- Former RAW Chief Dulat has co-authored a book with Former ISI Chief General Durrani in a series of conversations mediated by journalist Aditya Sinha. In this wide ranging interview with Barkha Dutt Dulat suggests the Pakistan Army Chief should be invited to India. "Roll out the Red Carpet. My gut is he will come. Let's test his intent."
Im a Pakistani,and I really respect AS Dullat.Sir AS Dullat is a humble and a wise man ,and India is lucky to have people like him.

Dear Noeim A,S,Dullat is not General, he is n Ex IPS officer ie Indian Police Service , Army Generals are not part of RAW as is in the ISI.

Peace is the only way forward for both countries. If two spy chiefs have come to this conclusion then the leaders on both countries shouls realize that. World does not give a rat a$$ to what we think our real issues are. Let Kashmiri decide their fate and the leaders in both countries should focus on improving the lives of common people.

Pak forex reserve drained to 10billion dollar (u have to loan from China to avoid Balance of payment crisis) and u people blame FATF and USA. Dulat and Dutt are Indians, Kashmir is a part of India, so naturally they care for Kashmir.
If all the countries of the subcontinent including, nepal, bhutan & srilanka agree a model like Canada giving all the provinces enough autonomy then whats the harm. Power needs to be decentralised at possible lower level with just the power the centre need to keep them together, just like something offered by cabinet mission during British raj. But unfortunately that was initially accepted by Jinnah but scuttled by Nehru by his famous speech which is well documented in history. Nehru & Ghandi always wanted a strong centre like Russian model, which was a very short sided idea considering the composition of India itself even today.
However, everyone including the spymasters may agree for unification on this basis, but beleive me the politicians of these countries incl some vested interest will never agree with this.
Talk talk and talk ,,,,,,, If required, even with Bajwa !!!!!!!!! General Daulat is highly optimistic and romantic on this point. There’s no need to talk with the Army Chief of a ROGUE STATE where ostensibly the PM is the head of the government but in reality the strings are pulled by the Army. Enmity with India is the antibiotic for this rogue army whenever the disease of justifying their disproportionately large size and indulgence in economic activities spreads.
India can talk with a General like Musharraf or Ayub Khan or Ziaul Haq in his capacity as the head of this rogue country.

Too many presumptions. Dulat sab thinks inviting Pak general could provide a solution.Though it remains the most powerful even today, The Pak Army of today does not enjoy the same reputation and immunities it enjoyed in the past.The General agreeing to visit is itself preposterous and all hell will break out if he does. Army is being questioned as never before. Sugesting a red carpet welcome to Bajwa in India, is a stupid thing, as India would then be undermining Democracy in Pakistan,by giving importance to a General, as also it is proved beyond any doubt that a section of Pak army is a rogue army and hydra headed with too many lier Generals. Unless Pak army returns to barracks and confine itself to its legitimate role, nothing will work.Pakistan today is a total mess and no body including US , China, and India know how to handle the situation. Nawaz still could have managed, but sidelining him has complicated situation so much that no solution seems possible except wait for the time to see how things shape up!

RF aikbal I am not talking about life, I was talking about nation and compromising about it's sovereignty and territorial integrity is impossible. Can't be done and won't be tolerated ever.. and that too for a country which do not matter much except it's terrorism activities.
You may get some inner satisfaction by insulting your neighbor but it won't change the fact that Kashmir is a disputed territory and UN has acknowledge that. I respect your hardline but we have seen countries and super powers getting destroyed due to their own stubborness. Talk is the only way forward and peace is the only way. Like it or not. Now, do not reply with an insult because we need to grow up and realize that what has happened in the last 70 years has not benefited both countries.

But if it was working why did they (Modi, Doval) start class2 diplomacy already even before the isolation would have given some concessions. But there is no concession and even before June 's outcome of FATF on Pakistan, this govt has moved for class 2 diplomacy. I suppose there must be a pressure on Indian govt by its own political class and presumably from abroad(some world leaders and not just, Americans).
