Keep it up! I think you have a future in comics!
@@readhistory2023 Jim Lee DID do comics......in fact he did the most sold comic of all time
kieffer in disguise r/whoosh? I don’t know if he’s joking or not
I love when Jim Lee draws Wolverine
I cant believe I’m getting drawing lessons FOR FREE from Jim Lee, while people are paying for crappy classes. Thanks, internet.
Ikr awesome!
The school internet available 24 hours almost everything you can learn for free!!
@@eugeniosabater8449 why when you make a assignment in school did you not spending money to make your work from Jim lee shes not just drawing it she's giving you a lesson and she's teaching you for free
@@misalmuting8892 you mean he right? Jim lee is a man,, hes name is Jim
@@eugeniosabater8449that is true but people pay for easiness and having knowledge in one place and actually paying to learn how to learn that stuff effectively that’s kinda what people pay for tbh
I wish these videos were available when I was a kid growing up in the 80’s/90’s. This is pure gold...err...I mean adamantium.
😂 good one
For real my art would be 1000 x better!
His Record is flawless..not because of his Art,Style, and Execution...he does one thing that is Nearly IMPOSSIBLE for most Artists..He Meets DEADLINES!!!!
David Barnes Mark Bagley and Ron Lim did the same
OMG. I used too work in publishing as a writer and you never miss a deadline. How TF do they do that? Mind you we were relating to actual print run deadlines. Maybe they were smart and gave them deadlines ahead of the game knowing they'd over shoot them.
@@dragonmaid1360 seems super challenging to write for comic books
@@dragonmaid1360thing with comic book artists is that not only do they have to make good art but they also have to convey a sense of visual storytelling and they also have to outline shadows for the inker then they have to hand it over to the inker who needs to hand it to a colourer
Thank you mr. Jim Lee for doing this.
Jim kicks so much ass! He was the best artist that has worked at Marvel or DC. He changed the X-Men for my whole generation to appreciate a dying brand!
You and Silvestri have always been my favorite artists for Wolverine.
this is my third night in a row watching and drawing with you in this video... i can't explain how much i appreciate this education, i could cry right now with how much im learning essentially for free... thank you for this class
Jim Lee the new generation needs of artist like you! I wait new projects yours! Keep going!
Jim, you can’t do enough of these videos as far as I’m concerned. Please keep them coming❗️😃🙏🙏🙏
impressive artwork indeed Mr JIM LEE 🙋🏾♂️🙏🏿🙋🏾♂️💯👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿🙌🏿👍🏿✊🏿👌🏿💪🏿 I need to try this one
When I was kid, I always loved Jim Lee's X-Men😁 Who remember battle between Magneto and Blue Team?😁
X-Men #3... I'll never forget it!!
I wasnt born yet, but i went to a store a purchased a few Jim Lee X-Men titles fckn amazing ...Blue Team rules
That was my first comic book I ever bought!!!! IT was also the first comic that got me hooked. Every other comic book art that came after it always failed to measure up to it.
This is so interesting to see how he breaks thing down into components and forms out images. It also explains why all of his faces look the same, because they come from the same building blocks. My favorite artist of all time. Characters always jumped off the page.
Of all the guys of the i seven, I always felt he was the standard of what characters should look like.
41:36 happy accidents indeed, like how kirby's work used to get inked, those globs of ink makes me so happy haha..
nothing greater than seeing your lines in ink, when the ink gives your lines it's character. terrific!
This is amazing! We've got a worlclass comics artist giving perfect drawing leasons on youtube!
Jim Lee, you have a gift for teaching man!
actually it is on his twicth channel but kudos to VZA to upload these videos. Thanks.
I am a huge fan of your art work.
My favourite comic artist , love his shadows ,love the brush .
I remember buying the vhs tapes from Stan the man back in the day. I remember 1 with Lee McFarland and Liefield making fun of eachother for not being able to talk and draw at the same time😂 Mr Lee has come along way. Sir I want to say you're art on xmen is what made me want to draw thank you for all your years being an inspiration.
His best Wolverines were in his Uncanny X-Men run.
Jim Lee's arts is the basis for Hasbro's Marvel Legends Xmen Action figures, because he sold 8million copies and becone the Iconic artist in the comic book industry.
Love Jim Lees work!
I've never seen a tutorial done this way and as effective in a very long time, thanks jim.
Awesome. I still have a vhs with Stan Lee, featuring Jim Lee in how to draw
comics. This vhs was pre-image comics. It was when Jim was still doing X-Men.
Its amazing how consistent Jim Lee is with his art.
12 year old me would have lost it to see Jim Lee give lessons
Always a pleasure watching jim lee work has always been my favorite artist
One of your best videos on in depth step by step walkthroughs. Would love to see more of this. The explanation of the craft is very practical, yet very informative, and it makes sense. Thanks Jim.
He needs to do more of this!
Very patient display of teaching! Thanks informative!!!
amazing tutorials, i have learned so much from watching his videos especially about shadows and lighting :D :D
Great work! Always great time watching Jim Lee drawing!
Spotted David Williams in the chat! He's a good dude and great artist. 20:33 Long live CG!
a Masterclass
Master at work, man I miss him working on xmen
Jim has always been my favorite comic artist. His style is definitive to me. Its amazing he takes the time now to do these videos and tutorials. He can't do enough imo.
Amazing! Masterclass!!!
Absolute leg end
from the darkness of lines on the teeth, to the curvature of the shading on the underside of the underside of the XYZ muscle --- a true masterclass for us art noobs
VZA, thanks a lot for taking the time to edit this. Two thumbs up!
Appreciate the support.
When you can teach even better than you can draw... ;) A true Sensei ! Thankyou.
what an amazing teasher, i hope there are more videos like this
If one day i become a comic artist is thanks to jim lees teaching abilities 😅
Me: *sigh* Yeah, that's one fine looking piece of artwork. *sees Jim Lees art and my art* WHY DOESN'T MINE LOOK LIKE THAT?!
Practice practice 😉

This is so awesome. I followed along and got something decent. Practice practice. Thank you thank you.
This guy and Todd are out of this world. Jim Lee is seriously taking drawing into another level, wholy scientific. Todd brings characters to life with a simple "random" line. Incredible stuff! What a generation!
Grão Master Jim!
Meus desenhos tem influência desse cara!!
Obrigado por mostrar o momento criativo de suas obras!!
Some of those ink tricks reminded me of art class. I need to try them out
28:20 "Burrowed Frow" Master of Anatomy :D
Love this work of upward look
Awesome work!!
Amazing! Please up some more videos of how to like this! Congrats and success to the channel!
That's awesome! Thanks VZA
The legend himself
Jim Lee isn't just a comic book artist.
He is THE reason. THE driving force. Behind the massive X-Men and marvel renaissance that took place in the 90s.
Jim Lee drawing Wolverine is not an art lesson. It's history class. The 90s mainstream comicbook era can be resumed as Wolverine, Jim Lee and "some others".
Amazing way of drawing forms.
Sem mais...um dos melhores da decada de 90 e continua atual ate os dias de hoje!
Eu não poderia ter dito melhor
Jim Lee is tha man!
This is a great Channel Vic. Keep these vids coming sir.
Jim Lee inspires me to use credit cards to make blood splatter! I can imagine
Bob Ross, saying " we are going to add another happy tree, maybe nice fluffy clouds and some serene mountaintops "
Jim Lee "we are going to create blood splatter, then a little bit of slice and dice action using credit cards, just a little happy blood trail, and maybe a bit of ripped muscles and tendons"
Bob had a rule in his paintings "no people in sight". He refused to put humans in his paintings. Only old shacks and sheds that people used to live in long ago.
Your a amazing teacher.
Awesome!!!!
He is a great teacher.
Thanks for the lesson!
im not even drawing...im waching this cause its fun and helps me with stress:)
One day I'm going to totally follow this.
Hey Jim, my Dad is a huge fan and he use to practice and sketch like you when he was a teenager, he wasn’t very good, but they still looked pretty decent.
Still Got It!!!
High level Art here!!!
Good back up for drawing books tutorials.
Very useful ,brother!!
Thank's Master Jim Lee
I agree what an amazing artist
super talented. learning a lot from tor likes of him and Todd
amazing
Nice!
❤
The head looked like humpdy dumpty at first then it turned into something so cool,HOW!!
this is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love your videos, Richard. Keep doing what you do....
Awesome
When it comes to tutorial and drawing action poses,no one is better than him
I like to extend the glove line past the forearm line a little in some cases.
He's awesome
Poud of you MR.LEE
0:35 I drew that fist once. Attempted a circle, of course, but drew that fist.
thank you for sharing this
First five minutes of the drawing*
Jim Lee: so now you have this.
Me: *draws stick figures*
Great lesson from one of the masters. Dramatic poses are one of the most important parts of comic book telling. Can VZA make a video series of Jim Lee penciling a whole comic book from front cover to back cover? It will be interesting to add everything in the lessons from inking, captioning, coloring, etc. Nobody has ever created a lesson on the complete process of creating a comic book.
That's a tall order. I don't know if I'm able to make that happen but I certainly hope that's in store for the future.
That was hilarious and vza got a not so secret call out!
lol Bro, I was completely oblivious when it happened. I didn't catch it until I was doing the editing... I can be super slow sometimes. **scratches head** still not quite so sure... could just be random letters **shrug**
VZA haha no he was definitely giving you shout out. Well done
VZA Jims drawing a batman cover, I told him you said hello, he says hi back 😂 The internet is great sometimes
Darn... I missed it. Gotta get all of the beauty sleep that I can get.
Saludos desde México
You are teaching. Who is teaching you !!!
lol did you add in those little gifs like at 50:37. Lol that gif was perfect.
Amazing stuff, as usual.
ThAdonis The other gifs are from Jim's stream but yeah I had to put in Salt Bae. One of the guys at the WonderCon meet up made the comparison between that guy and Jim putting on the white out with perfection. Didn't think many would catch it but if anybody would... it'd be you.
lol thanks dude. Yeah it's the perfect gif to use. I'm sure Jim would love it too.
It was crazy how those ink specs landed on Wolvies arm and barely a speck on his face. Skills to pay the bills.
ThAdonis hejsksk
hm After watching these videos I can almost say I been trained somewhat by Jim Lee :o
LMAO dat Salt Bae!!!
i love watching todd and jim draw. its like it looks like crap for so long, and then it doesn't. lol
Woah I am way behind with my drawing skills. These clips help a lot.
D7 - great chord.
Jim Lee is Roger Federer of Comic World. the GOAT.
His inking on the muscles is muscle memory
✍
Do you pencil this loose when you're doing published assignments ?
Mucho like.
I got both of those pencils
