Smokin' Stevie tribute Lemmo. I remember when the 1st VH record dropped and a future rocker shared it with us. No one had ever heard anything quite like it. Blew us all away.
Killer sounding. Seeing that guitar brought back some memories. My first Fender was a Lead I in the same red and black color scheme. Bought it new when I graduated high school in 1981.
Awesome set Jimi and Stevie! Wow! I like that guitar Lemmo that black pick guard and all blacked out really sets off that red body! Ooooh! Awesome video Jen!
The guitar was played often w out a shirt. The acid in sweat eats the paint. When not played bare, in a T shirt since the top is even more damaged from the naked arm.
I have a current Strat in the same colour format because I wanted something a bit different. I also have an original '79 Strat in an early vintage cherry/sienna sun burst. Very heavy solid ash body. It has a great tone!
No this is wine or sometimes called midnight wine ( translucent deep red over ash) Only used for a few years in the late 70s along with mocha , black , natural , sunburst , blonde , Antigua
I've got the same guitar but with a hardtail bridge. I kept it but modified it. Tone is awesome now. It's got an amazing funk-friendly fingerboard ( the reason I kept it!) Weighs a ton..spent a lot of money on chiropractors!
That guitar sounds perfectly balanced tone ,,a very good Fender ,,I'd love to see a nightly giger bye it ,needs to be at a pub or bar every night, yeww,
Happy New Year to everyone at Norman's Rare Guitars! Thanks for all the great videos Jen and Lemmo! Can somebody please tell me what song was played on the neck pickup? I recognize it but can't quite remember what it is. I'm guessing something by SRV?
I bought an identical strat, new in 79, when I was in Germany. It was a piece of crap. The neck felt good, but I didnt know much about guitars at the time. It had so many problems. My MIJ 1986 Squier Strat was a far nicer guitar. Go figure.
That's a red sounding guitar. Crosstown traffic, so hard to get through to you. Tiretracks all across your back. I can see you've had your fun. The light's turned red. Lemmo, you're cooking! Whoo! Norm, give that man a raise.
ash body jazz bass with a all maple neck so you can mod it new tuners new bridge new pickups different wiring for the nobs (3 concentric pots) volume/volume ,bass/treble ,mids/frequency maybe some stacked humbuckers

Great job. I like the late 70’s strats. They have their own vibe. Keep up the great work guys!
02:22 this first note said everything it had its definitely got some mojo there
Starting out with that neck pick up we get epic Lemmo playing Hendrix like a boss!
Jimi Lemmo killin ' it.
Jimi Ray Eddie Lemmo
@@ancientfifer that too
I love the 79 Strats
Love my 79!
When Lemmo says, “Whooo! It’s mean, its a strat!” you know it’s good!
It’s refreshing watching n listening to him play
I have a 78 in white. Can't believe the guitar I made monthly payments on back in the 70's is now "rare."
Very cool. Really enjoy your playing and those Strat tones.
Killer sounding. Seeing that guitar brought back some memories. My first Fender was a Lead I in the same red and black color scheme. Bought it new when I graduated high school in 1981.
Love it when you do the rock stuff!
Jen .. "woohoo" , Michael .. "lets see what we get" , Me ... "yes". Thanks guys you are the best!
Lemmo is a beast ! Love that strat , I’m glad to see the wear on it , shows the previous owner used it
Michael plays these guitars the way they were meant to be played! He really brings out the best in these beautiful instruments.
Wooooo hoooooo (since Jenn forgot to do it) Love hearing Freedom, such a killer song
Wow freedom was unbelievable
Another late 70ies Fender Strat that sounds great in Michael's hands. It's that simple: Tone is in the fingers.
😎 Thanks Jen, Mike ⚓️

I saw Van Halen open up for Black Sabbath in 1978 “Oakland “ what a night!! Rock on Lemmo!!!
This episode was so nice
I had to watch it twice.
One of the best sounding Strats on G.O.T.D. 🎸
Sounds great!
Great sound by great playing 👍
Happy Stratorday👍 Great demo👌I think SRV would have agreed
One of the reddest sounding guitars I've ever heard! Thanks😊
Certainly has those Robin Trower vibes with that large headstock Strat and tones.
I have a current Strat in the same colour format because I wanted something a bit different. I also have an original '79 Strat in an early vintage cherry/sienna sun burst. Very heavy solid ash body. It has a great tone!
I think this is from the 'international colors'-series, when Fender brought back a lot of finishes they hadn't done for years.
Probably not
No this is wine or sometimes called midnight wine ( translucent deep red over ash)
Only used for a few years in the late 70s along with mocha , black , natural , sunburst , blonde , Antigua
Love the SRV!
awesome!
CLEAN
Chemical reaction on the back of the body.
Polyester finish + Light blue Spandex jumpsuit + liquor infused human sweat = colorized lumpy contour area.
Listen-up Murphy Lab!!
This special effect could be very desirable to certain peeps.
Hendrix playing was amazing Lemmo! Damn!!
Super fine playing on this...
Mean and nasty sound , love it! I was so hoping for some Scuttle Buttin'! You never disappoint ;)

Great guitars and still obtainable for us normal guys. Thank goodness
**LOVE NORMAN'S**
This bad boy has a serious Chris Duarte tone.
If anybody was to ever give a thumbs down those people have no soul
Great music!
My first good guitar was from that year and maple neck too but it was blonde. Miss it.
“A little bit of wear”. Translate “gouges and scratches down to bare wood”. Sounds pretty good though.
The wear looked like someone tried the home game of "Let's see if I can relic this.... Oops! Nope. I'd better stop there..."
Nice playing dude
I own a similar strat, also red with a black pickguard, but the neck is rosewood, which looks even sicker
Nice dude! 🤘🤘
Cool!!
Very good
Nice Sounds~
I admire your playing.Great Players dont need a Tremolo Bar to slur the strings. You do a Great job.Cool Strat.
I’ve got a ‘79 Anniversary, heavy as a boat anchor, but sweet sounding.
Sounds just like my 1979 strat but Lemmo is a better player than I
I like 70s stratocaster !
Very nice guitar!! ❤️
Sounds pretty nice.
Chop that Wood Michael! I mean damn!
Killer playing! Got the same but trans red late '79 with rosewood in amazing shape. HEAVY, but has the tone!
4:50 pew!
La Cienaga goes hard my boy
Amusing. Fender died when CBS took over, but somehow the narrative changed so that a 79 strat is cool
I Couldn't Stand the Weather back east, so I moved to California
Stevie Rave On . Ritchie Blackmore probably played the early 1970's Stratocasters . Late 1970's don't sound as good some how . Good playing though !
Dude can flat out play.
My precision's pretty much the same as this, but with rosewood fretboard. the finish is well worn.
That guitar sounds perfectly balanced tone ,,a very good Fender ,,I'd love to see a nightly giger bye it ,needs to be at a pub or bar every night, yeww,
That thing is beautiful
Would match my Maple Neck LBP Squier so nicely
Little Spanish Castle Magic in there?
Happy New Year to everyone at Norman's Rare Guitars! Thanks for all the great videos Jen and Lemmo!

F'in Love it, Trower, SRV, Eddie, Man you were born 40 yrs too late. Rock god!!
🤘🏼
I have a 79 basement 135 that is just wanting me to buy this
Sweet fiddle
Lemons you're a monster.
What's the name of the first song that Lemmo played?
Freedom by Jimi Hendrix
Hello, what song is that?
Que captadores são esses???????????
Sik!
Smoke em if you got em!!

The light's turned red. Lemmo, you're cooking! Whoo!
Norm, give that man a raise.
What is the song at 9 minutes???
Someone has got to play some Politician!
No a bad way to end a week! Love a good 70s Strat! However! Gotta do a Maton!
ash body jazz bass with a all maple neck so you can mod it new tuners new bridge new pickups different wiring for the nobs (3 concentric pots) volume/volume ,bass/treble ,mids/frequency maybe some stacked humbuckers
Looks like someone tried to relic that beauty for no reason
Or you know its been around for over 40 years
The B string sits not on it's place... The saddle...
yeah, exactly how u supposed to play a fender strat !
Lemmo saving RocknRoll
wait!!!!!!! I thought Jimmy was DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For a 70's Strat it really sounds Stratty? The most absurd thing I have ever heard! It's a Stratocaster, what would you expect?
Play authentic or play new and improved ?
This guitars color looks like Ferrari red Ferrari should sue Fender
It’s translucent but hard to see in the video , this colour is called wine 🍷
Terrible demo, need to hear clean sounds first. Could be any 3 pup guitar with that overdrive. Disappointed.
