Interesting to see how different this build is going and how different it is compared to lumber construction. Thanks for sharing your progress.

I love to build and this looks like fun with a purpose.

Jz1239, if it were the final layer then yes a washer would be needed. In this application additional layers will go over them not needing a washer. The plastic material of the batten is also strong enough to do without.

    Hello Brice
I like all the thing you did to build your tiny house. Did you complete the build? I look but don't remember seeing the completion video.

Thanks for sharing your build, starting to look good, solid team around you. I really like the cavity battens, but no luck tracking a similar product up here in the UK, can any one point me in the right direction. Perfer not to use timber due to weight on the project that I and due to start. Cheers Dave.

You guys have really slowed down. How goes the build? I've never seen such a well designed Tiny House made out of what I consider the best products! Good Luck.

Why not use a rigid foam say of 1/2 inch thickness. You would gain insulation. I like the vented batons.
Saving the smallest weight on each item really adds up

use 1/2 thick foam insulation or why not just clad directly onto the steel. I'm assuming your skipping the sheathing to make it lighter but Why have those green things?

I had to go back to the last shot a couple of times. It looks like your trailer with the floor attached is in the last shot behind you and the Tiny House. Is someone else also building a Tiny House in the same space? I can't quite figure this out!!!

Why would there be no sheathing? Wrap and rain screens are just as much for timber builds as steel. Is the sheathing purely structural, and thus not needed for this type of frame, or is there protective purposes?

Sheathing is primarily for bracing(so yes, the engineered steel frame covers that) as well as fixing(makes things easier but adds needless weight for a moveable home).

Is the building wrap temporary or permanent?

I'm real curious as to about how much weight so far with the build. This surely is better than building with wood.

I like the magnet idea; I like streamlining connections but temporary fixing kind of defeats the point to some extent.
I feel like we could become salespeople for Fortress fasteners after this build, lol.

Wouldn't it be better to install the battens with screws that have a washer on it?

Hi Bryce, I hope you see this comment. I would like to know what gauge of steel did you use in this particular build. Thank you so much for making great videos!
