Lemmo just gets better and better every time he plays
yes, he has some serious chops.
They are not just NOTES any more, they are EXPRESSIONS...and Lemmo is riding that wave and you feel it. Well done Lemmo 🙌
Lemmo has quickly became one of my favorite guitarists
I was just about to make that same comment ,then this was the first one
Get a woman, dude.
@@rockhead69 I got a woman dude she's prob your mother
@@melonface57 good one, stuck the dagger straight in🤣🤣
@@rockhead69 you fell into that one !
"Comfortably numb" ⇒ automatic upvote!
now that's what a stratocaster sounds like in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing , one of Lemmo's finest demonstrations , spectacular, from Gilmour to VH , couldn't be two more different players , but perfectly handled , luv the black on black , great look , great sound , a stratomaster , thanks guys.
WHAT THE HELL, LEMMO ???!!!!!! Feeling it today🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ha! Yeah!
He was feeling it today
Fucking weapon. Man I’d kill to play like that.
Me too dude. Me too.
Lemmo may love jazzmasters, but he was born to play a strat!!!
Just wow 🤗🎶
My fav demo from lemmo yet, the versatility on his playing is soooo strong on this one
Long time subscriber. Frequent Norm’s with my little kids, who mostly behave. Today’s GOTD is just built different. Compelled to comment. Cheers, Lemmo. Keep on...
How can anyone give this the thumbs down ? Lemmo took you through Gilmour to EVH in 5 tones and loops on a Strat you don’t see every day .
Unfortunately, you can always count on a few malcontent turds to try and spread their jealous and general misery.
It’s always impressive to just see the real versatility of these amazing guitars brought out by a truly gifted musician. Thank you for taking us all to school, yet again, Mr. Lemmo. Also, Jen brings the magic😀!
Lemmos is a different beast
Lemmo first of all you’re a great host and a fantastic player so I apologise for being pedantic but that guitar is not what collectors refer to as a Dan Smith Strat it’s a Standard Strat produced from mid 83 to late 84 a budget Strat made to reduce costs Bill Carson referred to it as “The Stratocaster in its worst configuration.”
Dan Smith Strats or to give them their correct title “The Smith Strat” were only made for a very short time in 82. Some of the features that guitars referred to as “Dan Smith Strats” have are three control knobs, a vintage style trem, F stamped tuners, truss rod adjustment at the heal and a Black Fender logo with Stratocaster in huge black capitals on the headstock. I’m only pointing this out because here in the U.K. Smith Strats tend to sell for around £1000 more than two knob Standard Strats.
If you want to see a Dan Smith Strat in action check out “Big Country - Porrohman (The Tube 17/2/1984) on RUclips, here you can see Stuart Adamson, Big Country’s frontman, playing a “Smith Strat”.
Everyone loves a 'know it all' brother 😉
Just don’t want anybody spending too much on the wrong guitar
@@jimir68 I appreciate that you pointed that out.
@@mrtambourineman6107He's pointing out the facts. The "Smith" Strats were the antithesis of this model.
Yes when CBS sold Fender to Bill Schultz’s investment group their Fullerton facility was not included in the deal so from February to October 1985 Fender didn’t produce any guitars in the USA. Fender Japan kept Fender going until they got new premises at Corona and sorted other teething problems out.
I’ve been watching for years and I’ve been waiting for lemmo play Pink Floyd ! Favourite band, great cover Michael !
damn, Lemmo, that was a hell of a straturday...you were great today!
Jen, “That was great!” One time, please put Jen on about what it is like to see the Lemmo do his thing daily on the channel. It was great Michael.
If I ever have enough money I would buy them all and give some to Lemmo, just for being so good.Aloha from Hawaii.
Yea dude he killed this. Especially middle- bridge
The middle?? Fuck off!! Clearly the bridge was far superior ffs
@@mrtambourineman6107 I said middle/bridge. But nah man I’m not big on high gain sounds. They’re cool for outros cause they’re badass but other than that I’m just not really drawn to them
Sometimes I forget how great of a guitar player Michael really is
My face lights up seeing the notification for your videos everyday. Norman's rare guitars is the highlight of my day!
Play dat funky music white boy....Lemmo is such a beast. One of my favorite players. Masterful playing as usual🔥🔥
Oh my god! Mr Lemmo has that mindblowing amount of strings on his lyre!!! Such an inspiration!!! Flawless!!!Greetings from Sweden
Idk how this dude playing all these riffs with such an easiness awesome LEMMO 🤝❤️
That guitar at the start sounded amazing
Lemmo! Great playing as always. Your Gilmour is dead on! Cheers and thanks!
Lemmo...dude!...awesome. Whatever 'it' is....you've got it in spades. I take great pleasure in listening to you as always.
Now *THAT* was a MuhF'kn Straturday! 💥
Black Strats Matter lol
Jen is sooo wooo! Fitting that Lemmo played The Wall on a black Strat.
Like a good wine Mike...you are getting better and better with time 🎸⏳⌚⏰🕰⏲🎸👍✌🎯🇺🇲
love lemmo, best creative guitar demos out there! :D
Thanks for doing an ‘83.... I love my Sienna Burst Dan Smith....
Lemmo is awesome! I just discovered him and I really like the way he play!!
One of your best Michael.
Every day should be Straturday🎸 that was insane 🤟
Straterday is my favorite day! Lemmo's best jams are on Straterday! Then of course the Petrilli duets are second!
Thanks Michael.
Lemmo, I like to see your fingers dancing on the fretboard. Nice fourth song!
Such a clever player. Thank you ❤
What an interesting guitar! I don't think I've seen the output be right on the pickguard like that before, at least not in a Strat. Very cool!
Absolutely Top of the Game Michael
That Strat sounds beautiful !!
I love Norm's, but I wish there was a place to go see this guy outside of a 'guitar of the day' video. So much character in his playing . . . could listen for hours.
The 1983 strat is the reason I am a telecaster person today. Way back when I was 13 my mom took me in to get my first real guitar. (Which I worked for) Took one look at the 2 knobs, output jack, and that funky tremolo system 😢 and settled on a gold bowling ball telecaster. 40 years later, still play teles, still have the 83 tele, and a few strats as well. Post CBS 😊
imagine shopping for a guitar at norms then you hear lemmo smashing it up...
I admire and have an incentive when I see Lemmo play. thank you so much.
I had this guitar new in White it has an unusual tremelo there is Allen key access on the trem plate to loosen the springs
I bought a black left handed one with white pickguard in 84- i think it was an 83 ½... i was 15, and it was my first high end guitar, worked all summer selling tshirts at the flea market, and then went to sell charts in Sturgis so i could afford this.... i miss it!
Just WOW!
That's all.
that strat gots some tone! nice riffin Lemmo
Omg thanks that was amazing mate
this right here is my all time favourite micheal lemmo jam. very classy!
Good lawd Lemmo.... Unreal
Holy smokes that was brilliant
The second to last song has to be released for streaming. I could ride around listening to that on repeat for hours.
That Floyd solo was so nice 7:55
I love watching GUITAR OF THE DAY ..., and STRATURDAY is my Favorite 👍🏻👍🏻🎸🎸🎸🎸
All I can say is Wow ... Lemmo kills it
Well... thats one for the archives 🔥🔥🔥
Great playing again... That's when fender tired to fix stuff that wasn't wrong with the Stratocaster...that term claw adjustment under the pickups is a nightmare..
No springs on the back! It it a pretty guitar! Awesome video Lemmo and awesome guitar work as usual! Totally enjoyed the video!
Lemmo... You smoked it.
Lemmo straight killing it!
Holy smokes mr Lemmo that was a beastly demo for sure ...we thank you and of course Jen (the boss) which with out none of these great GOTD clips would not be possible .... 👍🏻
Lemmo is the one. The one to save music. He is the one
Almost stood up at my desk with my lighter held high on that last Eddie solo
Lemmo is unreal
Great démo lemmo.cheers from France to all the team at Norman s
Idk why but I've been on a lemmo binge lol
Edit: I just realized my brother has the same model, year, and everything his is just switched out with a Seymour Duncan hot rail in the bridge. It was my dad's brother in law's guitar at first but, he got scared that my dad's sister would kill him if she found out how much he paid for it lol, so he changed the bridge pickup and gave it to my dad and it eventually got passed onto my older brother.
the necks are very nice on these guitars . my 83 had a 3 pos from new . they do have some feed back .
Great segment as usual. I have one of these 83 Standards in my collection. Black with white pick guard. Have the tremolo arm as well.
i got a black with the white guard too maple neck and finger board, the original; case hard plastic was cracked several spots about 1996 got it a gig bag then a few yrs latter another hard case, I have the tremolo bar too, did he ever say what these are worth now ?? I didn't think of it as vintage it was new when i got it , was going to replace my 69 gretsch but i went back to the gretsch after a few years.
Superb
Wrong about the two knobs being introduced in 81. They were 83 only. The freeflyte trem system is terrible but they are an incredibly well built Strat, exceptionally light and play very well.
Love the another brick in the wall section
The girl behind the camera was definitely loving it haha
These black strats are rad TO THE MAX
Lemmo the melody maker!
That looks so amazing, black on black!!!! I want one!
If it hasn't already been said, that is not the original case. Fender cases of that era were rectangular. That looks like a late 1980s or early 1990s Fender case. I'm also surprised you didn't expand on the uniqueness of the bridge on that guitar. I think the tremolo, master tone, and pickguard mounted output jack were all CBS-era cost cutting efforts and not to the benefit of the instrument. The coolest guitars of this era were the "bowling ball" finished ones! This is significant as the end of the CBS era guitars since Fender would be sold in 1985 and US production would not resume until 1986. Excellent demo as always! \m/
There is always a ton of stuff that isn't said. So thanks for the info.
That was truly spectacular ML ! Keep em coming. Thanks.
This one gives me goosebumps! 🎸🎶😊
Wow, this demo reminds me actually how bad we amateurs are all playing after so many years... Well, hats down Mr. Lemmo, congrats on your playing and incredibly versatile style
!!!
Nothing better than a trip back to the 80s! Awesome guitar for an awesome week! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Great playing as always Lemmo. Not the original pick guard it would have been white, not the original trem arm and not the original case. Great guitar I have 2 of them.
i got one with maple finger board and white pickguard my original case was a square plastic molded thing it got cracked and the hinges popped loose and was replaced by a gig bag about 1993, since then i got a different hard case, but there are little metal slider buttons on the bottom of them plastic cases I'dd lost them too nice guitars but i don;t think the cases were very good.
Excellent guitar player. You really have a unique feel.
Nice job, Lemmo!
Piercing, wonderful tone on that first song.
Don’t mind me Lemmo I might borrow some of those licks you played on the middle and bridge if you don’t mind😂😂😂😅😅😅. That’s a pertyy Strat! My favorite color Strat is black with a rosewood fingerboard, tortoise pickguard, and yellow electronics & hardware!
Your playing hypnotizes a prospect, 😵💫 into comfortably numb ownership! 🤝 🎸
i watch for hours , instead sports its Lemmo
Ahhh mr Gilmore 👍🏼😊. Nice job Lemmo 🎸 just saw this.
Whew, I think you need that guitar. You got the greatest job.
You play that 83 better than I play mine. But that is not the original case. Or at least nothing like the one I have came in.
my original case was a square molded plastic job that only lasted about 10 yrs it was cracked in a few spots one hinge popped loose lost some of the metal button feet , it was a good guitar but the case no.
Me-*hears Lemmo do a demo*
Also me- *wipes away tear; sells ALL my guitars and enters depression *
Lol… just kidding… great as always Lem!
Freakin Straturday, hell yeah!🤘🎸🤘
Great job Lemmo,sounding great!!!
Dude you are so awesome and so inspiring. Thank you for doing these, they make such a huge difference
On a side note I would buy the shit out of a guitar only cover album from you
I don’t need drums I don’t need bass. Just want to hear how you translate songs to guitar.
Damn I think will need a Lemmo and Aganisi head cuttin' duel!!! Nice work!
Lemmo is going off today. Where is this on the website?
Huge Pink Floyd fan , Been waiting for you to go there more ! The Wall, was A Great Album , some time around 1979 / 1980 . Got Hooked on Pink Floyd with the song " Money " from 1973 Album . Always Good to here Pink Floyd PLAYED !
I remember Joe Bonamassa talking about a tuxedo strat🔥
🎵 Just another Strat on the wall🎵
I like the music in the background. Nice touch!
