OH THANK GOD. Answered my two worries:
- not a focus on multiplayer
- no microtransactions
I’m super hyped that multiplayer is an option
im so glad multiplayer is only an option, its such a silly thing that modern games are nearly all multiplayer by default, with all the actual content only available with constant internet connections.

Wild theory: The seamoth-lookalike is the first part of a 2 part vehicle. Instead of 2 new vehicles, we get one vehicle early game, and later on we can attach a larger part to it. My hope is that its a crabsuit. We attach the back of it to the little thing on the bottom, and we got extra armor on the sides and 2 more propellers for a total of 3 with the one in the middle along with 2 prawn-like arms.
It definitely looks like it attaches to something else

Subnautica is the ONE game I go to to relax and enjoy the original content over and over. Has been installed since it first hit Steam wayyy back when.
I hope the creatures look really different from the one on 4546b because it wouldn't make a lot of sense if some of them are related

This submarine looks like, that in the future it'll become the head of robot. Imagine the combination of seamoth and prawn. Also would be incredible if the transport could transform between Cyclops-like submarine and Prawn-like robot modes.

Oh. Oh man. I'm glad I found this video first, I just saw the *thumbnail* for the previous one and was worried. Also maybe the broken back bit of that sub-head is a connector, and the lower bit is an exhaust port? It'd be weird to just have a tiny cockpit-submarine. (Although it WOULD be really maneuverable...)
would be cool if the weird part of the new seamoth is a neck. Just imagine docking your seamoth only to be transported to a epic mech!
Did you see the giant hermit crab-like creature in the back left of the image? I also hope that this new sub docks in front of whatever the new cyclops is. It looks like the front of the cyclops!
That submarine definitely attaches to the side of a bigger submarine with others
Yeah. Its probably a mini scouting pod of some sort thats actually part of a bigger vehicle.
The shark-thing in the centre reminds me of the Chelicerate from BZ. Maybe this one will be a warm shallows variant?

To the left in the far back, you can make the outline of a crab creature
In the multiplayer mode, I think a proximity chat would be good. Having peoples voice fade out as they move into deep water would be great. Plus they could add a radio item to let you communicate anywhere
Edit: It would hopefully be optional in the settings
I just hope we get a big submarine similar to the cyclops, maybe bigger than it, because if we do have multiplayer in this it would be nice to have a large submarine to accomodate multiple players

You can see a little light ray come out of the bottom of the seatroth (thats what im calling it anyway), so I'm either guessing this is a light or a camera. Would also be cool to see if it's a scanner on the ship so you don't have to get out to scan or scan things only the truck can scan
I think it's a sort of detachment pod where if your vehicle is either critically damaged or you need a small vehicle to move fast and be safe you can separate from the main body

I wonder what Aterra's motives are for this planet? Resource mining, exploration, or something else...? But this game looks like it'll be fun. A lot of space in what seems to be the safe shallows of this game, and the pink fish look like they could be the peeper of Subnautica 2! I can't wait to see more of this game in the future!

I will guess the tiny sub in the screenshot is called the “Tadpole.” It would be a self propelled submersible, but could attach to various other modules, like @acoolnameemm said in their comment. But, it could also be a small self contained sub that is meant for exploration in tight cave environments. The metal part coming out the bottom could be a power cell access, or even a sample storage compartment, who knows? 😉
I hope that every creature in that image is in the game as they are because they are AWESOME

I think the submarine will be like you can't store stuff on it and can't attach stuff to it but it is very fast and the tiny thruster on the back allows it to hip in and out of water at high speed to maybe escape quickly or get onto land
In Anthomia's he actually thought the opposite about what the new Sub could do.
He believes that something can be attached to the back.
I think, the submarine is a small exploration vehicle. Maybe it can hold torpedos?
1:17 probaly a way to atatch things like drills or maybe even a body, like a modular prawnsuit, and the propeler has handles, so maybe you could fit a second one on the bottom
I've just thought: The vehicle could be the "Head" of a P.R.A.W.N Suit. Maybe the next version of the Suit from the OG Subnautica & Below Zero?
I imagine the seat would move positions based on whether the "Head" is attached to the Exosuit or not. When it's attached, you're sat just like you would in a P.R.A.W.N Suit, but then you jump in the water, detach from the Suit, and you're roaming around in a Seamoth and your seating position moves.

Instantly back to being hype about the game! The GAAS and multiplayer possibly being more of a main focus were the two things I was worried about after that video, so hearing this is perfect. Thanks for the update Aci! And thank you Subnautica devs for updating us as well
1:10 that kind of looks like an attachment point. like maybe you can hitch modules onto the back like the sea truck. but it's also angled sort of downwards, like maybe you could also attach a chassis to the bottom… like maybe arms and legs? sort of a prawn suit x sea truck hybrid. hey maybe you can even attach wheels or a boat hull to the bottom
The "sub", that you see, I don't think its a vehicle. It's miniscule compared to the surroundings. My first thought was that it's size was like that of the camera from the scanner room. It's next to a stone which appears to be small, as well as some decorative coral foliage, which if it's sized anything like the original game, means its tiny. Not to mention the nearby prey fish being relatively the same size. Could be wrong I guess, but it just doesn't look right if it's a vehicle.

I wonder if Alex Rease is working on the creature concepts. He’s amazing in this stuff (he designed the shadow leviathan, seamonkies and other subnautica BZ creatures).
This creature does look like something he'd design yeah!
I have an idea for call of the void, what about an enormous leviathan that can be seen watching from the distance with many large eyes but only rarely intervenes if the player goes to a certain area or does a certain thing while its watching, like for example you kill a fish and just leave the body it comes and takes something from you, like your cyclops or a segment of a nearby base, or it just straight up telepathically threatens you not to do it again. I just find the idea of a giant leviathan where all you see is many massive eyes looking back at you and watching you but only rarely interacting kind of cool and mysterious and I think it would fit well with the whole theme if something it doesn't like you doing was taking crystals back to the crater. A bit like the Lurker only much more powerful and very curious but shy.
Again just an idea and if you want I can go on about possible designs for the model but I think I've typed a lot already.
I think that the new little sub will be like a tugboat, where you’ll be able to attach small parts of a base to the back of the submarine and move it around

I would like a plot like this, Riley comes home, he is sent to the police because they thought that he died on 4546B, then they impose a fine on him in the amount of 10,000,000 credits for using resources on the territory of Alterra, but for the fact that he healed the planet from Harra understate the debt. Then the rally tells about the forerunners and gives data from the PDA. And in order to repay the debt, he is sent with a team and supplies to another water planet to study the forerunners, and then, in case of an unsuccessful landing, they lose supplies, if you chose a single player game, then the whole team except you is eaten by the leviathan, and if you chose multiplayer, then you survive

I feel that the sub would be all of the subs from the last 2 games, so you could attach it to an exosecltion for a prawn suit or add sea truck segments like below zero.

Here’s my idea on the submarine. I think it will work as a cyclops/seatruck like submarine. I think that mini sub would attach itself to one big submarine compartment. I think it will work as a cyclops, then the window splits off to a seamoth

From your previous video it seemed like the sequel was doomed to fail but it turns out things are even better than I imagined. We got more news about the next game, playing on a new planet + optional coop was confirmed and we even got a new concept art! ( or whatever a sneak peak like this is called ). Also since the next game is subnautica 2 that means below zero was more like a spinoff or a 1.5 version. It leads me to believe ( or at least hope ) that it's gonna be even more expansive than the previous 2. I see a lot of potential here! 😁

@@Obraxis is it? I doubt it's a real screenshot, at best they made assets and that's a render. I highly believe this is however not the case since they said the early acces phase will not be out this year which means they haven't done enough to release it even at an early stage

Tbh I think a game like Subnautica would be really good in an Endless Oceans or Beyond Blue format, where you can swim around to all kinds of biomes and your main goal is to just see dozens of different species. Subnautica does have plenty of things swimming around, but I'm talking about *more*
I think that thing under the sub may be a hitch to a body, having a big mech suit, like a megazord from Power Rangers. I'd love to be this, it would be a childhood dream to pilote a megazord.

Just something to point out: as far as I’m aware they have said no battlepasses or subscriptions, and they said you won’t NEED to buy anything except the base game. But it’s still possible that microtransactions will be included
