You can give every slowMo shot its original speed and the total runtime wouldn't even reduce 5 minutes. We really need to stop complaint about this in every ZackSnyder film...
I think the complaint, for me at least, is that the slow motion moments add nothing to the actually impact of the film.
@@ReelJames I think that's nearly everyone's complaint. It does actually become distracting and removes you from the being absorbed into the movie. Of course the movie itself is kind of rubbish and has many issues besides the slow-mo.
ZackSnyder has been using as a signature style the same type and amount of SlowMotion in his movies since 300 18 years ago, yet people watch every one of his movies and expect him to do something different just because they feel anxious.
Make no sense.
Based in IGN, Snyder's more acclaimed film was 300, but I'm pretty sure that if that film would have been release today, people would have been complaining same way they're doing with RebelMoon...
RebelMoon is far from perfect, but people have lost their analysis skills, and now the only think they say to trash Snyder is: "too much slowmotion...
@@fabianGrid slow motion is far from the only complaint people have about RM. The only time people "complain" about slow motion is how he is using it. It serves no purpose when you do slow motion and it drags out the scene when it's people planting rice in a field. It's stupid.
If you overuse it it loses its impact. Nobody complained about it in the equally awful zombie movie that he made for Netflix. Instead they complained about how terrible the movie was.
I like Zach Snyder but I can put aside my admiration of his previous work and see his new stuff isn't good. The JL Snyder cut was ok and has some great stuff in it. However as soon as Netflix gave him complete control he lost his mind. He shouldn't be a director, writer, and cinematographer. He needs someone to keep him in line for his own sake. That's my opinion at least.
Well Magnificent Seven was based on Seven samurai anyway I loved Rebel moon 2
Me too! This movie was epic!
So Snyder pitched a Star Wars movie to Disney & Lucasfilm and they rejected it. Then WB & Whedon ruined his JL & his DCEU. So his master revenge plan is to make his own Star Wars/Firefly ripoff at Netflix. Unfortunately, his revenge plan has spectacularly failed in every way.
Watching both Rebel Moon movies made me appreciate the recent Star Wars content even more. Plus, Firefly is still spectacular even to this day.
🤣🤣 this man said that 40 minutes exposition dump that litteraly started something like “i think we should all go around and say why we do what we do. I will start” was natural. I dont have anything to add to that lol
The Rebel Moon franchise is gonna be the Monsterverse but very few supporters.
I feel like Netflix might scale back on some of Rebel Moons future projects
@@LeeSixTwenty Just like Bright. Remember how that was supposed to be a franchise?
@@fulcrum6760 Really? Didn't know that. I knew After Earth was supposed to be a franchise.
@@LeeSixTwenty Yeah it was. There was other movies planned and Netflix rode on the Will Smith Oscars incident and canned it. The only thing we got was Bright: Samurai Soul in 2021 and Bright came out in 2016. 6 years. Let that sink in, 6 years.
This also reminded me of Battle Beyond the Stars, which did M7 in space first
3 and a half? Really? Well, to each his own.
Out of 5?
“To each his own”
Obviously this is a review. Review = personal opinion…
Yea@@rebelmoon9059
Is the Fuqua adaptation more unique than the older versions? Why is that specifically mentioned?
This movie is better than dune pt1 and 2 for me, I love rebel moon pt2 2 so much it's 9/10 for me, its a beautiful movie. Watched it with my family
LMAO. U must be 4 years old
You had a lot of points I didn't see. May have to give it another go in while. Awesome thoughts dude.
With all the praises, I was expecting at least a 4. Part 1 was fun to watch and good looking, but emotionless and soulless. This sounds better, but we will see…
Excellent
This was a good movie. Was worth watching on easy afternoon. Basic storyline and actions but kept me watching. 2 thumbs up
It was a long time since I've seen a production giving me so much fun, I really needed something like Rebel Moon to happen ^^
I couldn't get through the first 20 min of the first movie. It literally gave me a headache. The background that is constantly out of focus and the foreground in crisp 4k is nauseating to look at. I will skip this one and the rest of the first one
Predictable, but fun. One hopes the extended cuts add to the depth of the story.
Like Kurosawa’s seven samurai…?
It's hard to believe a "film critic" who hasn't seen Seven Samurai and the original "Magnificent Seven".
Exactly, but M7 is more of a current reference that most will understand. Especially younger gens...
Hey Chris, sounds like a decent popcorn film. Not berating that at all. I love popcorn films but I have to be in the right mood.
I just finished watching Anna on Netflix and felt the same way. I could shut my brain off and just enjoy it.
Good you liked it.
This is an honest review, no nitpicking just stated what works and what did not.
You got a sub in me.
Nice Boondock St. Reference
I'll be checking this out but not in a rush. Chris, we need a munchies review!
Yes, I'm well overdue!!
I'm waiting for the directors cut before I wath any of these
If the story/writing doesn't drastically change, doubt directors cut would be better
@@e3vL1anime characters 😂😂😂
@@rebelmoon9059 yeah some characters do act like it at times. I say it's worse due to the bad monologue one liners
Keep in mind this movie fundamentally is about grain at the end of the day. 😂😂😂
I feel like the Mandalorian is a space western and I love it! Maybe all Westerns should have adorable little baby Yodas!
Space westerns you say Chris. Firefly. There can only be one. ;)
Outlaw Star. The much better anime that Firefly ripped off.
@@rensin2 must check that one out, cheers!
Thanks
Thank you so much!!
looks dope
I give it a 4 and a half out of 5
Enjoyed part 1 and Excited for Rebel Moon part 2
I love how all farm land is destroyed. Now livelihood is destroyed. This film is Bugs Live plot hilarious
Snyder and slow-mo is like Michael Bay and explosions, neither of em understand that it works best if used in a right amount instead of all the time..
They did went to the same film school soooo...
It does look fucking cool during actual action scenes.
Boondock Saints.
Ripoff Moon-The scabies giver is another trash bin vehicle from Zackie boy. No wonder Netflix didn't promote this clunker after the awful reactions to the first film. This film is as dead as Dillinger.😂😂😂😂😂. To quote Admiral Akbar, "Its a TRAP"!😂😂😂😂😂
I must have watched a different movie
Zack Snyder has created good Visuals👍 but he is not a good storyteller👎 . Please Zack don't use slow motion again please 🙏.
this does not need a review or any explanation, it was lazy crap with no story and dropped any pretense to being a cheap rip off, they even had light sabers.
Some cool visual but from a entertainment and storytelling aspect it was ass.
SLO MO ! 😂😂😂😂
I was laughing during slow mo that was not action fight scenes
An hour of this movie was just slow-mo footage of wheat being harvested 🎥🌾🤦🏾 this is Snyder’s worst film 👎
Snyders movies can be a little dark for the cry babies
While movie was mildly entertaining in a cheap way it was nowhere near a good movie. I disappointed to see a straight favorable review here. Maybe you shouldn't be a critic who is easy to please. It is not an attractive attribute for those who would follow your channel seriously.
Dude u need to stop this movie was horrible
...those movies are just bad... 👎🏻...
The dialog is so bad.
@@katiefowler5170 ...everything...
& it’s worse than the 1st& that was BAD
Rebel moon part 1 and Army of the dead were some of the worst movies I've ever seen now I am sceptical to watch anything from Zack
Agreed. Snyder is great with visuals but tragically clueless when it comes to writing plot and dialogue. I wish he worked with actual writers because only then would the movies be good.
Okay now move on and never watch back enjoy your life and let us enjoy Snyder movies
I agree. That zombie movie was cringey. I like Snyder btw. The Snyder cut of jl is one of my favorite movies!
Army Of The Dead literally ripped off COD Zombies with its lore implications that involve time loop, aliens and robot zombies.
@@rebelmoon9059why you so triggered ? No one told you that you couldn’t enjoy Zack Snyders movies
Stupid film 6/10
Do Late Night with the Devil, it’s out!!!
I did a couple of weeks ago 😁
Nice job with this review, Chris! You liked it a bit more than I did, because I couldn’t stand this film. I found it worse than Part One. 🫢
Thanks, James! I totally get that! But c'mon, how can you not enjoy slow-mo wheat threshing and harvesting of grain amidst dramatic score?? This is the best farming movie of the decade!! 😂🤣😴
Chris is always kind. I ❤ that about his reviews.
