Is someone who once considered tucking only to find the most accessible option is TAPING YOURSELF, I wouldn't mind seeing tucking stuff in a store every once in a while. Same with binders. I worked as a bar-back at a gay bar when I was just out of high school, and I will attest there are a lot of elderly gay guys who get way too touchy even if you're clear you don't like it. Its weird af tbh. On the other hand, there are also plenty of older gay guys who are incredibly respectful, warm people that I called friends and mentors.

We can agree that gender is a social construct, biology has some influence, while also acknowledging that there are in general some areas of significant difference between men and women, gay or straight. Sexual aggressiveness is certainly one of them, at least in developed western countries
I'm pretty sure it was never a gay problem, since creep men exist in every area of life, and normal people normally don't think "omg the gays have infiltrated the church" or "the gays conspire to become CEOs" or something.
Tons of straight people are predators, but difference is being straight is normalized so it's not generalized, whereas gay people are still considered an anomaly therefore any crime done by a gay individual gets targeted uproar towards the gay population. I have to say homophobia has always enraged me. I am very lucky and I was raised in a home where gay people were just like everyone else. All that being said, now that one of my sons has come out to me, I want to hurt people who put him in danger. My feelings have just been intensified, I didn’t even realize it until watching this video and listening to Austin.

It's good to be aware about certain unfairness wether it is financial, social and legal within our societies, but avoid doing it too much 'cause it might affect you. @@no_less03 Yeah, I've had to reign in how much I do that. Since discovering that I'm trans, I've been seeing so much hate online, and I've even talked to someone that had no regret about bullying a trans kid in their school to the point of suicide.
While it's important to know about certain issues, only focusing on them can become all consuming (ironically, this is also probably part of the reason why bigots believe that queer stuff is taking over lol). A balance needs to be found between complete ignorance and obsession. I barely knew anything about trans topics before (and even people that I talk to now, think that trans people are free to be themselves without issue - they're just not in that 'world', as such), yet now I'm at a point where I'm worrying about a genocide attempt in the US, while I'm in Australia.

I don’t ‘gaslight’ my friends into being traumatized, if they tell me something happened I ask if they’re ok and let them come to me later if they need to, pushing a topic can make it worse or push them away. You often don’t realize how traumatic an event was until after it’s over and that can take a while, I hope that’s not what happens to Austin. I also think creepy old men need to keep their grubby hands to themselves and laughing about it/ ignoring it only encourages the behavior.

Back when I was 24 (so like, ~11 years ago) I was with a guy who was very straight-acting. Other than enjoying sex with men, all his interests and habits came off as very hetero. I even said to him once, “it’s like you’re a straight man born in a gay man’s body,” to which he agreed.
In a lot of ways, I think he was kind of sad about it; it felt like he felt very left out a lot of the time, on both sides- with his straight buddies (almost all his friends were straight “bro” types) as being the only gay guy in their group, but he also just didn’t relate to a lot of stuff that’s part of “gay culture.”
He’s married now though, and I _think_ happy. I only ever talk to him once in a blue moon. I sometimes think about him and wonder if he feels more accepted.

Our biggest divide is that I was introverted in high school, so I made a lot of introverted friends, and now thanks to college I’m an extrovert, but they stayed introverted, so they often want to stay home and just chill while I’m yearning to go out, drink and be more social.

Maybe it was family that had issues…? Though I met his dad, mom, and stepdad, and they all seemed fine. The way I took it was that he’d just wished he was either “full gay” or “full straight” and not in an in-between zone.
There were really no cues that he was gay (except _maybe_ that he was in art school lol but that is a stereotype… but it’s the only thing that _maybe_ someone would think) but yet he was very open and revealing about being gay (my point being he could’ve hid it easily if he’d wanted to). He was the one who flirted with me and initiated contact, which was very surprising to me at the time because I was very shy and had only been with one other person.
Maybe it’s just he was one of those “over-thinkers”. I consider myself one too; it’s hard for us to be happy because we’re always overthinking things. While lying in bed next to each other he once randomly said to me “sometimes I wonder: am I a bad person?” out of absolutely nowhere. I told him: “truly bad people don’t ask themselves those questions.”
