Honestly I almost cried a little when Xiao ordered Pervases favorite food in respect for his fallen friend. Xiao may be a bit harsh to strangers and humans but he has a deep respect for his allies and friends. He's a lot deeper than just a edgy duche that just kills demons, he's doing a great service for the land he loves and takes a heavy burden on his shoulders that causes him a lot of suffering. Xiao has definitely become one of my favourite characters, the only other character who made me emotional was Razor, when he was told he's just a human. God this game is way too good.

I've got two main teams in Genshin Impact; the first one is my MAIN main team, the stronger team, the one I've been using and shaping since the start of the game; with Albedo, Razor, Jean, and Xingqiu And then I have another team,,,, that I'm building slowly; Xiao, Keqing, Mona, and Bennett. I just got Mona and I'm still building her and getting used to her so I like to think that Xiao's calling her useless

It's really intriguing that Venti has apparently made a concerted effort to keep Xiao sane all this time, especially since he wasn't even taking care of Mondstadt for most of that time. Also the cutscene implies that the other Yaksha who survived (and simply decided to retire from the physical world) was the Geo yaksha, which I guess implies that he and Xiao were the ones who maintained their sanity due to the help of Barbatos and Morax, their patron archons. Also the way he says it, especially in English, is edgy (he doesn't sound as angry all the time in Chinese, just very serious), but that "to exist is to suffer" bit is actually a well-known Buddhist saying and isn't really edgy at all when you understand what it's getting at. Xiao references Buddhist texts and myth a lot, actually, and the "karmic bonds" that cause him to suffer due to the enormous number of lives he has ended and the evil beings he has struggled with are a Buddhist concept as well.

I think Bwaap has a really complicated set of rules and trials which need to be tested on the character and they are probably hard to pass and is the reason why he has only pulled for one character.

It's really intriguing that Venti has apparently made a concerted effort to keep Xiao sane all this time, especially since he wasn't even taking care of Mondstadt for most of that time. Also the cutscene implies that the other Yaksha who survived (and simply decided to retire from the physical world) was the Geo yaksha, which I guess implies that he and Xiao were the ones who maintained their sanity due to the help of Barbatos and Morax, their patron archons.
Also the way he says it, especially in English, is edgy (he doesn't sound as angry all the time in Chinese, just very serious), but that "to exist is to suffer" bit is actually a well-known Buddhist saying and isn't really edgy at all when you understand what it's getting at. Xiao references Buddhist texts and myth a lot, actually, and the "karmic bonds" that cause him to suffer due to the enormous number of lives he has ended and the evil beings he has struggled with are a Buddhist concept as well.
