    Great tutorial, thanks! Very helpful. Two small things I found:
    with a '99 UK 528i, the C pillars didn't have two bolts like yours, but two plastic clips deeper inside, but you still have to remove the light the same - I used the fork trim tool to pull the plastic pin holding the clip to the body out, rather than try to slide the trim off the clips.
    There wasn't a need to undo the seat belts, leave them in place, pull a little slack though, unfasten the parcel shelf as normal, and then feed the slack belts through and pull the parcel shelf out and down so you can rest it where the seat back would be - same net result, more lazy :)

    how long roughly would you estimate for all 4 corners? i might end up stripping the interior before going to take it to a ramp. Im renting a ramp for 4 hours to do a service and coilover install, however after seeing how intense this install is, i might be having to buy more time

    • @racelandsuspension
      @racelandsuspension  7 лет назад +1

      If you do the interior work first, 4 hours may be fine. It is an intense install though :(.

  • @AldershotDave

    • @racelandsuspension

      BUT! In this model you can do it without air tools, but with only your hands. In most 10 yrs old cars you need to cut bolts to remove some suspension parts. I drive e39 almost 8 yrs. Never had any problems with relpacing some parts. No matter what.

      That car especially. It's a joke! lol

    • @baltod4978
      @baltod4978 7 лет назад

      Well, to it's credit- the Germans really know how to compact everything into everything else and still make it work. But that says little when you're the one wrenching on it. How long do these coilover normally last? I saw the lifetime warranty- but at this price... it seems a little fishy. It would be great if you included torque values as well in your videos. How do you know where to set the pinch bolt? Does everything need to be tightened at ride height? And then is an alignment needed afterwards? Questions like this would go great in your videos.

    • @racelandsuspension
      @racelandsuspension  7 лет назад

      Our lifetime guarantee covers any manufacturing defect or blown shock to the original purchaser, for life. If you ever do have a blown damper, call in with the part number on the side of the damper and we'll arrange to send you a replacement first. Once it is swapped, you'll just need to send in the claimed damper for testing.
      With regards to the torque values, I will pass along your recommendation to make mention of them but you can reference your stock manual for those values.
      Yes, everything will need to tightened and I'd recommend having an alignment done within a week of installing the coilovers.
