@20:00 Lack of Empathy, Kindness & Love in a cruel society. 🙌🏼 This film has a very important message but very heart breaking, hard, intense and disturbing to watch. What a film 🎞 it definitely deserves best picture nominations at the Academy and Best Director.
I was REALLY disappointed with the media totally ignoring the impact of child abuse especially after they were soooo excited to jump on the mee too movement. I also don't think the writer is totally cognizant of just how much abuse shaped Arthur. Abuse victims rarely become joker, but they are VERY likely to be Arthur and be further abused by both bad people and "normal" people just like Arthur was over and over again. This movie had the chance to start that conversation in our society which we are still, apparently, not prepared to talk about, but the media wanted to talk about shooters when there are MILLIONS of abuse victims walking around in their own personal hell every day, and just purely from an economic standpoint, the cost is HUGE. To the victims, the personal cost is incalculable.
I think they should make a movie called Carnival (Arthur's original clown persona) that explains his childhood trauma's, build-up and backstory to the Joker. I feel like that would be a very interesting watch.. But perhaps too intense of a concept for theaters.
33:25 - don't let MCU fans see that lol all they want is fun, but he's definitely right. Those movies offer 2-3hrs of mindlessness that doesn't really leave an imprint
He just doesn't have prewritten questions on a piece of paper that he then can shoot no matter where the conversation is at that point. And he wants to use the right words, not the common phrases. I really like that.
Watching Todd Phillips try and explain the reasons behind some of the details or decisions in the script somehow makes me dislike this movie even more. It's just.. so.. bad. Arthur Fleck wears a mask and becomes himself through the Joker mask... bro. Who the hell is Arthur Fleck other than a walking target for "society bad". We literally do not get to explore any other side of character or personality trait.

I really want to know what the “bathtub” scene that they couldn’t include was
Me too. We all need extra scenes on dvd. I'm not even asking for directors cut, just raw scenes with Joaquins improvisation
Very frustrating that he didnt go into detail :/
@Trinity i do think it might be erotic + crashing of the buthtub
@@thebatman4279 wow, great username 🤣
@Trinity I mean Joaquin loves crushing toilets and sinks 😁 maybe he did it again. But why insane? Maybe he cut himself
Awww he’s so nervous. :(
14:01 - about the cutted scenes and "Bathtub" scene. God I wish to know what is this scene was about....

Joaquin was going for the American Werewolf In London effect in this movie.
you can hear how nervous this dude is.
I want to see like he is rising up into a criminal mastermind and then his Full joker Transformationen and that he then Meet batman
thank god Todd Phillips can give great answers to questions that makes no sense
What question made no sense? That's an interviewer who thinks in his own way and tries to bring that across. I highly appreciate that.
it's a pain to watch the interviewer try to formulate his words. great interview otherwise.
