Deadliest Journeys - China : The dizzy valley of the forgotten

  • The Duong valley road is the only means of access between China, Burma and Tibet. A road that is paved over the first thirty kilometres, but which quickly turns into an extremely perilous track. It’s considered the most dangerous road in China. Landslides, difficult passages where it’s impossible for vehicles to pass, mud, tunnels that are too narrow, there’s no respite for drivers. The road demands the highest concentration. The cliffs are vertiginous. The least turn of the wheel can be fatal. And when the threat isn’t coming from below, it may come from the rock walls. On this track, you cannot commit any errors. We take the road aboard an overloaded collective taxi. At the wheel is Tcheng. He’s been driving this road once a week for six years. In the taxi, we find Fong who has to get back to his remote village in the mountains. Together, they will take more than seven hours to cover less than a hundred kilometres. Troubles begin right from the start of the journey. The tunnel is too narrow. The passengers have to get out of the vehicle to widen the walls at the risk of bringing it all down. During this adventure we meet woodcutters, children who sell coal, Tibetan monks and Chinese adventurers seeking their fortunes This road may be the one that leads to El Dorado, the El Dorado of the lead and tin mines. -

Yea he my favorite commentary guy. Doing a good job man. I like the calmness of people expressed, that diffrent here, and the British accent in pronunciation but not over done as the focus return to the speaker not the subject. And I love how deep the plot is he working with 3-4 maybe 5 people lives along the route a in-depth into their lives hardships, hopes, dreams. Like the kid that working hard , but learning and talks like a man already .
    This is real life.

I forgot to say - the Chinese are superb miners. Many of the underground mines in the gold rush country of California were dug by Chinese miners.

, 10 years maybe means nothing to you guys ,,,, but to China , Even one year means a lot . let me put in this way , It is easy for China to make another 3 Africas in term of GDP within fucking 10 yeas ,
In term of infrastructure. , compared with China ,USA is a inferior place , ,China;s infrastructure is the best .

Northern India has very similar roads. I was in Rishikesh, scheduled to go up to a Temple in the mountains the next day, on one of them. i was wondering about that, they do say villagers need to check the equipment also they say extra 1/2hrs that if would take the bridge - Getting someone free in the village, 10mins getting saddles up 10 mins, 3 mins zip line, 7min getting free.... could be 30mins you can't just get there and and you are teleported. So crossing a huge river even with a zipline could take 30mins without a doubt.
