When we were going through a very rough patch in our life, when we had to face problems left, right and center, we were looking for some way of coming out of them all. Being a south Indian, one of the obvious ways is to look out for astrological solutions. So of my relatives suggested that we seek the help of Nadi. I initially didn’t believe in it. Thought that it is all cheating, once we go there, they ask some questions and based on the answers that we give, they concocte some thing and tell us as predictions. But then the situation that we were in, forced me to seek that option too. So we went to a place in my native place, when we were visiting our native place during holidays. They asked me to give my thumb impression and went inside, brought a bundle of palm leaves. That person (Shanmugam) told me that at the same time of my birth, many would have been born and therefore, we need to look for the particular leaf which pertains to me and started reading the leaves one by one. He kept asking me whether the leaf matches my life happenings. I kept saying No and it went on for almost 3 bundles. In 3 bundle, one leaf matched with my life. At that point in time, Shanmugam asked me whether I have my horoscope, for which I said yes. He then started reading the planetary positions of my horoscope from the matched leaf and asked me to verify. Since I know a little of astrology, I verified it on my own, without showing it to him. To my astonishment, I found every planet position matching, including the Tamil year, Tamil month and Tamil calendar day. If you about horoscope, for making a proper horoscope, one has to know the exact year, time up to minutes and the location of birth. It was impossible to any one to make a chart on the spot with out this information, even using a computer. Then he started reading about my present life situation, my father, mother name, how many brothers / sisters, whether they were married, whether I was married, what my wife is educated or not, works or not, how many children I have, what profession I am in and in what position (managerial) I am working, where I am working (away from native place) etc. He read out my future course of life also, which has come true so far in these 15 years. At that time, I was told that I will be blessed with a son, which happened. Even though some pariharams were told to me, to come out of all the bad situations, I still didn’t completely believe it and left my native without performing them. Just storing away the written Naadi in my native place and completely forgetting about it. But now and then I used to wonder about it. Next phase of it came only after 7 or 8 years (I think in 2003).
