I want Dr. Greger to go over goji berries again. Because goji berries have a prop65 warning on them, even the organic ones. Is it accurate information that the prop65 warning is due to goji berries containing lead? What a waste of a good snack, I won't eat them due to the possible toxic metal lead. Thank you Veg Michigan for doing this.
What are his thoughts on patients that had a gastric bypass? My wife had that procedure about 8yrs ago and she complains of pain due to malabsorption . What would be the best course of action for her?
27:40 I can’t believe people still believe the whole grain = weight gain myth. ITS CALORIES IN, CALORIES OUT. Laws of thermodynamics. Doesn’t matter where the calories come from. That said, quality of calories matter and calories from protein and carbs is better than fat because it’s more volume for fewer calories vs fat, therefore less chance you overweight calories and gain weight. Grains/carbs and low fat proteins are the best, most satiating macronutrients one can eat to maintain weight for that reason. Legumes and sweet potatoes are great as well. If you’re gaining weight eating grains then it’s because you’re eating by too many calories, not the grains themselves.
Can you just eat the algae to get the dha and epa? What about exercise and people w/disabilitiesand chronic injuries and or illnesses that prevent or limit exercising?
What is your opinion on 'The Wahls Protocol' by Terry Wahls, MD for reversing/curing Rheumatoid Arthritis/Autoimmune Disease ? It seems to go against your teachings !? Please, Please Advise !
Terry Wahls was treating MS so you might find this video helpful: ruclips.net/video/dQzoISa7Z_I/видео.html Pam Popper's advice would, I think, mirror Michael Greger's on most if not everything and certain of their advice on healing MS would mirror that for all the other auto immune conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis. For all auto immune conditions they recommend a Low Fat Plant diet. So eliminate dairy and eggs and slash saturated fat intake. (Dr. John Mc Dougall says to keep saturated fat under 11g per day to maintain good health and under 8g if you are trying to heal an autoimmune disease. Good luck
He mentions the 7th day adventist live the longest and don't eat meat. This isn't true. Some do, most eat some kind of animal products. Last but not least long live of the 7th day adventist were pesctarians, they ate fish, vegan cames in second.
Eating dairy is hugely important to bone health. (If you have the enzyme for it.... not every culture does.) Every culture ( that is lactase persistent, in other words lactose tolerant) has always understood this and known this. what he's talking about are associations. Every large fire will have lots of firefighters. Firefighters don't cause fires though. That's an example of an association that does not prove causation. High dairy consuming societies have high amounts of bone fractures, today. True. These societies are in general the wealthier societies. They also consume high amounts of processed foods, high amounts of sugar , and are sedentary. And almost all the dairy consumed is the modern destroyed , homogenized, pasteurized, grain fed type. Drinking raw , grass-fed milk is possibly the single best food for your teeth and bones. I would know I was vegan for 18 years and my teeth suffered horribly. My teeth have greatly improved now and I feel so much better drinking plenty of milk kefir yogurt and cheese and butter.
I'm not saying you are right or wrong but you just accused Dr. Greger of associations and you say he is wrong because of your one personal example yourself. I've been vegan 15 years and my teeth are just as healthy. What study shows drinking cows milk improves bone health (not conducted by dairy industry)
And current science just focuses on standard milk and dairy. when you dig down into exactly how destroyed and altered modern milk is .....you realize that the health benefits can be even greater with grass-fed and raw milk. In terms of nutrition they are almost two different things.
@@szililolabu completely anecdotal. There is no science to back up your claim . As Alan Flanagan and Simon Hill have pointed out calcium is not doing its job without magnesium and Vit D!!!! So skip abusing cows!!!!! and , eat more greens for calcium and magnesium and certain whole grains. My friend is a dentist and I asked him this and he agreed with me and no he isn't vegan YET but he's coming around to the idea
I don't get star-struck much, but Dr.G is the MVP!
Sending love to Michigan from your neighbour Ontario.
The legend

When I wake to pee I see better vs when I’m trying to fall asleep. I have mutant powers though
Keep a little red headlight next to the bed

A warm smoothie's soup isn't it?
Maybe the person that has slow healing wounds has something like Elhers Danlos Syndrome or something like that.
Even if I was doctor greger and knew what the knows, I’d still know what to feed dogs. They’re omnivores. Feed them primarily meat.

The sea wasnt full of crap like it is now
He also said, and i quote "the vegetarian adventists" meaning he was distinguishing between the vegetarian and non vegetarian adventists.

@@szililolabu I think it is appropriate that current science focuses on standard milk and dairy because that is what 99.9% of Americans drink.

why will such a knowledgeable doctor, with the goal of helping people eat better, suggest we "microwave" our food???
why?
What's wrong with microwaving?
Because after much science there is no evidence yet to say it's dangerous. That's why
