The only thing I wish I knew is not TO RUSH THE STORY QUESTS because the moment you finish the last main quest you will feel that something is missing and you will not have the motivation to keep going with side quests. So here is a tip: every time you do one main quest, do at least three side quests. Just make your journey longer, collect the best set, fight thoundergos, just don't finish the story too early.
i totally agree.. i am traveling the whole map .. big open world. Lots of challenges. The story is cool. Probably make a movie about it, but there is a lot more to do here than just bum rush to finish the game story.

Very good advice. that's exactly how I play all of my games. it's also the best way to build up your character as far as ability, skills, weapons, etc. In some cases I try to do as much of the side quest as possible before continuing the story. It's the best way to stretch out a game and extend the fun 👍👍
Tip #1: Sit in one area next to a river and a forest and hunt all the animals you can find until you upgrade most of your satchels. It could take you a few hours. Tip #2: Touch as many campfires as you can, as a manner of fact.. run passed enemies and reach campfires as quickly as possible. Then you can fast travel back easily. Tip #3:Find a good exp farming spot. Your lance knocks them down and finish them off with a critical. This is probably the easiest way to kill anything.. the bow kinda sucks in the beginning of the game. Don't fight on your way to your objective because if you die you have to start from the last campfire. So either gain exp, farm resources or run to objectives. Don't mix these 3. Tip #4: You can actually roll faster than you run. Use it to cover distance faster.. Tip #5: Buy one weapon type of each because you will run out of ammo quickly. By having many weapons, you can carry different kinds of ammo. Visit vendors and see which resources you need to craft the best weapon. However, until midgame your lance melee weapon will be the strongest. Tip#6 The best way to fight any monster is to hit them and roll behind them. The robot animals have a really hardtime fighting in a circle. For example a sabertooth tiger can easily be defeated by rolling into him and going behind. He will leap forward. You can pretty much take down any monster by rolling and sticking to that booty making them pretty much useless. Tip 7# Buy maps, take free sample boxes from vendors and discover as much of the map as you can as quickly as possible. Just go in one direct and touch all the campfires. After your map is explored and filled with info you can start planning more ambitious things like Weaver armor, builts... farming spots.. I mean its sound strange, but literally take an hour of your time to go into various directions as much as you can. If you do this, then the main game becomes a breeze because you can fast travel everywhere. Conclusion: Spend time farming resources to upgrade, spend time getting exp at farming spots, and spend time exploring the map before even starting the main game.
Stealth actually not that good in this game (And all games). In all games pro gamers and meta builds are always the DPS (Damage per second) tank and damage are OP in ALL GAMES
Shady Triceratops Yeah that’s the easiest way honestly. You don’t need to be stealthy for animals in this game. And since you’re faster than all of them you can chase them and just wack at them. And it’s not like you have to kill them a certain way or you’ll damage the meat like in RDR2. It doesn’t matter how you kill them. Ima just chase them and wack them.

I couldn't agree more that they should have an option to sell a bunch of items at once that are only used for "Selling For Metal Shards." I hoard a lot of resources and fill up my capacity fast. I wish it was faster to free up space.
For me I literally picked up and scanned and saved or hoarded everything and killed every animal so that by the time the crafting tutorial came up I had almost full stock of everything and could upgrade all my carrying caps at least 2 levels. Another tip is if you have the frozen wilds do that region as soon as you are level 35 to 40. As you get 3 new weapons 3 better bows of each type and 3 better armor options as well as banuk chieftain armor from main quest. Do the frozen wilds before the final fight though it’s not needed it just helps and makes more sense. I did it after my first play through as it was such a hard area.

@@Hallo_20 Animals are wherever there is vegetation. I just go there and use focus and I find everything I need, rabbits, foxes, boars, turkeys, all in the same spot, you just have to move around a bit

The first time I played the game I went through the entire main plot and the dlc without a rope caster. I found out about it the second time a played the game I got it at the very end and didn’t use it very much. Now I’m playing the third time through (yes I’m obsessed but that’s not the point lol) I literally don’t ever do a battle without the trip-caster and the rope caster. I wish I had known about it earlier.
Taking control of robots is something important. While on one or one near you, if threaten they will protect you. Other like watcher you can override them and they will attach any threats in your area. I usual attack from the far, some where I can duck and hide. I weaken the threat, hide then it forgets about me. Then I pop up and use a weapon again to weaken them and hide from their counter attacks. Keep doing that until it's kill. Love riding the robots and I do stalker attacks as well.

Use it to your advantage. 2) The game does tell you when you cannot craft a certain capacity by showing a shaded icon in the menu before you select it 3) The third tier for animal parts actually drops skins or animal talismans 4) Machine cores are also something you can sell that has no crafting or trading capabilty 5) Meat is used to craft potions, trade for items or selling for shards 6) Ancient vessels are a special item that can be traded in Meridian for rewards once a set is complete 7) There is a legend of all elemental effects when you are in the "Inventory" portion of the menu. Look to the far right
To respawn animals, you just have to run away a pretty short distance. Also best places to gobble XP is the hunting grounds. They give you great, predictable prey and a quick respawn cycle plus 10K XP for each of the three trials. There is also a trader there where you can dump junk for shards.
It does tell you that you are now able to craft upgrades and it comes up in the left hand corner of the screen, just you have to see it when it comes up. This is in the HUD for the game when you are normally playing it.
Watched a couple videos like this looking for beginners tips. Wish one of them had mentioned the improved spear side quest right at the start of the game, which I missed. Don't miss out the side quest 'In her Mother's steps' for an improved blue spear then there is another improvement in the DLC where you can add modifications. I had the starter spear right up to level 35.
You're confusing the blue spear Sylens gives you with the "+1 damage" you get from that very early side quest. More to the point might be the Frozen Wilds side quest "A Secret Shared" that gives you modification slots for your spear, which you can get pretty early on if you know what you're doing.
You could have summed up your video with a single statement, "I wish it explained everything to where I did not have to figure anything out for myself".
Haven't seen the whole video might delete this. But with crafting a in shops you can press square to create a job. For machine parts the job will create an errand that leads you to machine sites where you can find those machines.. for crafting jobs it doesn't tell you where to find those pelts.. but it creates an errand quest which is still handy to keep track
most of the stuff you mentioned is taught by the game very early on...the game do tell you that you can scan and tag enemy, there is main mission near tallneck to teach you override tallneck and other stuff too. but yea they are good tips

The clicking to find out what materials you need isn't that bad. You can make a job out of it and when you have said job active, it will show you what you need. If the upgrades are greyed out, then you don't have the resources necessary yet.
Bro stealth is sick... The amount of times stealth games in my life has helped me hide from teachers (or other people who I shall not name) back in the day xD It's Madness the things I've done. But without stealth games I wouldn't of knew how to hide or get away ;)
I just started playing this game and I love it. I just wish the game would explain more how everything works like selling resources. I had to Google what I could sell so I wouldn't sell the wrong things😂 Also unlocking the perk where you can carry more resources is a MUST because then it will be full ALL of the time which can get very annoying. And also what the symbols mean like the fire, ice, etc. It took me a while to figure out what it all meant when I first started. Also, they should let your health be able to regenerate by itself as long as you have enough plants or whatever. It gets annoying haveing to push up on the D pad while you are trying to fight a machine. I don't understand why they have the plants for health but also potions. It should have just been 1 or the other. What else is annoying is having to scroll thru all of your potions and stuff to find what you need while fighting a machine.
I've finished the game 4 times on easy medium hard and ultra hard and a huge thing I wish I knew was how powerful pulling down the Spectre thing is and hitting it with my spear it was crazy how fast it kills them
I set my staring difficulty to the hardest level. Never knew that shadow series weapon is way cheaper on maybe lower difficulty. Prices on the hardest level is ranging from 4000-7000 shards
its fooling yourself but you can play the game on ultra hard and change back to easy to buy the weapons and stuff for cheaper prices and then change back to ultra hard afterwards. NOTE: changing difficulties during NEW GAME + mode is not possible when playing on Ultra hard.
I wish when you cleared a machine site that they don't respawn like the corrupted zones only because 1. It gives you something to do after to finish the game and 2. It makes traveling over long distances easier but those are just my thoughts
Very funny that the opening complaint about "how do I know what I need to upgrade and why won't it tell me when I can" could be solved by pressing square to make an errand for it... which it says at the bottom right of the screen.

The animal meat is worthless?! It’s only used to make health potions and fast travel kits. If playing on harder difficulty settings you will end up needing to make health potions in field at some point and they use a LOT of meat. Actually that’s one of few complaints about this game is gotta always be on lookout for animals to kill so have a stack of each kind of meat - well cept tiny meat hahahah
my bigest complaint is the menu system and haveing to get extra resouces to get the good stuff not makeing clear what you can sell and what you need to buy stuff, i am doing all the side stuff, i like most of it and its boosts my XP but the grinding for extra stuff is a pain. but the world is beautiful and spectacular and the robots are fun to fight so i am willing to forgive them but i hope its going to be rectified with HFW.
the game makes it very clear what you need to buy stuff and what to sell. you can sell everything except wood. when crafting or buying stuff it always shows the icons of whats needed. 9/10 times its just metal shards.
I appreciate the feedback but can you explain your reasoning behind 5 minutes? I have been trying to make my videos as short as possible without sacrificing quality or content. This one I felt needed to be a little longer in order to be thorough.
Pimperville2 Gaming It wasn't until 3 minutes into the video that you killed your first wild life. Before that you killed two Long Horns. I'm just saying, get to the point. Attention spans are short. There is no need to show us how you kill two Long Horns when your first piece of advice is about hunting wildlife. Secondly, tell your viewers in the intro what you're going to be talking about. If your video consists of 5 essential pieces of advice, then list them in the first 10 seconds of the video so viewers can decide whether they want to watch the whole thing or dip out. After you told them what your video is about you can go into more detail of each of your pieces of advice. Don't make a continuous video though. Use editing to isolate each piece of advice without any interference such as "I hunting this fox but let me kill this pack of Thunderjaws first as they're blocking the road". Keep it simple brother and keep up the good work.
I agree about the attention spans. Unfortunately my El Gato is having issues again, had nothing but problems with that thing. I have had to get creative and use the share function to record video clips then edit them later so it makes it tough. I appreciate the feedback, this was the first "things I wish I knew" video so it definitely helps me determine what is working and what needs to change.
I noticed that my regular bow arrows were inaccurate but the precision bow arrows actually go where I want in concentration mode. I was at about level 42 when I arrived at Meridian. I ended up doing all side quests, hunting grounds, etc. first.
While you are aiming, are you holding the R2 (attack) button down until the cross hair circle is solid? On the precision bow, it will take about 1-2 seconds before you are completely accurate. That is the only thing I can think of.
I was just pulling R2 like a shooter.... This actually changes a lot I was really starting to not like the game because I could never hit anything I was aiming at... Figured it was the aim assist being off because of playing on the highest difficulty...
The white loot aka meat, is pretty useful to keep imo. For health potions. I sold a total of like 1k and then realised I could have used them to craft potions..so yeah

Hi there,love your channel. Ive just picked up the game and ive only got 1 question left after watching this video... Why oh why did they make Aloy pigeon toed?! Haha
They look like blue pyramids on the map, and after you clear them, they will turn green. You find them like you would find camp fires or merchants, just by exposing more of the map. You can also climb a tallneck machine and override it to expose huge portions of the map.
God I'm really glad I'm not the only one that hated the laughter. I don't get the need to laugh to fill in the quiet after you talk, especially if it's a monologue/guide

Plus, if you rush the main quests. You'd get to the final boss with barely any health or skill points.

Don't follow what he's done with his skill tree. Get the skills that can help you get more/rare loots.
They give you the option to "create job" for capacity upgrades.
But the job in which they create doesn't show you where the animals are located.

I just started playing this game and I love it. I just wish the game would explain more how everything works like selling resources. I had to Google what I could sell so I wouldn't sell the wrong things😂
Also unlocking the perk where you can carry more resources is a MUST because then it will be full ALL of the time which can get very annoying.
And also what the symbols mean like the fire, ice, etc. It took me a while to figure out what it all meant when I first started.
Also, they should let your health be able to regenerate by itself as long as you have enough plants or whatever. It gets annoying haveing to push up on the D pad while you are trying to fight a machine. I don't understand why they have the plants for health but also potions. It should have just been 1 or the other. What else is annoying is having to scroll thru all of your potions and stuff to find what you need while fighting a machine.

I've finished the game 4 times on easy medium hard and ultra hard and a huge thing I wish I knew was how powerful pulling down the Spectre thing is and hitting it with my spear it was crazy how fast it kills them
I set my staring difficulty to the hardest level. Never knew that shadow series weapon is way cheaper on maybe lower difficulty.
Prices on the hardest level is ranging from 4000-7000 shards
its fooling yourself but you can play the game on ultra hard and change back to easy to buy the weapons and stuff for cheaper prices and then change back to ultra hard afterwards.
NOTE: changing difficulties during NEW GAME + mode is not possible when playing on Ultra hard.

I wish when you cleared a machine site that they don't respawn like the corrupted zones only because 1. It gives you something to do after to finish the game and 2. It makes traveling over long distances easier but those are just my thoughts

Very funny that the opening complaint about "how do I know what I need to upgrade and why won't it tell me when I can" could be solved by pressing square to make an errand for it... which it says at the bottom right of the screen.
That was added in later patch. It use to not tell you.

Sorry, I'm not knocking you here, I appreciate everyone who puts up these videos! Just commenting for the benefit of anyone else just starting out with the game as I did just a couple months ago. It is a really useful ability, and I get why you wanted it back then.

The animal meat is worthless?! It’s only used to make health potions and fast travel kits. If playing on harder difficulty settings you will end up needing to make health potions in field at some point and they use a LOT of meat. Actually that’s one of few complaints about this game is gotta always be on lookout for animals to kill so have a stack of each kind of meat - well cept tiny meat hahahah

I actually kind of like it . I thought he was doing it on purpose and then I realized later on that it was him splicing the video.
my bigest complaint is the menu system and haveing to get extra resouces to get the good stuff not makeing clear what you can sell and what you need to buy stuff, i am doing all the side stuff, i like most of it and its boosts my XP but the grinding for extra stuff is a pain.
but the world is beautiful and spectacular and the robots are fun to fight so i am willing to forgive them but i hope its going to be rectified with HFW.
the game makes it very clear what you need to buy stuff and what to sell.
you can sell everything except wood.
when crafting or buying stuff it always shows the icons of whats needed. 9/10 times its just metal shards.

I appreciate the feedback but can you explain your reasoning behind 5 minutes? I have been trying to make my videos as short as possible without sacrificing quality or content. This one I felt needed to be a little longer in order to be thorough.
Pimperville2 Gaming It wasn't until 3 minutes into the video that you killed your first wild life. Before that you killed two Long Horns. I'm just saying, get to the point. Attention spans are short. There is no need to show us how you kill two Long Horns when your first piece of advice is about hunting wildlife. Secondly, tell your viewers in the intro what you're going to be talking about. If your video consists of 5 essential pieces of advice, then list them in the first 10 seconds of the video so viewers can decide whether they want to watch the whole thing or dip out. After you told them what your video is about you can go into more detail of each of your pieces of advice. Don't make a continuous video though. Use editing to isolate each piece of advice without any interference such as "I hunting this fox but let me kill this pack of Thunderjaws first as they're blocking the road". Keep it simple brother and keep up the good work.
I agree about the attention spans. Unfortunately my El Gato is having issues again, had nothing but problems with that thing. I have had to get creative and use the share function to record video clips then edit them later so it makes it tough. I appreciate the feedback, this was the first "things I wish I knew" video so it definitely helps me determine what is working and what needs to change.

Any idea why my arrows don't ever fucking go where I aim them in concentration?!??
I noticed that my regular bow arrows were inaccurate but the precision bow arrows actually go where I want in concentration mode. I was at about level 42 when I arrived at Meridian. I ended up doing all side quests, hunting grounds, etc. first.

While you are aiming, are you holding the R2 (attack) button down until the cross hair circle is solid? On the precision bow, it will take about 1-2 seconds before you are completely accurate. That is the only thing I can think of.

I was just pulling R2 like a shooter.... This actually changes a lot I was really starting to not like the game because I could never hit anything I was aiming at... Figured it was the aim assist being off because of playing on the highest difficulty...

The white loot aka meat, is pretty useful to keep imo. For health potions. I sold a total of like 1k and then realised I could have used them to craft potions..so yeah

But how do you find the cauldrons?
They look like blue pyramids on the map, and after you clear them, they will turn green. You find them like you would find camp fires or merchants, just by exposing more of the map. You can also climb a tallneck machine and override it to expose huge portions of the map.
God I'm really glad I'm not the only one that hated the laughter. I don't get the need to laugh to fill in the quiet after you talk, especially if it's a monologue/guide
