I rode a 2023 200 RR in the woods last fall, I liked it. Bike felt like it had a small cockpit and was plenty easy to reach the ground, just did not feel like a full size bike, nothing bad about that but just was strange, suspension was not too bad and the engine was where it really shined. My 16 200 xcw had a very short low end torque curve then kind of flat with pleny up top and that setup is annoying in the cascade mountains where you are constantly up and down steep/sketchy single track all day.
Beta 200 engine is awesome in my opinion at 200 pounds dry weight it towed me around great and had much more on the bottom and was smooth torque curve throughout. I think dude said he paid something like $7,800 new which is amazing.
I would have purchased one but none were available.

My "real" GasGas clutch squawks pretty good when you're revving too much for the gear you're in while slipping. Been doing it for over 350hrs on stock plates. Think it might be cause of aluminum plates maybe. Not really sure. Maybe it's just the compound of the fibers. Never hurts anything that I've seen, but definitely let's you know you're not in the right gear. 80w belray every 25 or so hrs and never looks dirty.

Both my '17 and '22 300rr RE came with the TPS on the Keihin. The bikes are wired up to accept the oil injector kit if you want add the kit. Beta also offers a race wiring loom that streamlines all of the wiring. Unfortunately it also deletes the odo/computer. The TPS delete is a kit you can buy from Beta. Some guys do that as it has a slightly easier throttle pull. Whatever... Never saw the need to change it out. Also my 300 has the clutch slave on the chain side. Also, the red plastic chain guide is a stock unit.

Awesome review, thanks for doing it.Just reaffirms my thoughts on the bike I believe the 200 is a great bike and in the right hands it is killer. Had 21 200RR race edition 21 and now a 22. Same K Tech insert (race gas version) JD Jet kit and especially needle change made it incredibly crisp. Cleanest carb bike I ever had. Holeshots are amazing. Have had the same squeal on both bikes so be curious if you can solve. Sounds worse than it is and never had a clutch failure of fault of any kind. Just annoying and you have to be slipping clutch a fair amount to get it to do that.
I went to 14 front sprocket, for more technical riding and do like it better. Been playing with the power valve as of late to give it a little more low end. Almost got it. A tad cold here in NE but Spring is coming! Looking forward to more 200 content. DaveInPA

I think I found out why the confusion and delivery with the 15 front sprocket on the 200, especially in the US. I checked the owner's manual (from 2020) and for all 2T Betas the taller gearing is under the "Europe" (street use) column and the shorter gearing beside it. BUT only for the 200 is mistakenly the other way around (14/49 for Europe and 15/49 otherwise). Also another info in the same table is that the internal gears are exactly the same as for the 125, and for the 125 the final "Race" gearing is 13/50 (and 13/45 for the street/"Europe"). Somebody to inform Beta about it... You will re-evaluate for the even better few things about the 200 when you try it second time on the same place with the 14 in front...

the beta xtrainer is ideal for beginners/novices and is marketed for that purpose, despite having a 300cc engine its detuned quite a bit compared to the 300 in the rr models, it has softer suspension, which again is more suited for slower/novice riders and offers more comfort too, its also lower and shorter than rr models, a really good popular trail bike for beginners, deffo worth looking into, they get a lot of praise and still share things from the rr models, the 200rr will be a lot more "racier" compared to the xtrainer,
