The first connection I made is the suggestion of writing things down for a month or two. It’s like when you want to lose weight, you should write down what you eat for a week, month, whatever, and do the math on the calories, fat, carbs, etc. and find the problem areas. Same exact concept! Physical health and financial health, I love it!! It’s also the same in both, you probably kinda know where the problems are but also being a very visual person, it helps me to see it. Thank you for that!

I was in tears all through this episode! Women taking control of thier finances and thier financial freedom hit me today in a way it hasn't before. I didn't even know I needed to hear this, but clearly I did! I pulled out an old bulletin board, and clip boards, and I have no idea what Kumiko even has on her wall behind her, but I am gonna create my own that represents my goals. And, not following what everyone says is the "right" way. Doing what makes sense for our own unique situation is powerful! I wrote so much throughout this episode. I now have a better understanding of where I need to be and what I need to do. I'm uncovering what I need to focus on, and taking back control. For me, success isn't about money per se, it's about having money to create a life that gives me time with the people that are most important to me. That's been an eye opener for me recently! I am so excited to learn more, and can't wait to educate myself even more to keep moving in the direction of financial freedom. Thank you beautiful souls. :)

Serenity, thank you so much for taking the time to share this. I didn’t expect to get so emotional while listening to a money advice episode. I connected to all of the points you both mentioned and I cannot wait to begin my journey. I am there. I recently had my “look on the rear view mirror and I want an amazing life, a stable and full of possibilities life for my child” moment. And she is two years old too!
I deeply understood how our own truth is the one that matters, why our decisions have to come from within, how that also becomes the drive in our actions and consistency in them. And it is so moving to listen to you confirming what it feels like and addressing this issue, this incomprehensible adult world of money and life style does not have to stay unknown and out of control. I am going to take action, I am going to do my best and I will get my finances in order and from there I know the peace of mind and self-confidence it will create, will allow me to go further and concentrate in creating my future business!
I have been looking for a while to understand and manage my personal and family finances but I never got to a point of truly knowing what I had to do, I believed there was no way if I didn’t study finances at school (and I didn’t!)!
    I can’t wait I can’t wait I can’t wait!
Thank you for sharing this episode and for making it from and for what matters. Freedom, peace of mind and so, happiness in life.
Thank you for connecting so strongly and bravo to you both!

My biggest takeaway was to get clear about where you are at financially. By getting out of the dark you can help alleviate the money anxiety and feel more in control. I love the idea Kumiko had of printing out your bank statements and highlighting like items the same color. I think that’s the action I’m going to start with! Thanks Marie and Kumiko! ❤️

Good for you that you paid off your house, because the interest you pay on any debt is ALWAYS higher than the interest you can earn on an investment. Even Dave Ramsey, the financial guru and all Christian financial advisors will tell you to pay your house off as fast as possible and overall be debt free.
In the Bible in Proverbs 22:7 it tells us: "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender."
I also paid my hime off and it is so peaceful to know that I have a for sure roof over my head.
And that story with your son eating a $1 ice-cream that you had to "finance" brought me to tears, because I know exactly what that feels like.
Thank you for being so open.

I enjoyed hearing that we sometimes need to make decisions, and that it okay to make money decisions, that make our soul more comfortable, not just what is the best way to save or spend money. Specifically, my husband and I both have been told by many that we shouldn't have paid off our house, and to keep our mortgage, and to out our money elsewhere, but for us, not having a mortgage is about the best thing we can do for our nervous system. We both have very low tolerance for debt, and no mortgage makes us feel lighter and more at ease than any other money decision we've ever made. Thank you for reminding us it isn't all about the numbers.
AND, I love that you both are good speakers and don't use "like" and "um" every other word!

My absolute favorite advice was breaking down the budget to work for each paycheck instead of monthly. Yes, I couldn’t agree more!!!
She’s the FIRST money coach I’ve heard suggesting breaking down the budget to work for each pay period instead of per month. It’s so hard for me to wrap my mind around a monthly budget when I get paid biweekly or weekly.
Making the money inflow and outflow match seems like a no-brainer to me, so I don’t know why more coaches do it. Thank you for speaking the truth.

I have been having sleepless nights for months, worrying about how to manage, and this has made me realise I can tackle everything one day at a time; one problem at a time. And that's ok.
My why? So I can be debt free, have a mortgage free home eventually, and never be a burden for my children.
And right now, I am going to start getting everything ready for my tax return! Suddenly it had become less scary!

Thank you for this video. It's good to know we can do money our own way. My husband has always had control over our finances. We would always argue about what to do about the money because he would always talk about how broke he was when I thought something was seriously needed. We had over 10 children, 14 by the way and only his income, IN CALIFORNIA!!! LOL One time septic tank stopped working and I blamed him and told him how wrong he was with finances. The septic people told us it may cost 27,000 to fix. I worried and stressed so he finally turned the finances over to me. In the meantime the septic needed pumping and got fixed for $300. I had no clue what I was doing . When I ran out of money, I looked to him for more money he said what are you talking about, I turned it all over to you.
Right then and there I found out I would rather ask him for money than him me. I then learned to embrace the way he deals with money. We've always had food on the table and a roof over our head. We have 2 homes the one in CA is paid off. to make a long story shorter I became a real estate agent and as soon as I started, I found a financial provider. Asked him to let me handle my own money and he stay out of it. He agreed and now I can invest, do what I want and help him become debt free. My goal is to bring our finances together with him being able to get what he wants. He's a very good husband he works very hard to take care of his family.
