I'm not a huge power metal fan but protective of Sabaton. I wasn't sure I'd want to hear anyone cover them. You honoured them and this song.
Assuming it wasn't a lip sync. If it wasn't, Dan nailed it, but maybe should do something to make it his own.
I'm pretty sure this was written and performed to stir the soul and drive the spirit. Mission Accomplished. Good Lord, this is powerful. Of course, the history that Sabaton brings to their compositions is always moving. But Dan, your performance of this song is just stunning.

I always listened to AC/DC as a kid because my dad got me into it, i didn't really have a choice other than becoming a metalhead when i had my first phone. After around 2 months of owning one i found myself liking melodic death metal.

So I've actually never heard your stuff, but you popped up in my recommendations.
Now, I clicked on this video with admittedly low expectations. (No offense)
Joakim has a very distinct voice and I couldn't really imagine somebody trying to cover their song in a similar style.
But by the Gods you absolutely smashed this, you blew my mind with this, this is absolutely fantastic and I now love both versions equally.

@@MrEgofreak I mean I know about say Matalica (sp?) and groups like that as I am Gen X. However, I don't do scream-o like at all, and I also don't do horrible language. So with those two filters going I can open up to some other metal bands. Again those are my hard and fast filters. In DIRECT answer to your question though, yes is my answer.
@@mirandahawley In that case, if you're looking for metal in a similar vein to this, check out Civil War (made up entirely of ex-Sabaton members), Angra, Twilight Force, Blind Guardian (post 1998, specifically the album "A Night At The Opera" and no earlier, their older stuff might be a bit too hardcore for you yet) and Hammerfall. Sabaton, and the bands I just mentioned are what the community calls "power" metal and the subgenre serves as a great introduction to this wonderful and under-appreciated music genre. If you have any questions or want more recommendations, just post them under ANY metal song and members will flock to help you. We're a friendly bunch who loves (sometimes to the point of being insufferable, but we mean well) to share our tastes with others. Hope you enjoy!

@@mirandahawley Metal genre is weird, atleast it was for me. Sabaton was my first metal band that I fell in love aswell. Mainly for the fact that they sing about history, but the music itself clicked. It was so heavy for me back then, even though it is power metal which is more melodic and "epic". This was over 10-years ago. Gradually my taste has been going to heavier and heavier over the years and today pretty much only stuff I listen is metalcore/deathcore. To name a few, Bury tomorrow, Slaughter To Prevail, Bleed From Within, InVisions, Hollow Front. I live for breakdowns and harsh vocals lol.
