way you move your fingers is just incredible! Love This!!!

soundcloud.com/deejaxmusic/georgia-on-my-mind
ROLI im excited 😁 just ordered 3 of these one for me and my siblings.cant believe this thing is just a hundred pounds. much for less
it's one thousand pounds? not one hundred:P you got me so excited, I was ready to buy one then!
1:27-2:01 is my jam
0:00 to 15:32 this is my jam
9:11 9:49
That Amazon Layers sound slays me man
Timbuku resonance for me
This instrument is so fantastically intriguing! I really hope to get my get my fingers in one of these one day. Awesome job guys at Roli, Bravo!!
Well it's been three years. You never ended up getting that seaboard did ya
Your playing amplifies the Roli even that much more. Damn, your style is so good!
I think I'm gonna buy a Seabord one day... When I have the money and talent for it :D
Aren't we all? 😁
you will have the money sooner :D
And when he finally has both you still won't have manners.
Ján Bakoš ouch 😂
Gavin Ray double ouch 😂😂
Please give this to Hans Zimmer
He's already tried one! Well a Seaboard GRAND rather than a RISE: ruclips.net/video/n2E9GsBnyB8/видео.html
That's amazing! Never thought he would actually play it!
I saw his comment, and didn't notice your comment enough for some reason, I found a video with Hanz Zimmer playing the one you brought up, in your comment. Haha beat me to it man.
I'm curious. Why Hans Zimmer?
str8todamoney well, because the orchestras on that thing sound so extremely good. I thought maybe if Hans Zimmer would do something with it it would sound amazing.
still leaching from this! my absolute favourite is the first melody with "clean and bright"! Finally managed to learn it xD
My question is, who's gonna be the brave soul to try to notate this kind of playing? lol
Search for dolomuse on youtube ;)
the bends and vibratos could be notated just as they are in guitar notation. then you'd just need a way to notate the cutoff changes/whatever is happening when the hands move up vertically, which i don't think would be too hard.
direct midi to notate to Sibelius, but likely some cleaning involved!
ThrowawayGamingChannel I think you could just notate those as crescendos.
+TotallyNotCool Dew it
More than a showcase of the product this is really a showcase of skills of the person playing it, really good job.
Man those Amazon Layers sounded sick! 7:49
Amazing sounds and expressivity, love everything you are doing, groundbreaking stuff for sure. I only wish I could afford one of these!
👊 Sounds like a great plan!
"Amazon Layers" = Goosebumps
You'd pay a grand for any decent guitar.. So the price is totally justified. It just depends on how serious you are.
And this is very serious.
We've created a cheaper Seaboard too. At $300 the Seaboard Block is a super powered keyboard which you can connect to other modular instruments and dashboards.
roli.com/products/blocks/seaboard-block
again perfect timing! With the new chip and hard drive.... Time to see what this beauty can do!
The most beautiful instrument.
Am I the only person who wants all of these short snippets to be full length tracks? I could listen to music made with thing all day! I'm going to get one of the 25 key ones as soon as I can afford it.
The Vocalight Motion one was incredible. I'm not even a musician and I want one!

I live for the cinematic motion sound
13:59 It looks like the theme that sounds when in harry potter they're doing a game of Quidditch
@ROLI : Can you please tell me what the song's name with Buzzy Synth Pick starting at 9:11 ?
The 'Cinematic Motion' Equator just sounds so damn good!! (ಥ﹏ಥ)
Levi Page Apparently it's an actual song but I can't seem to find it😰😰
Tresha Ayag D:
We need to find it!
Marianne M I still haven't found it...
Are there any full versions of these?
0:00
4:13
You can play some Terraria music with this. Technically you can play almost any music with this... This is just awesome.
So is 11:15 just made up on the spot? Is this an actual song somewhere? I must know.
I could watch this all day
Some of these melodies are just eargasmic
Watching this at 3 AM really adds to the fact that i really need to buy this.
the sounds towards the end are unreal. Make that into a bridge of a clubsong and you got yourself a banger
Absolutely gorgeous instrument... Definitely on my 'want!' List. :-) Also: really amazing demo, fantastic playing!
It's a trapppp!! he's really good and it makes u think that u can play the same way lol
9:12 is awesome
Many Americans died how dare you. Terrorist propaganda
It is a purely beautiful sound this makes
I wanna see someone play the Minecraft soundtrack on this
Literally some of the tunes he played had so much potential to be great songs
This is so awesome :D!! Thank you so much for sharing!
For all of you wondering, you have to go into the equator app and download from there. It should be under the playlists section
I can't access "My Roli" on your website
just liked because it sounded funny
My friend has one of these and it felt REALLY weird to play at first, I had no idea how to make non bad sounding sounds until I learned the trick to not to push too hard as the harder you push the shorter the sound (Atleast if I remember right)

So nobody's gonna point out that the beginning of 14:00 sounds like Harry Potter?
Newi994 oh shit yea
Dude this is one of the dopest pieces of gear you could get
I fucking want this.
When we have 1200 dollars, we will be able to get it...
In the meanwhile, let's dream... ;(
it's 'just' 800$ I think
KVV4U7Z7R37SCHK3 For a little one. I want all 4 octaves. ^^
Mr.DOO Welp
Buy a seaboard block, learn the seaboard, and buy another block to extend an octave, and eventually you'll have as many keys as you feel comfortable playing :)
best demo presets i ever heard, amazing
Can someone tell me what's the song name played with " Buzzy Synth Pick " 9:12 to 9:48, thanks
11:15 I need this song.
LunarcomplexRM the exact thought came to my mind.
It's probably either Neon Night Lights (sollito remix) or Neon Night Lights (Atrophia Remix). Although, the actual song they're playing in the video doesn't start until you get halfway through the songs mentioned above.
The 'Hybrid Bass Ensemble" beginning sounded like the Hogwarts theme
Are any of these actual songs? 2:50 I really like the chords, and I want to know if it's an actual song.
Jake Chudnow is gonna love this!
4:10 - 5:16
Oh my god
Такого я еще не видел. Отличная идея. Думаю что это концепция клавишных инструментов будущего.
this instrument is soo cool!
This thing looks amazing.
I'm not musically inclined at all but I'd LOVE the chance to play around with one of these for a while.
i found this very relaxing..thx for the video
,"One day it will be mine " .. waiting for that day🙁
This is kind of beautiful and cool.
Damn this person's really good.
Feather marimba sound is really cool.
I just ordered one of these tonight and am waiting on baited breath
How doin get these new sounds? Is there a free software update to Equator?
Hi Dory, yes it's a free update to RISE users - check your inbox, you should have instructions on how to update there
got it, thanks! updated... will start to browse those new sounds later
12:35 PERSONAL FAVORITE
I un-installed Equator, downloaded the Windows package from Sept 23rd and installed, downloaded the Equator Extended Library Windows 1.9.4 and installed. New Sounds!
But Does it Djent?
Yes
13:11 suggests yes
What about the demos melodys in there ... are they copyrighted :3 ?
Big shoutout to the player like holy he has the groove in his hands !
better than every therapy, I want to play this strange board. I LOVE the Seaboard RISE
Nice playing maybe i'll try ROLI Seabord. The second tune was like a flower in dripping water.. :))
'ASTROTCKS' That was synth genius.
Feather Marimba - Equator Portion at 3:12 sounds very similar to Porter Robinson - Sad Machine, so if you're looking for a longer version of it that might sate your appetite
4:12 - sooo lovely....
This is f***ing awesome.
Floating glass 😍
are there any full 88 key seaboard grands commercially available?
CAN I USE MY ROLI RISE 49 WITH REASON??
Insane!
Awesome new sounds!..who's giving this demonstration?
13:59 - Star Wars goes tango!
any plans to make equator a standalone synth?
1:29 is there a genre classification for this?
Some sort of funk jazz kinda thing. Yeh I'm lost...
haha thanks
Actually, there is no footage of classical music performed on a Seaboard. Nevertheless, I ordered the Rise 49.
Can't wait to play some Bach fugues and test the possibilities of the classical music genre.
Seems like the rise 49 has been out of stock for a long time... any idea when it'll be back?
Hi, if you add your email address to our RISE 49 list on our collections page we'll alert you as soon as they are back in stock: global.store.roli.com/collections/seaboard-rise
sonorità stupende
Sub bass purity is AMAZING
Add a heavy drum and you are done
How do you get the sustain pedal to sustain notes using equator? whenever I press my sustain pedal it just resets the activity in the dashboard
Is that Vocalight Motion piece from somewhere? I need that song.
Sounds very similar to the guy that does the Vengeance demos. I FUCKING LOVE IT.
hey guys how would you call the genre/subgenre of music with the vocalight motion at roughly 4:45
it sounds like some kind of ambient/psy-chill
@roli Hi, I wonder if I should get Grand or Rise? I like the simplicity of Grand. in the website you guys explain that they are for different music maker. Can you be clearer? Hello ROLI, as I watched this video, I fell in love with many of the pieces played on the Seaboard RISE. Is there somewhere I can download or stream the music? Do you have a Spotify page?
Is there a name to the song he was playing at 3:12... Actually, is there a name for every song that he played?
Jason Henrie did you just assume that persons gender? Harambe did not die for this.
Pes Ces Harambe is only a figment of my imagination...He is like a distant memory; always fading away at a constant pace.
Sounds a lot like SAD machine by Porter Robinson
David Secrest Oh I already know that song. They do sound very similar
@ROLI will these be discounted on blackfriday, ive been a pianist for 10 years and would love to pick one up
i've installed Equator Extended Library OSX 1.9.4.mpkg can't see the new sounds in my equator - anyone have any ideas?
Found the solution (no thanks to Roli). Go to the browser, check "online" as your location and in the top right check "playlists"- You can now download all new sounds

ahhhhh got it thank you!!!

I love this!
I recently got a Seaboard Rise and cannot find any of these in my Equator...
@ROLI
These melodies are pretty nice. Any source?
