Sabaton, and the bands I just mentioned are what the community calls "power" metal and the subgenre serves as a great introduction to this wonderful and under-appreciated music genre. Mainly for the fact that they sing about history, but the music itself clicked. It was so heavy for me back then, even though it is power metal which is more melodic and "epic". This was over 10-years ago. Gradually my taste has been going to heavier and heavier over the years and today pretty much only stuff I listen is metalcore/deathcore.
