I mean, do the traveler actually knows how to break a statue of seven? Or to deal with abyssal energy at least? Things could go south pretty quickly if the traveler tried to do anything at all regarding the defiled statue
the abyss twin has really been waiting longer tho? keep in mind that they had to be awake for ALL 500 of those years, while the traveler was most likely only awake at the beginning of khaenri'ah's fall and only woke back up like months ago. plus the abyss twin is on a mission and has their own priorities with toppling celestia or whatever. and it makes sense that it would be important to them given that they witnessed people literally being turned into monsters and, again, have been on teyvat for 500 years. lumine and aether were world travelers before all this, so this might just be the longest they've ever stayed in one place. it makes sense that the abyss twin would be attached while the traveler just wants to gtfo. in the abyss twin's mind, sure, reuniting with their sibling is important, but they already know that they're alive and well, so what's the rush? like they said, they've always had enough time. (also, just a minor unrelated gripe, but i'm highkey tired of people specifically digging at lumine when aether is the abyss twin if you play as lumine too. like damn.)
I didn't had Traveller on my team when talking to Dain, so as soon as the "Don't trust the archons" chat ended it immediatelly switched to Venti... the atmosphere felt a little awkward

that ending made me realize that this journey isnt about finding our sister, its about seeing how terrible or amazing teyvat is as we slowly realize we are thwarting a plan for the greater good

@@deltastar4147 i dont think theyre on either side tbh. they havent rlly done anything to directly stop the abyss or fatui and save mondstadt or liyue. venti just wanted to save his friend, though in the process he has to stop the abyss. zhongli wanted to see how liyue fares on its own without his help and i dont remember him directly going into combat with anyone. of course i'm not sure about this since its been a while since these quests have been released (mihoyo plz progress the story just a bit faster, idk if 7 months for a new region is a super good pace cause from the unreconciled stars event up until 1.4 its mainly just been fillers) Edit: fixed typo

I just love the fact that when Paimon asks the Traveler to be optimistic and continue until the end of the journey, we are on first person perspective. It's like she is actually talking to us, the players, encouraging us to keep playing. That's really cool.

SO BASICALLY Lumine woke up first and saw Khaenriah being destroyed and woke Aether up and Aether didnt know shit cus Lumine said lets gtfo of here and then Unknown God said fk u u not leaving? Is that the timeline?
I think it happens in a different order. I believe Aether and Lumine were traversing the land and ended upon an unknown god after wanting to leave. You both got frozen, she somehow woke up earlier, traveled with Dainsleif experiencing her own story, and then witnessed the destruction of Khaenri'ah, which is why she hates Dainsleif for failing to protect it.
I thought he was possessed by abyss magic or something and would come charging toward us like a zombie. I spent a good amount of time just staring at him in shock.
So this probably why the gods destroy Khaenriah, the first Ruin Guard climbed up the Stormterror's Lair and tried to shot the Celestia with it's missles but it never reached (thus 'Tyrant's Fury' from Barbara's story), afterwards it deactivated on its own (perhaps to losing too much energy for firing too much). The gods noticed this and destroyed Khaenriah afterwards.

Paimon was such a comfort food in this quest. MC was confused and emotional while lil paimon over there tried to help. She sure is an emergency food for this kind of emergency.
I think we are missing the fact that Dain knew all along that he has be traveling with his sister. And never told Aether. Like, if he really was our friend he would have told us that you something like "oh yeah you look a lot like this girl I traveled with and your looking for your sister huh."

Who realized Dain went to the Abyss with the Eye in his pocket. He was almost handing them the Eye to make Osial the Cybernetic Squid God of Mass Destruction. Not only that, but he never broke the statue and so he really set up Lumine here.
Now that i think about it he is probably avoiding them because they have a vision which the gods of Celestia or Archons can spy on and learn of his survival and come to finish him off
Can we talk about How the traveller helped everyone and everything to this point but as soon as They reuinted with their sibling, they were like: I DON'T CARE about all this abyss stuff, lets get the hell out of this world
Wish our MC voiced the dialogue we chose but from the reply writing we can see our MC was in so much confusion and longing for the sibling. All they care about is to be reunited whatever it takes.
Because that's literally what they're here for? To look for their long lost sibling and go back to their original plan, to leave Teyvat and go to another world.

Well seeing how the gods of tevat are sometimes dicks to not only each other but their people I wouldn't blame Lumine. We recently only seen venti's and zholing side of the story while most of the sorta bad gods were kill or trapped under the ocean. I hope we get some nice evil moments from the electro archon
there's possibility that Lumine is deceived/brainwashed into fighting against god/humanity. When you have access to battle pass for the first time, there's a short story voiced by Venti about a princess from kingdom among the heaven that got deceived to believe she is the queen of darkness. Lumine now have the mindset of extremist/terrorist, he lump all gods and the people under the gods together as her enemy simply because one or some gods do terrible thing.
thinking about how only the abyss sibling calls traveler by their real name ... could it be that the name we gave ourselves is just an alias? the traveler has too much trust issues to even give their real name to anyone? i mean, even paimon calls us by our chosen nickname after the abyss twin leaves, and there are many instances in the quest where traveler has thoughts that they don’t care to share with anyone. so that means, traveler literally trusts no one ... such a lonely life they must live on teyvat :(

I think what Lumine meant by ‘you will see the true nature of this world’ is how traveler got taken advantage of. Everyone made him do quests and favors for them, no one actually helped.
I don't know why I have a feeling that once we reach the last nation in Tevyat--which might appear after 4 or 5 years on the game map--we will hate all the nations in the end. And act just like the twin sibling, because seriously, nobody cares for the traveller. Nobody is willing to help the traveller look for his/her lost twin. And I think the ending would be very tragic.
tbh when we're done with liyue archon quest, keqing did ask what the traveler want as a return but they respond with wanting a bunch of missing person posters so technically, the traveler asked for it themselves. it's probably the same case in mondstats too

"Do I?" We all asked ourselves that question, and for a moment we disconnected from Aether, we no longer control it, I had a strange feeling, even the protagonist we control hides things from us T_T
I have a headcanon about that, well maybe a theory. When we awoke, we couldn't remember anything other than the unknown God. But as time went on, we began to piece it back together. Perhaps like the blocks we were placed in, our mind slowly fit itself back together. So once we started to remember, we researched for a long time. Much like with Kun Jun searching for "dragonfall" without knowing why, we looked for a civilization destroyed before, but the name escapes us. Only when we hear the name Khaenriah do we remember, the flashbacks of the burning nation, our sibling's words, the panic in their words. Anyways, just my theory :3
Only started playing recently, so when Aether said he knew about it when I as the player had never seen the name before (I hadn't done any side stories, so if it's mentioned in one of those, I didn't know. Still don't know, in fact), yeah, there was a massive disconnect.
Am I the only one who’s kind of suspicious how well Paimon is taking all of this? I mean, she’s barely even phased when she learns that not only is her travel companions sister probably the leader of the Abyss Order, but the Abyss Order themselves where once citizens of Khaenri’ah.

Aether and Lumine have traveled to countless worlds. So when Aether and Lumine arrived at Teyvat, they must have thought: "this again?, exploring the new world that we discover, making connections with the people there and finally we forget them when we leave this world"
Aether’s expression. Lumine’s cold and rigid voice and demeanor. The voice acting overall. The music. The story. Games barely ever break my soul but this man? This hit different.
I recommend watching the Lumine as traveler version of that scene. Abyss Princess Lumine sounds cold and detached, whereas Abyss Prince Aether sounds sad and defeated. It's really interesting to see the differences between the two.
So I noticed some things that really impacted that scene. Aether's eyelids are higher up and more puppy-like, so sad expressions are much more well-expressed by Aether, while Lumine's eyelids are slimmer(??), so she looks wayyy colder than Aether does if he was in her position (I chose Lumine). It's really interesting and nice how it affects the scene differently

The game files call her Asmoday also she is likely the ruler of celestia and the Japanese dub does not say destiny but heavenly principles so Lumine wants to destroy celestia. Also the heavenly principles are stronger than the archons and so the sustainer of heavenly principles should be the God of Teyvat
I play as Lumine and I do agree. I do also think that they both fit very well. It works really well, especially since they are different people. Lumine looks cold and indifferent, while Aether looks like one of dem mislead Shounen protagonists

Lumine's eng VA sounds so fierce and blaming while talking about dain, while her japanese VA is very soft and somewhat stoic, but not emotionless at all. it's a completely different experience to listen to both!
Aether's eng va sounds so fierce as well and got that older brother got evil vibe, his voice was immaculate lol and i got pissed when he cared more about why lumine was with dain, i just wished though that our leads would speak but alas we still mute lol.
I play in cn, and lumine's va actually sounds almost cold. She only softens a little at the "home" part. I found the vod of aether's cn va playing this part, and he voiced all his lines (the options) and it was heartbreaking. He sounded so sad. TAT

the abyss twin has really been waiting longer tho? keep in mind that they had to be awake for ALL 500 of those years, while the traveler was most likely only awake at the beginning of khaenri'ah's fall and only woke back up like months ago. plus the abyss twin is on a mission and has their own priorities with toppling celestia or whatever. and it makes sense that it would be important to them given that they witnessed people literally being turned into monsters and, again, have been on teyvat for 500 years. lumine and aether were world travelers before all this, so this might just be the longest they've ever stayed in one place. it makes sense that the abyss twin would be attached while the traveler just wants to gtfo. in the abyss twin's mind, sure, reuniting with their sibling is important, but they already know that they're alive and well, so what's the rush? like they said, they've always had enough time.
(also, just a minor unrelated gripe, but i'm highkey tired of people specifically digging at lumine when aether is the abyss twin if you play as lumine too. like damn.)

@@deltastar4147 i dont think theyre on either side tbh. they havent rlly done anything to directly stop the abyss or fatui and save mondstadt or liyue. venti just wanted to save his friend, though in the process he has to stop the abyss. zhongli wanted to see how liyue fares on its own without his help and i dont remember him directly going into combat with anyone. of course i'm not sure about this since its been a while since these quests have been released (mihoyo plz progress the story just a bit faster, idk if 7 months for a new region is a super good pace cause from the unreconciled stars event up until 1.4 its mainly just been fillers)

I think it happens in a different order. I believe Aether and Lumine were traversing the land and ended upon an unknown god after wanting to leave. You both got frozen, she somehow woke up earlier, traveled with Dainsleif experiencing her own story, and then witnessed the destruction of Khaenri'ah, which is why she hates Dainsleif for failing to protect it.
When I first saw the dead treasure hoarder, I thought he was missing a head and I internally panicked.

The fact that the ruin guard in Stormterror's lair was looking directly at Celestia...
It was probably trying to bring it down. I love how mihoyo is pretty subtle with their hints until it's finally revealed.
So this probably why the gods destroy Khaenriah, the first Ruin Guard climbed up the Stormterror's Lair and tried to shot the Celestia with it's missles but it never reached (thus 'Tyrant's Fury' from Barbara's story), afterwards it deactivated on its own (perhaps to losing too much energy for firing too much). The gods noticed this and destroyed Khaenriah afterwards.

Well seeing how the gods of tevat are sometimes dicks to not only each other but their people I wouldn't blame Lumine. We recently only seen venti's and zholing side of the story while most of the sorta bad gods were kill or trapped under the ocean. I hope we get some nice evil moments from the electro archon
there's possibility that Lumine is deceived/brainwashed into fighting against god/humanity. When you have access to battle pass for the first time, there's a short story voiced by Venti about a princess from kingdom among the heaven that got deceived to believe she is the queen of darkness.
Lumine now have the mindset of extremist/terrorist, he lump all gods and the people under the gods together as her enemy simply because one or some gods do terrible thing.

"Do I?" We all asked ourselves that question, and for a moment we disconnected from Aether, we no longer control it, I had a strange feeling, even the protagonist we control hides things from us T_T
I have a headcanon about that, well maybe a theory. When we awoke, we couldn't remember anything other than the unknown God. But as time went on, we began to piece it back together. Perhaps like the blocks we were placed in, our mind slowly fit itself back together. So once we started to remember, we researched for a long time. Much like with Kun Jun searching for "dragonfall" without knowing why, we looked for a civilization destroyed before, but the name escapes us. Only when we hear the name Khaenriah do we remember, the flashbacks of the burning nation, our sibling's words, the panic in their words.
Anyways, just my theory :3
I guess it gives a feeling of losing control and not knowing anyone in that world anymore, like how the protagonist feels?
Only started playing recently, so when Aether said he knew about it when I as the player had never seen the name before (I hadn't done any side stories, so if it's mentioned in one of those, I didn't know. Still don't know, in fact), yeah, there was a massive disconnect.

I mean, she’s barely even phased when she learns that not only is her travel companions sister probably the leader of the Abyss Order, but the Abyss Order themselves where once citizens of Khaenri’ah.
I am more surprised that people in Teyvat aren't curious about what Paimon actually is. Like nobody looks like her, I mean she's a floating kid with a crown on her head.

Aether’s expression. Lumine’s cold and rigid voice and demeanor. The voice acting overall. The music. The story. Games barely ever break my soul but this man? This hit different.
I recommend watching the Lumine as traveler version of that scene. Abyss Princess Lumine sounds cold and detached, whereas Abyss Prince Aether sounds sad and defeated.
It's really interesting to see the differences between the two.

So I noticed some things that really impacted that scene. Aether's eyelids are higher up and more puppy-like, so sad expressions are much more well-expressed by Aether, while Lumine's eyelids are slimmer(??), so she looks wayyy colder than Aether does if he was in her position (I chose Lumine). It's really interesting and nice how it affects the scene differently

Also the heavenly principles are stronger than the archons and so the sustainer of heavenly principles should be the God of Teyvat

I play as Lumine and I do agree. I do also think that they both fit very well. It works really well, especially since they are different people. Lumine looks cold and indifferent, while Aether looks like one of dem mislead Shounen protagonists
The fact that bwaap hasn't read Kaeya's story surprised me cause Kaeya is the only other human survivor of Khaenri'ah apart from Dainsleif and maybe Albedo. And his Kaeya has 2 thousand base dmg

Lumine's eng VA sounds so fierce and blaming while talking about dain, while her japanese VA is very soft and somewhat stoic, but not emotionless at all. it's a completely different experience to listen to both!
Aether's eng va sounds so fierce as well and got that older brother got evil vibe, his voice was immaculate lol and i got pissed when he cared more about why lumine was with dain, i just wished though that our leads would speak but alas we still mute lol.
I play in cn, and lumine's va actually sounds almost cold. She only softens a little at the "home" part. I found the vod of aether's cn va playing this part, and he voiced all his lines (the options) and it was heartbreaking. He sounded so sad. TAT

Probably because they discovered something with their advanced technology that they shouldn't have discovered. And how they shows Celestia in the manga kinda looked like a prison and when Vennessa ascended, she looked more terrified than excited when she entered Celestia. I think Abyss is justified for rebelling against Celestia but is eradicating human kind justifiable? Not really, no.
