If there's one thing I've learned from Medicham/Machamp/Defense Deoxys/Poliwrath and now Vigoroth with Rock Slide and Hitmontop with Triple Axel, it is that Counter plus good DPE STAB charge move plus other charge move that hits fliers for super effective damage equals, at minimum, a pretty solid pick for PVP.
Hitmontop beating poliwrath got me for a second. Figured wrath slightly out bulked top but it must be close enough where triple axel flips the table. Just wow. 12:40 shoutout to Reis
I would love both shadow hitmontop and shadow sneasler, but I never managed to get a good top when they were available and somehow I have literally not seen a single shadow sneasel from fighting-type grunts since the rocket takeover event
Great video as normal. I have a drinking game idea - how many times Henry say ‘Charge Attack Priority’ lol you’re guaranteed to be drunk by the end of the video.
I’ve been enjoying running a triple water team leading Poliwrath with dewgong and lanturn in the back. It handles a lot of the newer meta changes and can overcome most bad matchups with debuffs, just stay away from cresselia leads.
I also built a GL top some time ago and it was a lot of fun. Also i was lucky enough to catch hundo hitmontop 😁 which is the best possible for UL, but gotta gather some more XL candys for it
Glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I've been tracking my matches (only my second season at this and I'm sitting at about 1730 today) and this team wouldn't do well against a lot of what I'm seeing
Going for that CC against the Swampert was such a huge misplay. I really wish you'd add this to the commentary from time to time, to help people get better.
That's a fair point. I probably would have triple axeled there, but I get the idea of trying to get a ko to deny energy, since ta doesn't ko from there
I think my thought process was that swamp would get to 2 hydros that had to be shielded, and if I threw a triple axel, and they no shielded, g-fisk could get to an eq, so i tried to take them out like that. But yeah, triple axel would probably be safer
Honestly do these streamers get paid off pokemon to make battle leauge look good because it is the biggest rigged piece of trash I have ever played the algorithm in this game is disgusting I tried this exact team and got 3 lantern leads in a row and 2x fire leads and then got counted when I safe switched vigaroth I then switch the team around to test so I put hitmontop as the lead and boom the lead pokemon was a flyer so I just got hard counterd again I watch these videos and it makes no difference I try these teams and the algorithm just fucks me safe to say I have deleted the app waste of my time.

I actually played the same team again, and won. After the sky attack i had to switch into top, and counter down poli.

I’m using hitmontop on the lead, with spark lanturn and drifbloom with icy wind and mystical fire.
Pretty nice team. But it is too hard at lower ELO since a lot of Talonflame and Skeledirge.
