Dear Kate, if you ever spend your valuable time reading boring comments on youtube: I want to thank you for all the shivers that you made running down my spine in the last dozens of years. When I heard the endless possibilities of your voice I shaked my head hundreds of times, shouting out "unbelievable". Thank you for making my life more beautiful!
Thankyou Yanka for your extraordinary talent.I have followed you and your music ever since I heard your voice here in the U.K. on the Mystere des Voix Bulgares album, then Trio and then seeing you live several times.Your voice never fails to inspire and reduce me to tears.
I think this is some of Kate's most underrated music. The first time I heard it it gave me chills. It still does, particularly if I happen to have the music playing in my ears walking around town.
2:03 "WAS IT ME, SAID YOU WERE CRAAAZYYYYYYY" the power in her voice, holy shit. And those bulgarian vocals. Chills everytime... This is pure beauty and art
I don't know how many times I listened to this song and loved it. Finally, I listened to the words and was further blown away. Kate is great. If I had to choose someone to represent the human race to some intergalactic cultural council, I'd send Kate. She's the best in all of us.
fretlssfender The closest tune i could think of is by Aussie psych rock band Psychedelic Porn Crumpets "Denmark, Van Gogh and Gone" off their 2015 album "High Visceral". Doesn't include the amazing Trio Bulgarka though.
Bat for lashes, bjork, sevdaliza, a-we from Israel erm there's many amazing creative women in music today! Kate definitely opened the door for these artists to be more than either pop stars or rock idols but putting kate on a pedestal neglects the amazing contribution that women make every day to the art. Honourable mentions to Ani diFranco, anais Mitchell, laurie Anderson, Liz frazer, tori Amos, dear departed sinead O'connor, rip also Dolores oriordan and polly styrene, janis joplin, nico. Oh and the immortal siouxsie sioux.
Kate is one of the very few artists that brings tears to my eyes with her amazing songs. Not with sadness , just with the thought of how fantastic her songs are . Not songs , works of art really i think
there is something so vital about her music that speaks straight to my soul. I remember the first time I ever heard her music when I was five years old. it is like she charges it all with so much feeling, the feeling is palpable. I'm so grateful for this woman's music, it's always been an important part of my life
I was blessed to hear Wuthering Heights on its release in my college room radio one Saturday afternoon. It stopped me in my tracks and I've never looked back. She is my favourite artist of all time. Genius, utter genius.
For the whole of Kate's unique and stunning body of work, this stands out as one of the highlights for me, it is pure poetry, and never fails to move me in the most beautiful way. I have adored her music since I was very young, i'm now 54, and her music still moves me, tears in my eyes now just thinking about it !
I'm quite sure no one else on planet earth could've wrote this song, but this rather remarkable woman... not with that subject matter, lyric and completely unique arrangement.........nope. Genius-------
amazing that she has used Bulgarian folklore for some of her tracks back in 1989. I am Bulgarian and did not know until now. Found her through Wuthering Heights and loved the song... she is a great artist. at 1.04 is Kate dressed as a traditional Bulgarian? wow
@@ubergeraldine yes we are, our folklore is very original and unlike everywhere else in the world. (But it's not to everyone's taste I think:) ) It's great that another musician like Kate Bush has acknowledged us in her music.
@@atlantidaunderground Loved the Mystery of Bulgarian Voices that came out in the late 1980s in the UK, Kate Bush uses the Trio Bulgarka to great effect here. I now live in Bulgaria and the folk singing and dancing tradition is still so alive. I love it.
I remember listening to this album via CD in my barracks room in San Antonio, Kelly AFB, headphones, screaming it to myself, into my own mouth, as a 19yo, and loving it. LOVING IT! This tune was important to me. Maybe about freedom, maybe about escape, maybe about Kate Bush! Reflecting back, mostly about Kate Bush, Queen. (And the arrangement of this tune, come on, it's singular.)
Still kills it for me. this whole album is a masterpiece. I don't imagine Kate will read this but the love burns strong and eternal. Unique genius and always will be
This is stunning and with that roaring David Gilmour guitar work this song takes you on a journey of such powerful emotion Kate's music has this seductive and moving power like nobody else
I absolutely love Kate's sheer and utter brilliance! Her unapologetic weirdness is awesome! I remember playing this song in the car and after the song finished he said, "WTF was that?" I said it's none other than Kate 'motherf*ckin' Bush!
LoL, RIGHT ON!!! I dug, Kate, since I was a Teen. Anything, with passion, rhythm, originality, I connected with & Kate Bush has Soul & My Southern Black Mother introduce me, early. And, IT Ain't a Color!!! It's s Feeling/Spirit with melody & rhythm that moves you, to feel, you can... Whatever.
Larry Yelen I didn't get to see her, I couldn't get to see her in London, I meant again as in she's done concerts before in London and she was doing another one but I couldn't make it.. :(
+Lucian Suciu the best thing she did after the early albums for me. I know just know this had a big influence on florence welch too which is fine by me
'Cloudbusting' did this last night as one of the final tunes of their "30th Anniversary of 'Hounds of Love'" show in Islington - it is one of the very few KB songs that I have not listened to over and over, and they had the London Bulgarian choir backing them, and the impact was just ....... indescribable. If anything, better than this recorded version.
Thank you, +Flo Jo Nothing could be more wonderful to us than playing Kate's incredible music live. It has been a true delight to work with such great talent as Eleanor, Polly, Cole, and Bernard from the London Bulgarian Choir. We have made some fantastic new friends working on this project and long may we continue to get Kate's music 'out there'.
Just magic, that's all I can say about Kate Bush's musicality, originality, intelligence, feel, poetic skills and taste. One of my great musical heroes. Just magic. And what a fabulous combination with this marvellous trio. "Just" magic as well.
I always have a musical muse when I write, and for my paranormal Sandstone Medieval Beginnings Series, that muse is Kate Bush. Her album, The Sensual World, is my absolute favorite. The whole thing is hauntingly beautiful. One of my favorite hard-rocking songs is Rocket's Tail. Just freaking amazing.
honestly this song and In Every Dream Home a Heartache by Roxy Music have the same sort of rare glam, avant-garde, eerie energy. would love to hear a mashup of them someday. this song is ridiculously underrated in Kate's discography!!

Oh my, best, most moving song ever. Would love to hear a live version. Thanks for posting with lyrics and all. Now off to dress up as a rocket and fire myself directly into the sun.
I found myself listening to this song for about the hunderedth or somethingth time, and it struck me... it was short for a reason. Like the comet in the sky, like the mournful girl who saw only a stick on the fire, as they strike the surface... Gives me chills every time it ends, and there's no silence like it.
Actually the singing in the background features a Bulgarian love song :) Thought it might be an interesting info :) It definitely is my favourite Kate Bush song!

I could not agree more.
The Trio Bulgarka strike such a primal "chord!"
Seems like no modern songwriters can come anywhere remotely close to this level creativity and brilliance
Only Mozart could reach Kate Bush's songs.
Agreed. I can only compare to the secular songs of Henry Purcell, who are of similar beauty.
Dunno if he's at that level yet, but Geographer is a pretty incredible artist who covers Kate's Cloudbusting well.
2:03 "WAS IT ME, SAID YOU WERE CRAAAZYYYYYYY"

Same! Kate and kurt vonnegut. Everything else is fluff.
I like the comment though I don't think KB is nativre to this planet...she is from the interglatic council.
This is one of the greatest song in pop music history. Kate's voice, Bulgarka, guitar - everything is just perfect.
Unbelievable song, what a match made in heaven, Kate, The Trio Bulgarka, and Dave Gilmour.
Nowadays... who would come up with something daring and genius as this? Just Who?

Sublieme gedurfde combinatie van de ongeëvenaarde Kate Bush met Trio Bulgarka. En nog een mooie vette solo van haar 'ontdekker' David Gilmoure erin!
Extraordinary. Loving David Gilmour's contribution as well, guitar as a rocket. The wonderful Kate....
