This is actually a nice attention to detail with Gordon's playermodel being in a scientist uniform and not having the HEV suit since your supposed to get it from the locker room before heading to the test chamber.
@@jazdajazda2191 yeah because valve didn't intend on anyone really seeing gordon ingame so that coupled with the fact that the only time gordon isn't in his hev suit in half life 1 (from a storywise perspective) is at the start of the game until you equip it in the locker room and go on your way to the test chamber so there really was no need for valve to spend more time working on an entirely separate playermodel for the first brief section of the game that would not be used for any other purpose than that as a matter a fact i think the only reason why gordons model is actually there in the singleplayer is probably only for placeholder purposes and also because the game also contained the multiplayer section in the same program and i believe thats the same reasons we have a grey placeholder model in half life 2 because there was no need to make a playermodel for the player when they probably wouldn't see it and especially because the base game and deathmatch aren't in the same program like half life 1 is with it's multiplayer so there wasn't even any need to have a playermodel imported into the game so they just put the grey placeholder in to cut time and effort
You cannot actually get weapons without a HEV suit (in the vanilla game) so I guess Valve felt the need to add the HEVved Gordon model to differentiate people with and without HEV in multiplayer... or they did what they must, because they could
non-hev gordon model appear only in blueshift. in vanilla game you've got only one gordon model and its gordon in HEV. no matter if you got HEV or not.
The mirror wasn't even in the original half life, it was just a shelf of toilet paper

I'm pretty sure he was originaly wearing the HEV suit even before he equipped it. This is a super cool detail of the RT mod though

you can use commands in the unmodded half life to see that he was always wearing the suit

in the original game gordons playermodel is ALWAYS him in an hev suit. in hl1 rtx it changes that.
Gordon's about to learn tiktok 💀
lmao
oh god no

What? So he's not naked in the beginning of the game? 🤯🤯
Now you just gave me a mental image of a naked Gordon Freeman wearing only the ridiculous tie, before getting into the HEV suit.

nice bait OP, but mirrors do NOT reflect in Half-Life1 without mods!
but that feature is a little bit new, not from 24 years ago (gordon changing bodysuit)
Nice troll but I actually tried to do this
And what did you come to?
Check the description please
It's real tho lmfao
its the rtx mod
@Soly in the 1990s they didn't have mirrors, therefore this isn't real in the og game, at least.
i've never seen a mirror but i remember i was trying to see who's in the bathroom
He cut the ponytail!
unfortunately that is a new feature in RTX. The old player model didnt even have proper animations.
Nah, wrote a whole ass essay on this mod and the comment gets deleted? Cmon man..
There's not scientist Gordon model in vanilla hl, only hev model.
blue shift had one
Wish original Half-Life also has this.
Gordon Freeman is a cool dude. Yes.
And I thought the fucking shutdown procedure was the joke 😢
Since when did this room have a working mirror?
So in this version, he's wearing one of those ridiculous ties!
there wasn't a mirror 24 years ago
No,nothing in goldsource would allow you to do that.
It's a mod that adds ray tracing. The video is about Gordon, not the mirror :)

If this RT mod works in multiplayer, can you show it? I will be grateful for the answer!
Hello, Gordon!
Dont think this was in the original one from 24 years ago...
This can't possibly be legit. Probably a mod or something
I wonder where his glasses are gone
I discovered this video after 10 years.
blud played a bit too much half life
I really wish half life 2 also hade this, it would've been seen Gorden.
You mean the half life logo on suit?
Can't wait for youtubers to milk this new thing dry
Bro never played the PS2 port with multiplayer
Did this myself in the mod. While doing a benchmark. Cool stuff

you learned how to download a mod after 24 years?
:) Such a nice detail.

I was wondering why you name and profile were so familair and its because its from csgo
