I literally just got back from a protest, and was like "I need to stop doom scrolling" and I came to your video. But even though I was trying to escape a bit I am SO glad you are saying something. My biggest problem right now is it feels like there are so many people doing nothing and it's so great to see you doing something, even just talking about it on your platform.

@Farah Renard SMother Theresa was also a hugely problematic bitch
Spare us all the admonishment of some colonialist, racist and imperialist old hag that forced deathbed baptisms, supported forced religious conversion and condemned abortion, contraceptives and divorce.
SMother theresa is one of the worlds worst con artists at best and a religiously imperialist, racist murderer at worst.

@Farah Renard mother Teresa let people suffer to bring them closer to God in her belief system. She 100% is NOT someone to be idolizing or looking to right now for how to act.

I live in the south where most men are celebrating and generally people are arrested if they protest because no one in power wants to acknowledge that we have problems. I think a lot of us don’t know what to do. We feel helpless right now. All I know to do is to keep sharing resources for where women in my area of the country can get help should they need it. Thank you for being proactive ❤️

Fell free to limit digital media for your own health, or at least be selective for the resources. I found that making a list of what I really look for in media helps, I find that connection plays a big rule in the reason why one will find themselves scrolling for digital media endlessly, I found that for me being aware what is the reason I log into digital media is, push notifications often draw my attention and it is so accessible it is really easy to get lost in it, and lose a lot of time for it.
So here are some list of reasons digital media is so great!
Forums give us a precious opportunity to connect with endless amounts or limited amount of people easily - often it is a way to create a digital neighborhood for likeminded people
Filmography gives us the opportunity to see personal creations.
Art - how fortunate we are to be able to see so many artists share their precious things
      Inspiration
Motivation, this is a slippery one - I find that lots of younger people are spending more time looking for motivation than creating it by doing that thing you need to do, BUT often people do find that togetherness gives them a kick of excitement about doing that thing
News, we have more than few accessible options for getting our news. We want to be aware and connected to humanity and it is often very important to be grounded in the state of the world. However, keep in mind that some people can be very sensitive to news, and there is a pressure to be super duper up to date with actuality while in reality many of us could do better with more time for processing News than consuming News. It is good to be able o track the amount of time you spend on consuming News and self checking if it feels proportionally right for us right now.
Connection with people we know, emailing or getting in touch with others
Chores we have to do on digital media, we have to do them
      Hobby sharing/ Hobby learning
      Study
      Teaching
      Time passing
      Escapism
All are very good reasons for using digital media, I found that as ai am a sensitive person, I often need balance and time off media so I can actually process all the information I consume through my day to stay receptive to happiness and healthy.

Annabel, I have felt frozen in time and fear since Jan 6. I just feel so helpless and as if I don’t belong here anymore. I’m a boomer and believed i was living a beautiful life. I am normally such an optimist and fun loving person and always used to believe our country was the greatest country in the world. Today on the 4th of July with another shooting at a parade and after all the crap we’ve been going through these last 3-4 years I feel like chicken little. “The Sky Is Falling” even when I meditate, pray, and thank our Creator for the many blessings he’s showered me with I wake up many mornings lately in fear and dread. I’m glad, I’m so glad as a content creator that you have said something. So so many have not. I grew up in California in the 60-70’s and have lived here in Texas for over 35 years. I loved my life, it was good. But everything has slowly degraded and it seems everyone is so angry. I find myself crying in fear for my country and wondering what type of country will be here for my sons. I feel so saddened some days and keep waiting for the shift or the tide to turn yet it seems so elusive. Thank You beautiful girl for your sweet beautiful videos that bring me a small moment of peace. The World Is Such A Magnificent Magical Place. Why are we making it so hard to exist with one another? I challenge you all to just be kind…For Gods Sake I’m tired! Big Love ♥️

Annie, thank you for addressing what is going on in our Country. It actually makes me feel worse when the creators I follow don't address the situation. I've been on this planet 68 years and have fought my entire life for the freedoms that are now being stripped away from us. Don't give up hope, take the time you need to educate yourself and then gather your strength and do all you can to make the changes we need. I'm not giving up, I'll be back in the trenches fighting again , to get back the freedoms I believed we had finally won. I love your videos, I love the peacefulness and joy you bring to this Community...but we can and must do both. It's all about balance. Share your feelings whenever you feel the need. Thank you again for sharing your feelings today, as I'm sure so many of us are feeling the same way. ❤

I've watched both of your channels for a couple of years and in this video, I saw a fire in you that I hadn't seen before. There is a "take no BS" energy about you and it is palpable. As women in the US, I think it would be wise for all of us to find the "take no BS" attitude that we've had since birth and that was conditioned out of us. Right now, that is my struggle ... finding my voice, finding my strength and finding the best position from which I can fight the fight we are all encountering right now.
Thank you for basically putting your foot down and refusing to stay silent! You have reinvigorated that fire within me and I hope others can take inspiration from you.
Lots of love, strength and support to you. ❤

Annabel, I’m glad you expressed how you are feeling about the state of our country. I, too, am horrified by some of the things that have recently occurred, in particular in regards to women’s rights, LGBTQA+ rights and the protection of our environment. I was a teenager when Roe v. Wade became the law of the land and I never thought a day would come when the Supreme Court would overturn it! This is so incredibly dangerous on a number of levels. I feel like some people want to take us back to the dark ages!

In no way am I prepared as so many things happened this last year that kept me from being ready. I had to move across the US, but at least I brought my herbs with me. So much else had to be left behind. I fear for the world. All I can do is to try to stay calm and as peaceful as possible and hope for the best.

Honestly, it scares me as an American that people look to us for ideals and handling of issues, considering how awful and corrupt this country can be. I know ALL governments have issues and corruption, but we are no one to idolize or look to as mentors. Personally, I always look to Europe as a good example of how we should live. America could be SO much better, especially if we eliminated the two party system that so ruthlessly divides us. 😢

Annie I am 72 years old and have been scared of just what is happening in my country since that man was elected. When the supreme court got stacked I began to be petrified. Years ago ,long before it became a movie or a TV show, I read The Handmaid's Tale and prayed and voted so it could never happen in my country. Little did I realize just now many of our freedoms would be so easily lost! I am terrified to think another right wing justice could be voted in. I am scared because every morning the news hits with another shooting, another life lost to senseless gun violence and my votes don't seem to be enough anymore. (I live in Houston) I don't like to live my life in fear. I don't want it for you or any future generations. All we can do is keep talking, keep marching, keep voting as long as we can and telling our stories, don't let history get rewritten! Our voices cannot die! We also have to keep living, for as frightened as I can get in these times I do firmly believe that as long as we breathe, there IS hope! Blessings sweet Annie! Hug those pups for us!

Welp. As a queer, disabled woman living in the US I am dumbfounded, depressed, and deeply worried about the trajectory of things in our country. I worry they're coming for my marriage next. I worry they're coming for all my privacy and autonomy. It's frightening. It's good to come here, know it's a safe space to learn and relax, and yet still acknowledge the issues.
That being said, I would love to see some herbal remedies for joint and muscle pain, fevers, and fatigue. I live with Lupus and struggle with those symptoms. I take a mountain of meds but it would be wonderful to have some herbal and magickal remedies at hand too. Thanks for sharing this. 🖤

Hello Annabel! Thank you for this content. It is relevant and helps us grow. I live in Canada, Quebec, and women still live with this fear of having the right to abortion taken away, with the conservative party which is very close to American conservative ideology. I'm behind American women right now, especially women in general. Removing the right to abortion is, in my opinion, a gesture of violence. I am proud of you! I am proud that you use your resources to say that we still have to continue to educate and inform ourselves! Thank you for everything! With much love, Bella!❤🌷

Thank you for saying something! People DO need to wake up and get political. I have worked in policy and politics for most of my adult life in Washington State and it is hard and not pretty. In other places it is even harder. I understand why people want to avoid it or ignore it. But the direction we have been headed for a long time now shows that we don’t have the luxury of staying out of it. I hope people become more active on the federal, state and local levels and sharpen their scrutiny of politicians and policies and help their friends and families vote in their own self interest rather than helping the oppressors and exploiters. They have no love for us witches.

I came to the U.S. as a legal non-immigrant when Obama was the president and I saw the people in this country getting along and things were pretty chilled out. However, over these last 5 years I see American so divided and so troubled that I don't feel like living here anymore. I am so glad I am not an American citizen. 7 years ago all I wanted was to live here forever but now I don't have that desperate desire at all. The recent Supreme Court decision is such a huge violation of human rights that I cannot still believe this is happening in America - the so-called most advanced nation of the world!

Thank you for speaking out. Honestly, I have been skipping over several feel-good videos not just yours “because” they seemed to be making videos in a vacuum. Again, thank you for looking right at the elephant in the room.
The only way out is through.

Thank you Annie, for sharing your true unfiltered self here in this space. I'm glad that you are not staying silent. I loved how "real" this video seemed. It's why I keep coming back to your channels. Thanks for keeping it real and inspiring me. I definitely would love to see some more content on self sufficiency and herbal healing. ❤️🌿

I stand with you Annabel. It's scary and I don't know what to do with all of this right now. The uselessness is what is making me angry. But it's up to me to learn how to channel that constructively. I know you'll find a way to get yourself to taking action as best as you can.

I'm feeling the same way about what's happening in this country right now. It's why I wasn't able to make the workshop on Patreon last month. I just couldn't imagine putting my focus into a workshop. But we'll get through this. I have to have hope that we can make it right.

I’m a new subscriber, and just beginning a journey to find myself spiritually, but I am so thankful that you are discussing this. I’m angry and frankly in disbelief. I don’t understand how this happened. But as I watch your videos, I always have a sense of peace. Thank you for that. You’ve really inspired me to begin reading about the path of the green witch and learning what nature has to offer us!

Please never wonder if you're making a difference ... cause your story and videos have given me hope in so many ways! As a person with Crohn's Disease I have to be more careful about what I do and learning about plants and the natural wonders around me keeps me active and essentially keeps me moving forward. Thank you for being a big part of that!

hi Annabel, thank you for your honesty, I love watching both your channels, and I am aware of some of the issues that are happening in your country at the moment, it is good for you to share because we are in other parts of the world may be unaware and we can't truly trust the media, here in the UK, things are difficult in a different way, so pulling together and looking after ourselves like our ancestors, we can less be controlled, thank you for sharing and hopefully things will settle for the better big hug and tons of love , putting positive thoughts to you and your fellow Americans xxx

You are not alone. Lots of us are living in a fog, unsure about life. I continue to hope. I’m a big loner, try to stay with my crafts, and garden. Love nature. But yes unsure of things. I don’t know where to get elderberries. My health don’t allow me to leave my house much. But I do what I can. Blessings on you,I hope you find your peace. Love watching you. I’m old and don’t have the money or technology knowledge to see more. But watching you is comforting.

I'm so sorry for what is happening in the US. Just know that there are many people in many countries in Europe that are standing with you. I'm sending all my love to every woman in the US 💖 The gas and food prices are getting very expensive in Europe too because of the war in Ukraine. I don't understand what's happening in the world, but it's not good. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Warm hugs

I am so grateful for all you do and have been doing. I started watching your videos around 2 years ago and it always gives me such peace. I am feeling all that you said and then some as I have two girls. I am just trying to keep them informed and let them know that they have all my love and devotion and backing in everything they say and do. On a side note, have you ever made honeysuckle syrup? I have some that grow in my yard and I would love to use them in my craft :)

You’re not alone in the despair many are feeling.. women especially. I’m a mother and grandmother born in 58. I remember rejoicing when RoevWade went into law. To see my descendants go back to less freedoms over their own bodies is criminal! We are marching, we are voting and as a witch I’m right with you.. using my abilities to try to help. Keep doing what you’re doing!

I think most believe they do not have an issue as long as it doesn’t interfere with how they live, but it does. You take one thing away and soon, other things will be taken as well. It’s all very, “Don’t bite the hand that feeds”, to those that just accept things as they are.

As an old, cis, white American woman I am also afraid for you and others, including members of my own family. We are living in very frightening times. Over the past 10 years I have learned so much, deconstructed much of my earlier teaching and understanding. I pray that you are your friend(s) are safe. Seattle is pretty progressive but everywhere has its wackos.

I'm not American, I'm from Brazil but I live in Japan now. I've always been keeping up with the news from the US. Things aren't so different in Brazil either. As you may have heard, the president is an horrible human being. Even worse, we had some terrible news relating to women rights and abortion recently. There's so much shame and hostility coming from the religious, very traditional groups in Brazil that, sadly, is a majority in our country and also very involved with political parties. One of the reasons why I don't want to go back to my country. It's so sad. I love it but at the same time, it breaks my heart and makes me hopeless for its future. But it's election year, and there's still some hope left.

That sounds like such a great plan. How to be self sufficient, I'm extremely interested in, and I think will help me practically while the economy gets upended and mentally too, as I realize I'm good not interacting with the aspects of society that have let me down. And then the showing us the beauty still in this country, again so good for mental health, signs of hope or balance between the news cycle.
