The gentleman after 1:33:30 says Indians have a problem dealing with "enemies". He is right, but identies the problem wrongly. Our problem i that we don't know how to deal with things dispassionately. He is allowing his emotions to cloud his judgement. Perhaps, the younger generation of Indians will be more forthright in formulating policy going forward. The older generation is hopeless and naive.

Jyoti Malhotra manages to surprise me yet again how dumb an individual can be and yet be a journalist. Aarti Tikoo stood out as the voice of making any sort of sense in this. A horrible concept for a book written by a very visibly incompetent Mr Dulat who couldn't defend any claim without being personal, and even then failed to bring down credibility of whoever he attacked, infact did the opposite. What a shame that such books are even published whereas brilliant commentaries still find it hard to get a publisher.

Some of these guys are looking for relevance. What great achievements are there to their credit will always be a mystery. Such books and events are a necessary activity for them in their desperate attempt to stay in the limelight.
Please note that in Pakistan or elsewhere, like the US or France or UK, the external intelligence agencies are headed by armed forces officers and not police officers, like in India. IPS officers are ensconed in the IB and RAW with the approval and total support of the politicians as they feel that the armed forces should be kept at arm's length from these critical organizations. Only pliable IPS or IAS officers will suit the purpose of the politicians. It's a symbiotic existence, with each looking after the other.
There's no hope for our agencies getting anywhere near the eminence or performance of the CIA or even the ISI of Pakistan. They have principles to follow strictly, whatever they might be. But here it's more to do with power, privilege, perks, closeness to politicians etc.
