When kid showed up and beat him his self esteem never shifted. He continued to fully believe he was the best. Naruto had plenty of points of self doubt. Blackstar had none. Even the fact that he didnt know his parents never shook him. It did shake naruto. He just didnt speak in it till later. Blackstar's arrogance and ego are much larger than Naruto's. Naruto hides scars while blackstar is too full of himself to recieve them.

I had never noticed that Sid was Black Star's adoptive father when I read the manga, it's a shame they cut it out of the anime I think it would of been really cool for Sid and Black Star to have that bond especially in the battle with Arachne's minions. Idk if this seems like a logical explanation for grabbing the lasers or not BUT: Let's keep in mind that he can emit is soul wavelength. So if he ccovered, his hand with his own wavelength, he could protect his hands and throw them back.

Awesome as hell, In the early chapters of the manga he seemed the same, but later on like with the fight against the samurai mifune and how he had way more weapons, Its not only that but Black star honestly tries harder to push himself

Tsubaki is the last of the Weapon clan and the only one who can seem to not only tolerate but actually support and motivate Blackstar. he was a bratty little kid until we saw Tsubaki fight Masamune and what Blackstar went through juat to stay by Tsubakis side is more mature than anything we've seen anyone in the show do
