    The little cabin in the back is not for crew. The boat is designed for a family and that little cabin is for when their kid/kids don't behave properly, they can be locked down in that cabin for keeping the noise level down at night.

    Looks a lovely boat. I really like that era of boat, and I'm not sure if it's because the early 2000s were my "glory days" or if it's just that I have a penchant for burr walnut! Great boat for UK waters and weathers though, very practical for those of us who aren't primarily sunbathing while stern-to berthed!

    Nice Vlog 👍! Not a lot of space on the boat but they made pretty good use of what there is. Would have to change the electronics for some newer stuff and would redo the floor hatch covers to be more flush to the rest of the floor to prevent tripping and catching toes. May not be the first boat I would look for when buying, but not one to be ashamed of owning either.

    It's a Fairline - that alone says so much. PLUSES - a 16 year old yacht that looks but months out of the factory. MINUSES - it's a yacht with 16 year old electronics and pumps that wear out (water, hydraulic, waste, engine driven, etc.). While it is decently priced, the ancillaries could factor in. But, if the vessel has had regular servicing (beyond just oil changes), then reliability is raised to a positive level. All in all, if my boat budget* ever fell to a mere £200,000, then I would roll the dice on this beauty. Thanks again, Nick... *imaginary

    I used to own one of these, but a slightly later 2006 mkII model. Lovely feeling of quality inside, although it was an awful boat to drive.

      Hi Will. I have never driven one of these, being a rag-hanging 'yachtie' - so can you explain why it is awful to drive - I mean to me an engine and rudder is all you need, isnt it?

    • @willbrowne9568
      @willbrowne9568 3 года назад +2

      @@dickkingswell5249 It was manoeuvring in close quarters which proved to be difficult. The rudders on them were very small, so they were ineffective at any speeds below 6-7kts. Even up on the plane the turning was very sluggish compared to any other shaft drives boat I’ve driven. There was also a known fault on them with the bow thruster which would overheat very quickly due to the wires being to thin. So trying to birth the boat in high winds/ tide proved very difficult. A friend of ours who was an experienced boater, moved it back to the space one day after a repair and said it was the worst boat he’d ever driven.

    Whilst a very nice boat, these early 21st century boats are showing their age particularly around design and technology

      One of the Joy's of boat ownership for some is updating and modernizing wouldn't take much for updating navigation update and some wrapping to bring it bang up to date. U get a lot of boat for 200k

    The rounded details in the cabins are pretty sweet. I thought of you and this boat may pair well but, I'm just a fan so I really wouldn't know...hey then how about a tour of a boat you would love to own if you had £500,000? 😜Thanks Nick! Have fun mi amigo and as always be blessed and safe. ♿🇺🇸

      @@WillowGTI I had my 45' reupholstered: two couches, double wide seat and a single seat. $7800USD. And that was marine grade upholstery, not leather. That was the single biggest expense besides the purchase price so far.

      I'd spend money to get the TV removed. If a TV is there it will be an inevitable focus. Get some board games onboard instead. No TV means you have to focus on the family, partner, if you're alone you read a book; it means you focus more on your surroundings than stare at the idiot box which we do too much of anyway. (But that's just me, I won't say anyone who thinks differently to me is "wrong" or anything!)
