    That was one of my race bikes. It rewarded aggression! Don't slow down, cause it won't handle well.
    But Man, when you were going, your friends could not catch you and by the time they didn't know which way I went, they did not know where the truck was either! Guess they just rode forever.

    I had a 1991 300 EGS. Was a great bike with appalling brakes. Front brake did very little, and rear brake would stop a semi trailer. Great to see the old girl in action 👍

      from what i came to find the 90's were not a good time for bike's the mid 80's was a good time but then they just went down hill

    • @JohnHowerton137
      @JohnHowerton137 2 года назад

      @@matthewchurch1320 lot of good innovation in the 90’s, especially by the late 90s. Removable subframes, thinner chassis, flatter seats, powervalves that actually worked. Hell, the Japanese bikes are still mostly using those 90’s designs and charging 4x the money for them 🤣 By about 93 we started to see some really pretty good bikes. The 93+ Honda, Yamaha and Kawis were all pretty good. Suzuki’s somewhat decent by 96. Even the KTM base power plant was pretty legit by then, just unrefined. McGrath rode the 93 chassis his whole time with Honda. That Honda 125 engine was huge in carting too.

      You are right! I bought some vintage bikes to try out so I could go race the Vintage Cup at the ISDE. Spent an entire season racing different vintage bikes against modern bikes. I had a favorite, but even with Race Tech gold valves the suspension was lacking, and the air cooled engine didn't hold up as well. They need more attention, that's for sure. I learned the hard way that the bike needs to be torn down and inspected at minimum after each 100 mile race. New bikes spoil us.

    For the comment about it being 92 graphics you are correct. But the bike itself is his Dad’s 91 championship bike. At the last few rounds of the 91 series the 92 bikes were available so KTM had Jeff run the 92 graphics. They actually wanted him to ride the 92 bike but he didn’t want to run the new bike so compromised and made his 91 look like the 92’s. Bike is stripped down right now, frame powder coated, need to get the suspension serviced and get a cylinder and piston and get er ready for the last second call to race it again.

    2 strokes 'n gaskets 😑😒...go to your local gasket and fastener company. Get 1/16" copper sheet. Cut a match to your o.e.m. gasket from the copper. Lap it to the thickness you want (or o.e.m. thickness.) Heat it to cherry red and drop it in cold water. Wipe it off and install it. Go ride! Works on head AND base gasket applications and Will Not Fail ! Now You Know 😉
