Hani was chief of staff in the 1965/66 Wankie Campaigns in Matabeleland North near Victoria Falls, then John Dube JD alias Charles Sotsha Ngwenya from Zimnyama river in Plumtree near Botswana was the Commander of the joint Zipra-Mkhonto first battles of the Liberation struggle in Zimbabwe, then subsequent in 1966/67 Kenneth Mzathi of MK was the Chief of staff at Sipolilo while Moffart Hadebe (still alive) of Zipra from the Sotho dominant area of Mawaza in Gwanda Matabeleland South Province was the overall commander of both Zipra & MK (Sipolilo Campaigns) . Moffart Hadebe is also the first man to fire a gun in Zimbabwe's Liberation struggle in 1964 September!
