Thanks for the awesome content. Here’s my story. About 9 months ago I resolved to get in better shape physically. I was 30 pounds overweight, taking meds for high blood pressure, and generally felt ill. I’m 61 years old now but 35 years ago I was very involved in competitive cycling and did quite well. Over the years since my life changed drastically with new focus on career, kids, and all the stress that comes with that. Well, fast forward to now I decided to take control of my health again and made some significant lifestyle changes 9 months ago. I changed my diet, started intermittent fasting, and began an exercise program which included running. I quickly got caught up in the “which shoe is best for you “ game and ended spending over $3,000 buying and trying different running shoes mostly due to the “information “ provided by the big shoe brands. I experienced alot of knee and hip pain over the course of trying these different shoes (some which made claims of stability and support). I managed to work through those challenges and ended up losing 30 pounds and was taken off of blood pressure meds but the discomfort continued until I ran across some articles about barefoot running shoes. I was skeptical at first because the message from “big shoe” companies was that I needed more support and cushioning. I first got a pair of Altra zero drop running shoes and slowly transitioned into that. I felt better after only two weeks. Then I discovered barefoot shoes and tried my first pair of Xero’s. The change was phenomenal and I haven’t stopped since! My running is now enjoyable and my physical health is better than it’s ever been in 30 years!! Thank you for a great product!!

Well after watching your video on what you can’t say legally about the shoes I say BS! That’s meant for the legal eagles not you! I just know that my health and well being have improved dramatically after sustained, consistent use of the xero shoes I have been wearing. Thanks and keep doing what you’re doing!!

Hello! I want to start off by saying I officially hit my one year mark in Xero shoes last week! I am absolutely loving every pair I have received from the hiking boots, trail runners, sandals, gym shoes, and regular running shoes. Simply phenomenal and has truly changed my life significantly!
This email is sent in regards to an idea/ question I suppose. I am a EMT in Ohio soon to start the Fire Academy as well. As I have begun doing some of the physical training and what not “geared up” I have had to wear work approved boots which all unfortunately have high heels and narrow toe boxes! I’ve noticed some returning back pains while having to wear these boots. I guess what I am trying to get at is this. Have you guys ever considered making some kind of taller zero drop wide toed “first responder/ military” type boot? I think it would be a phenomenal idea and wouldn’t put it past you guys for already having something in mind! I think it would be an amazing possibility that would help a lot of others in the field like myself! Maybe I overlooked a boot that would work that you guys already have and I am open to suggestions, but thank you guys for your time, hard work, and dedication to free feet! You’re truly changing lives. You guys are great! Thank you for your time and sorry for the long email! All responses are greatly appreciated.
    -Regards, Ronnie

Should you wear socks with xero shoes and, if so, should you avoid thicker merino wool socks as they act like cushioning for the feet?

Socks are entirely optional with our shoes. For colder weather boots, you can definitely wear thicker socks for that extra warmth, but if you prefer to have maximum barefoot feel, you can always forego them altogether.

Can you make a video about your zelen shoe compared to prio and hfs?

If you ever have additional questions about styles and how they may compare to one another, feel free to reach out to our Customer Happiness team at support@xeroshoes.com and they can provide more information on them or point you towards other resources and videos that we have done. That said, here are a few things that make the Zelen stand out. First, "Zelen" means "green" in Czech, and we picked that name because the Zelen's upper is made with recycled materials and the sole is treated with EcoOne to be more biodegradable (but still has our 5,000 mile sole warranty). Secondly, the Zelen has a "cage" construction, rather than the "u-throat" design of the HFS. This adds more flexibility around the toes. The engineered mesh upper in the Zelen is incredibly breathable, too. The two products share the same sole, which makes it a great road running shoe. Lastly, the Zelen is one of the favorite shoes of Born To Run author, Christopher McDougall, and his co-author of Born To Run 2, Eric Orton (they really like the HFS, but LOVE the Zelen).
