- Get ready for a long one. Installing Clip-ons is not hard, but it's also not easy. Fitment can become a big issue. It will take time and most likely a little imagination to get everything to work properly, but the end result is usually a more comfortable ride and tailored to you driving position.

It looks really good, even though it's been a long time, I wonder how you installed the brake oil tank originally, it connects to the clip-on
I used a universal mount that you can bend to shape where you want it. I will try to find the manufacture
Thanks
Whats up, Nick Santo. it's a beautifully amusing video. thanks. :)
Just put a set of these on my 22 zx10r, was a pain in the ass to get the reservoir to clear. I bought a driven bracket and had to bend it so that the res is lower and next to the clipon. The issue with this setup is that if you adjust them to a similar width as the oem bars these will be taller sure but also further away from you (the bars mount in front of the tree) So a more agressive rearward setup is needed to reap the rewards. I should have gone with helibars instead, same 0 degree angle but a similar position to oem .
yeah, it's very time consuming to get everything to line up just right, but once you do get it set up, man is it way more comfortable. i love being able to fully adjust the bars as well to really fit my riding style. congrats on your upgrade!
@@NickSanto I actually got the helibar setup now, same 0 degree angle but about an inch closer to me than the Vortex. As good as can be, they even include a bracket that is bolted to a pretapped hole similar to oem.
how you lowered the front?the lower clamp have fitted right to the fork?i think its becoming thinner and cannot clamp right.
the front forks are tapered, but you have a good couple inches to work with. just need to loosen bars, top & bottom clamp with the front supported and you can raise the forks up through the clamps. I lowered the front about 1" to match the rear.
Are these more comfortable than stock?
for me they are 100%
Hey just installed a set of
Helibars on my Gen 5 and I’m having a issue with the throttle cable housing hitting the inside of the fairing .
I adjusted the clip ons further back and I have clearance now but they are really close to the tank when I turn to full lock position.
I sent you an email back. Really best thing I can say is keep adjusting. It will take some time to get them just right.
Thank you man I finally got it perfect 👌
