  • Berth 9 on the Daiwan Dolphin, Loading Logs, using the ships cranes. Had a good night here, straight forward with no real problems. Barry in the digger doing his thing.
    Managed to finish early which was nice, back tomorrow but up at Berth 1 for Kiwi Fruit.

      🤣😂 Thats one way of putting it, but yes it has to be a team work operation, up to 35 tonnes comming in at any one time. Comunication is a must. Thanks for the comment

    Very nice video. Any idea what the final destination of the cargo is and what's to be done with all that wood when it gets there?

      I believe it was China and have no idea what they do with it sorry. Probably make pre packed housing frames and send them back for us to buy 😂

      Claw heaps better and safer. It’s all about reducing the staff on the ground thou at the end of the day

      Yes our stevedores operate all the cranes ships and mobile 🤙

    Is this method faster than using the grapples?

      All depends, it’s a much safer way with less staff around you. If we all work as a team then about the same

    Amazing! How do they unload it at the destination?

      I believe the unloading is done by a bunk being dropped onboard and loaded by a digger then lifted by the crane to the wharf then onto trucks. I’ve also seen ship cranes with a big heavy grab digging logs off and dropping on the wharf

      Its called the Crangston, hard wearing and reliable

      Anything from 36,000 to 44,000 tonnes on a ship. 48,000 tops I think on certain ships. All the trees are re planted and all are sustained .

      @@александрелохин-с5з Хорошо имеет смысл сейчас. Мы загружаем суда грузоподъемностью от 40 000 до 62 000 тонн бревен. Я работаю в постоянную ночную смену, поэтому съемки идут ночью. Надеюсь, это поможет.

      Acceptable comment but it’s an easy fix if the background sounds are not to your taste. As you say turn the volume down and use what suits your taste. Can’t please everyone now can I 😂
